Looked on this website to see if selling gold was mentioned, and came across this section - with so many positive comments, I decided to take a chance and go for it. Sorted out quite a pile of old gold and a bit of silver, and followed the HGM website instructions before posting Special Delivery yesterday. Tracked my parcel which had arrived with them by 11 am this morning, and I got an email at 3 pm saying over £800 had been put directly in my bank account, and it was - result!:j HGM do exactly what they say, what more can you ask?

Items sent yesterday special delivery, money in bank today. Sell your gold etc to this company. They do what they say on the tin. :j

I've used Hatton Garden Metals on many occaisions and have been impressed with their service, but there is one concern I have. They will not accept anything with a fineness greater than 20 Carat unless it has a UK hallmark on it. I deal in scrap recovered from scrapped electronic components and have really no idea what the fineness is once it's been processed, except, according to Hatton garden Metals, it has never been better than 20 carats. It's always been 20 carats on all occaisions I've sent them scrap. They have always assured me that each ingot of scrap gold I send them is individually assayed, but I have my doubts...

Thank you MSE plus a big thank you to Hatton Garden Metals.I sent some jewellery (a mix of gold and silver) last week and within 48 hours I received the money direct into my bank account. I used the Special Delivery service of the Post Office and was impressed that the whole thing went very smoothly. It was easy to track my parcel and I could see exactly when HGM signed for it at 8.59am. By 3pm the money was on its way to my account and I received a confirming email. Incredibly impressed with HGM and I have already found some more stuff to send. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Used him yesterday. Cannot fault it. Completed online form and was given a value . Posted items yesterday and payment was in my account by midday. V happy with transaction and happy to recommend. :j

Following the instructions on Money Saving Expert I gathered up all my various gold bits and bobs, had valued and then sent it off to Hatton Garden Metals. Posted on Friday and by Tuesday the money was in my account. Very fast and efficient service every bit as good as advertised...highly recommend:j

Sent scrap gold and silver off to HGM yesterday afternoon. Money in my bank account this afternoon. Very happy with service. The online quote estimated £233.51 for 17g of gold and 61g of silver. Turned out to be only 38.3g of silver (I had put in a couple of silver coloured chains I wasn't sure about.) I received £222.07. Would definitely use them again. Very good to have quote before sending off goods. Delighted

I followed the advice on the site. Was given a price quote (£65 more than Tesco) sent off my stuff on Easter Saturday and the money was in my account by lunchtime Tuesday - the next working day! Seriously impressed. Thank you. And I will have far more fun with the money than I ever did with the jewellery which I never wore.
