Really pleased, had a few gold bits I never wear and had gone out of fashion etc. Went to jewellers and was quoted £400 which was a price he said I would never beat.Sent to Hgm yesterday and £560 is in my bank account.I would never have chanced posting gold if I hadn't read all your comments, thankyou.0

Hello, new user, never entered comments on here before, but HAD to leave feedback for Hatton Garden Metals as so delighted ...
- When did you use it -6/12/10
- What did you send - old/broken gold roughly 50g
- How much did it promise you - £10.22 per g
- How much did it deliver - 52.2g @ £10.22 = £533.39
- How efficient was the service - very
- If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason -N/A
- Anything else other people should know - lots of people have given their bank a/c details, but we elected to receive a cheque...bit more time but felt more comfortable.
Thank you to this forum :T Merry Xmas!0 -
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how I can find out if my gold is 9k or 18k?:o0 -
Does anybody have experience of buying from HGM? The feedback here is very impressive but before I part with a significant amount of money (at least by my standards!) I'd like to know if HGM are as good at selling gold as they appear to be at buying it0

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how I can find out if my gold is 9k or 18k?:o
Carat rating should be on the hallmark if there is one; otherwise if you take it into a jeweller (probably one that deals in scrap gold would be best, as you can ask them to quote for it at the same time) they should be able to tell you.
Re Hatton Garden, I decided to sell off some old gold on the strength of Martin's article on gold buying websites. 2 local jewellers weighed and quoted, I then came back and ran it through Hatton Garden's quotation tool, which came up significantly higher - over £60 in one case.
Sent off Special Delivery to them in my lunchbreak yesterday, had an email back by 11:30 today with the same weights as quoted by the jewellers here and much better prices, and the money was in my account already! Staggering service, wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
What I sent:
- 1 x 22ct ring: 2.90g @ £24.94 = £72.33
- 1 x 18ct ring: 3.40g @ £20.41 = £69.38
- 1 pair 14ct earrings: 0.70g @ £15.87 = £11.11
- 2 x 9ct rings and assd odd earrings: 7.00g @ £10.20 = £71.420 -
Thank you. Has anyone had to claim on a lost package? Looking at royal mail's website you have to provide proof of purchase which I couldn't do as most if not all of it were gifts.0

I am still dizzy with amazement. I had some odds and ends that I found in my draw, an old broken bracelet and some really old fashioned earrings etc, all 9ct, I weighed it at 47 grammes. I posted it by special delivery yesterday at about 3pm. I logged on to my portal this morning at 9am to see if they had received it and to my surprise they had. It told me the gold had weighed in at 45.20 grammes instead of the 47 grammes I thought it was because there was a chain that wasn't gold. I received an email at 12.02pm and the money £461.18 was in my bank before 2pm today.
Hatten Garden Metals are unbelievably efficent.

After getting a quote from local 'gold' shop of £550, HGM website indicated I would receive over £700. It cost me £5.90 to send at 4pm. (4th Jan). By 11am the next day I had £750.94 in my account
FANTASIC :rotfl:0 -
After reading the reviews for Hatton Garden Metals, I checked their website and posted off 52 grams of 9ct gold by Special Delivery, as recommended. I was delighted to receive exactly the amount HGM had calculated @ £10.24 per gram - £532.48 - which was paid into my bank account today, just a few hours after it was received!!
Well done Hatton Garden Metals! What a brilliant service! I hadn't found any other gold buying site who paid more, and shall certainly recommend them to everyone!
P.S. I weighed my gold on the Post Office scales, and it was the same at HGM.0 -
I can't recommend this company enough!!
