Can unreservedly recommend this service. I posted gold/silver by special delivery on Monday and received payment by bank transfer by midday on Tuesday. Price offered by HGM much higher than other jewellers/buyers. :T0

Would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has recommended Hatton Garden Metals.
I was thinking of selling a few bits of jewellery but didn't know who to use, so came here to see if there was any information on cash for gold companies.
Must admit I was a bit wary because I'd never heard of Hatton Garden Metals. Went to their website and put in the weight of the items - 3 pairs of 9ct gold earrings that I've had for years and hardly ever worn and a couple of fine gold bracelets. Used my kitchen scales to weigh the items which came to 16g, which they gave me a value on the site of £163.36. Posted the items off on Wednesday morning by special delivery. By 11am Thursday I'd got an email saying a cheque for £163.45 was in the post. Received the cheque this morning, so am off to bank it later. I've got a few more pieces that I never wear, so will be sending them off as well.

AND THEY ARE STILL COMING !!!! For the love of God Hatton Garden Metals please stop with this non sense. You might pay average or even good prices but this marketing campaign has run its course. JD Power has blown your campaign tactics wide open0 -

Righto so I've been looking into selling some gold away. Are Hatton Gardon metals scamming people or not? If they're not then I would be likely to trust them as they're located where all the legitimate guys are. But I'm very wary yea. A friend told me that they are linked to the compare-the-gold-price.com website. When I look at that site the prices never seem to change, even though gold changes by the moment. In my books this is a near-fatal red flag. Getting confused, has anyone got some info on these guys?0

Thanks for that JDPower. After a couple of hours trying to work this gold selling thing out I've made a breakthrough on these postal gold guys via a BBC broadcast http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01sd5gm. It looks like it is British gold refinery are scamming and giving the industry a bad name. They're running a comparison site compare-the-gold-price.com which funnels people into a bunch of sites all run by them. then they're basically stealing peoples gold. alarming insofar as their search rankings are probably capturing the market share.0

I`m just having a quick look through the posts on this thread as I`m thinking of using HGM.
Basically I dismissed the posts of newbies (no disrespect but some could be spam) and judged the posts of people who have used these boards a lot.
Nearly all of them rate HGM as OK.
Obviously I`ve not read every single post but the gist of it from the regular posters is it`s safe to use HGM.
Is this fair comment?0
