Used HGM to sell scrap by post several years ago, and the service was very efficient. Still is from reading these reviews.

Visited their premises in London to sell gold bullion for a relative over the counter last month (no appointment necessary). The transaction took about 15 minutes. Payment by bank transfer was made within minutes. That was a memorable experience. The customer area is quite a small room, and their staff are behind glass screens. Most people there were selling what with Brexit boosting the gold price in pounds, but one buyer, who was dressed Columbo-like and carrying two Tesco carrier bags, raised eyebrows all round when he emptied the contents to pay for purchases... it was £120,000 in cash (gulp).

10 out 10 for this company. I have just spent the last 4 days disposing of my old gold and silver that I have accrued over my working life. This cost me nothing, other than storage. They were very prompt at the valuation and payment and would highly recommend them; I will be using them again
.:rotfl::j Just to add the Post Office special delivery service, also came out tops.
  • I had occasion to call Hatton Garden Metals prior to using their service. The were very easy to contact and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Used their website on Tuesday 23 August and found it easy to use. I knew thew weight and ct of my gold so was able to get an accurate valuation. Posted the gold by Royal Mail special services as recommended by Hatton Garden Metals and everything went very smoothly. Within 24 hours I had the cash in my bank account. Hatton Gardens Metals accurately weighed and assessed my gold and the final amount I received was in line with their daily published rate.A very good company to deal with and I would not hesitate to recommend them. I will use their services again.
  • EXCELLENT SERVICE, quick and easy to use and received the money in my bank account next day, great price over £300 more than local jewellers, would use again and again with no worries
  • Calculated weight of gold and checked website on Wednesday, signed up and got email through within minutes explaining how to post etc, posted Thursday afternoon via Special Delivery £6.45 at the Post Office, money was in my account by 2pm Friday, over £100 more than quoted by high street jewellers.
  • Used Hatton Garden Metals 31/08/2016 after going to a local jewellers in Leeds & not impressed with the £400 offered. Sent a mixture of 9ct & 14ct gold chains, earrings and rings which included a 1/10th krugerrand, majority of which were broken beyond repair or I hadn't worn since the '90s. I did look into ebaying some of it as MSE suugests but looking at the prices on offer there it really wasn't worth the fees & wait vs Hatton. However should be noted, some of the earrings, I couldn't tell if they were gold or not but put those in as well. When I put the weights & info in online it cameback with an offer of £550. Signed up for an account, printed the info off from the email they sent me to include with the jewellery. I sent it special delivery before 1pm (insured upto £500) which cost ~£7.50. Got an email from Hatton within 8 hrs of receipt detailing weights of checked gold items & that, as I had expected, some of the earrings weren't gold so total paid out was £535 directly to my bank account which landed by end of working day 01/09/2016. Very efficient, hassle free service & very happy with the price given, would definitely recommend them and use them again.

I was delighted with this service I didn't know the exact weight of gold I was sending because one of my rings had a stone in it that I couldn't remove, I also sent an old watch with a gold casing so I know they would have to remove the working bits. I was very pleased with the £165 I received from them and it was all so quick and easy. Would definitely use them again and recommend them.
  • Another happy customer of Hatton Garden Metals. Sent off my jewelry yesterday and the money is now in my account. I had been meaning to use the service for ages, but, I was worried it might be a complicated process but it was so easy!
  • Sent of gold yesterday money in the bank today. No complaints fast and efficient service would recommend.
  • I used Hatton Garden Metals last week and would recommend them to anyone. I posted my gold to them in the afternoon and the money was in my bank within 24 hours. Got slightly more than was quoted because the price of gold increased overnight. £200 more than local jewellers were offering, well pleased.
