  • Just sent off all my old bits to HGM after having a couple of quotes locally, paid immediately into bank, what a service! Will definitely recommend to all my friends, shame I don't have any more gold - could do with the money, will just have to follow the rest of the tips on here! thanks Martin!:j

don't think it would be financially viable to divorce the current wife just to cash in on the ring!

You could bump her off and bury her in the garden, it''ll cost you nowt, and if you leave her @rse sticking out you'll have somewhere to park your bike.

How many more first time poster threads from hatton workers ?
If you read all the posts you'll find 1 that says the email they send you has a link to this site to give good or bad feedback...think you and JDPower have read too many Dan Brown books:rotfl:...whats wrong with free ads anyway? Feel free to quote any bad feedback you have found on this company giving poor prices for gold and silver, but free ads are better than paying for their ads on the telly by giving a pitance for your gold and silver :T

Well they are not wanted on here and we don't like them. As such, we exercise our right to complain about them.

Or maybe we've just been on the Hatton and 'sell your gold' threads from the start and actually SEEN the spam posts that the forum was bombarded with and which were subsequently removed. But hey if you wanna believe spam is nothing but great free advertising that's up to you but you'll be disappointed looking for it here.

That's correct. The email they sned you confirmimg the amount they will pay you says this (copied and pasted from my email):

I do hope that you are happy with the service we provide. If so, please can you mention us to your family and friends. You can also use the forum on the Monery Saving Expert site to leave your comments - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2084905

Inevitably some of these will be first-time posters, if we get good (or bad) service from somewhere we like to let others know!

I have only ever used HGM for buying, they are a respected source for gold in the gold community.
I have no doubt that the positive feedback is genuine.
They even invite punters to check out MSE before you post off your gold.

They are not the only top payers in the "We want your old gold pool", These are two I have also bought off with no complaints. Prices are good. Strange MSE has not posted on them.

I'm also lobbying for support with my proposal for MSE to have a best price guide for gold on these threads. Please support.

What a service! Excellent! We sent a very heavy 9ct mens chain to "Postal Gold" who sent us a cheque for £176! I was so disgusted by the amount I immediately phoned them to return the chain. They then offered me another £100 extra, I again refused knowing the chain to worth a lot more than that. I saw the advert for Hatton Garden Metals on this website and decided to give it a go. They were absolutely brilliant. We had a rough estimate online of what to expect (which was nearly 4 times what Postal Gold had offered!)- but after sending the chain only yesterday morning have just had an e-mail confirming the amount which was in fact £30 more - £700 on its way to us. Fantastic! Would highly recommend them to everyone!

    Very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!:j

Before using HGM I went to see a friend who is a silver/goldsmith who went through my gold & silver and said that she doubted that she could get me much more by selling at the bullion dealer she uses - and I would have to have paid her fare up to London to sell it (more than the Special Delivery postage).

Some of the gold & silver had stones in, but HGM only deducted a couple of grams for these. Similarly, about 40g was foreign silver and possibly not 925 grade; however they didn't query this and paid it all out at 925 grade.

I'd worked out the minimum I should receive, but didn't take into account the possible low-grade silver or the weight of the stones - in fact they paid out £5 more than my estimate, so I was very pleased.

I sent off my gold & silver yesterday and the money was transferred to my bank account this morning.

I worked out the percentage of the gold fix price they paid out and I got 94.9%. They only paid out 68.7% on the silver, but I'm happy.

Thanks to all previous posters, as I wouldn't have risked using this company had I not had all the recommendations to go on. :)
