I sent another load of scrap off today...and altho i had it weighed about 6 times locally at 61g, ...HG only got 60.2g......but i can live with that...especially as the price went up slightly to compensate........

When did you use it ......Sent it off Wed 18th August
What did you send........ 61g of 9ct
How much did it promise you...... £549(that was price on calculator)....
How much did it deliver ...£545 (Bacs transfer same day)
How efficient was the service...very efficient
If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason, slight weight variation and price rose slightly...
Anything else other people should know I 100% recommend them, this again is £150 more than the locals were offering...

Ps....and this ISN'T a criticism......but i wonder how many "DIAMONDS" and other precious stones, HG find in their packages..........that the senders are not bothered about, and dont want "any non gold" returning ....
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

  • On 17th August 2010 I downloaded the "items to be sold details form" from their web site. The form with some mixed gold was posted using Special Delivery on 18 August 2010 and the advised amount of money (plus an additional 1p!!) was in my bank account as cleared funds on 19 Augst 2010. Excellent service.
    • When did you use it 1/08/10
    • What did you send it 14gm 18 ct and 9g 9 ct broken gold
    • How much did it promise you £330
    • How much did it deliver £325
    • How efficient was the service Sent 19/08/10 paid 20/08/10

    • Anything else other people should know Would recommend them to anyone I know who is thinking of selling gold.
I sold gold 18 months ago before there was a glut of internet traders and I was paid a good price at the time. But I did shop around and googled the best price i was offered to ensure they was legitimate. But the service I received from Hatton Garden Metals was outstanding. Well done MSEx

Terrific service. I made the weight of my gold (odds and ends) 24grams and they did the same. You get a quote online and they stick to it. Sent the gold off one day and money in my account the next. Excellent service and really good rate, having checked out other companies first. Well done Hatton Garden Metals.:T

I had the same experience - sent gold off (for good rate) one day and money in my account the next. Amazing service. Well done Hatton Garden Metals:j

Thanks to the MSE team, yesterday I weighed some old broken gold and was amazed to find there was 40g (I expected it to be about 5g).

I went to the Hatton Garden website and got an estimate of £361. I was stunned:eek:

I immediately sent my gold off special delivery, as requsted by them, which cost me £5.05.

I had an email today, confirming that there was in fact 39.40 grams and the monetary value was £354.75. The payment was made and was in my bank account within a couple of hours.

I can't thank Martin and the team enough - thanks to them I'm £350 better off and this is on top of reclaiming PPI last year and getting our Council Tax reduced in June.

If the Team told me that black was white - I'd believe!!!

By the way - dunno if it wil help, but I emailed them stating that I thought that they should affiliate with MSE, as it was recommending them and obviously bringing them some custom. Hope it helps...

How much did it deliver ...£917.18 (Bacs transfer same day) :j
How efficient was the service...very efficient

  • I got an estimate online yesterday afternoon for 23g of 9ct gold. This weight included 3 rings and a pendant with stones in. Price quoted was £207 (£9 per gram). Instructions were very clear - I sent it by special delivery at 5pm last night which cost £5.05 (plus 29p for a jiffy bag!)

When I came home from work today there was an email to say £199.66 had been deposited in my bank for 21.9g of 9ct at £9.12 per gram. Difference in weight was the stones. I checked my bank and the money was already there.:T

Excellent service & price. Local jeweller laughed at me when I said I could get £9 per gram - 'bl**dy good luck to you then, I can't get that' was his parting shot!

Thanks to Martin & the team for this advice & information :j

  • I used CASH 4 MY GOLD recently and they were advertising one price but when they weighed my gold they quoted quite another coming up with all kinds of excuses. I had it sent back immediately (Luckily free of charge)
Imagine my trepidation when I realised I would have to pay to send my gold off to another company?

I bit the bullet and sent it off to Hatton Garden Metals and nervously awaited a valuation.

    Special delivery sent saturday morning.

Phone call from HGM monday morning and the payment in my bank monday afternoon!

I cannot recommend them enough and have another consignment heading their way tomorrow.

    OUTSTANDING! WELL DONE HGM!! :T

    Chris.
  • Over the moon with this company! :j

Printed out their email, put it in envelope with gold and sent special delivery £5.05 (insured for £500 & Delivered before 1pm next day).

  • After reading your article on Cashing in your old gold, I decided to use Hatton Gold Metals. I weighed out the gold and got a price. I posted the gold on Friday and by Monday afternoon got the money they quoted. This was double the amount offered to me from three high street outlets. Thanks very, very much.:T
