I'm seriously shocked by how smooth and quick the transaction was.

They received the items this morning and by lunchtime the money was in my account.

I wish I had more gold to sell!! :T:T:T:T

I sent them 40g of 9ct gold and was paid for 38.4g so a shortfall of 1.6g somewhere. (Amounted to around £14 at the time) Perhaps my digital kitchen scales were over reading as all items were definitely hallmarked gold and there were no stones.

Still, 9/10 for me, quick, easy, recommended, good price, money in bank account 24hrs after sending. Would have been 10/10 had they paid me for the 40g ;) (Saying that, probably down to scale innacuracy, mines or theirs)
  • I was very sceptical about all the reviews about Hatton Garden Metals. I used them for the first time on 23rd August 2010. I weighed everything and got an estimate of £809 online. Locally I was offered £615 for my 9ct gold. Sent the gold and silver off by special delivery On Monday (with the forms they asked me to print) and the payment was in my account the next day (I was very impressed) and was only £4 less than expected (kitchen digital scales were used). They kept me informed throughout. Very happy with the price and service for broken chains and rings.
I cannot say enough how much I was pleased by their fast and professional service.
I would definitely use them again.

    • When did you use it - 23/08/10
    • What did you send it - 23/08/10
    • How much did it promise you - £175
    • How much did it deliver - £176
    • How efficient was the service - 10 out of 10
    • If it didn't deliver the full amount, what was its reason - N/A
    • Anything else other people should know - Had a ring knocking around for a while which I'd considered cashing in for a while, but was told I'd only get £40-ish for it a few years back, so left it in a drawer. Found it at the weekend and found HGM via MSE and was amazed at the value offer, which was increased by a quid (they all count!) due to sight increase in value. Very very happy with transaction and will tell family/friends.

  • Has anyone tried subscribing to their Mailing list? - I get the following corrupted email from a third party website in response to my attempts i.e

emails direct to HGM are not responded to either - I'm rather wary of this Company
  • I would thorough recommend this method of trading in your unwanted gold for cash. The website is easy to use, it shows you roughly how much your gold is worth with a confirmation email to follow. I sent my gold in only a few days ago (I paid approx £5 for insurance via the Post Office), received a confirmation of receipt followed by a cheque 2 days later. Brilliant service!
  • I've got to agree that HGM are not responding to emails.

I had success 1 week ago when Gary promptly sent me an email rapidly within 1 minute of receiving my initial enquiry. This time I was given a number but no on-line confirmation whatsoever. I waited and waited and still nothing. So I phoned and a girl advised me to "look in my junk mail to see if it was there"! I just wonder if the email sender is on holiday?

She advised me to write the number I had been allocated and send my gold in just with that number on a piece of paper as she said "they had my details from my email". I wonder if I've been too hasty because I have heard absolutely nothing at all from them. I just want confirmation that they have received my gold and it would be nice to know how much money I should receive. Especially as I sent
in my wedding ring. I wish I had waited now; even though I was
very pleased with my first attempt at doing business with them.
