  • hi everyone

ive just been converted to CO washing after reading this thread.

ive just washed my hair for the secong time using the tesco value conditioner and i cant believe the diffrence in my hair. its spotlessly clean and feels really soft.

I followed the instructions on the thread, saturated my hair with the conditioner and massaged it into my scalp, left it on for about 10 mins and rinsed it out really well til it felt squeaky clean.

I have not been doing my weekly coconut oil on my since CO washing, but last night I decided to start up again after reading that CO washing will get EVOil out really well. So coated my hair in Coconut oil and left it on overnight (as I would normally) I washed it out with conditioner this morning (thinking if its a greasy mess I have time to give it a shampoo).

I left my conditioner on for a few extra minutes, combed through with my wide tooth shower comb, rinsed and rinsed and it looks fab. Not greasy at all, so shiny and relaxed. So I now know that I can carry on with oiling my hair whilst CO washing

Glowgirl. Shame that it didn't suit your hair, but you gave it a go. Someone else on here said that it made their curls tighter. Do you use any other products that will help relax after you have CO washed?

I've just rewashed my hair with the coconut conditioner and left it to dry naturally and havent brushed it, it looks an absolute mess:( Its gone really dry and frizzy and huge:rotfl:I dont use any other products cos nothing seems to agree with my hair, I usually blow dry it straighter but had hoped not to do this anymore, I like my curls but only when they are behaving, I'll give it another go in the morning with the boots conditioner I used first of all, that will tell me if the coconut one is the problem or if its just my hair:rolleyes: I still love the CO method and want to stick with it but am I doomed to a life of blowdrying? Any suggestions are welcome:)

Glowgirl...how curly are you? I can't imagine not using any product on my curls, but I do find that the right product is essential. DH and my mum are also curly, and use different products to me after a trying lots of different things and combinations. For me Tigi Bed Head curls rock curl amplifier (in a blue pump dispenser) an frizz ease work, I mix the two together, where as the other tigi curls stuff does nothing for me.

Today, anyine with serious curls will share my amazement....I think I posted on here on wednesday about washing hair and having a great hair day...well, today would be day 5 if that is right...and my hair is still ok. I usually conditioner wash eer day or second day, at the very least dampening and rescrunching for curls, but I've lasted till to day with no real frizz, and even today a rescruch and some Gleam cream got me happy enough to wear my hair down.....this really ha never, ever happened five days on for me, ever in my life. An I've been rained on everyday I think: a killer for curly hir normally.

I don't know why the results should have been so very good, but I'm thrilled. In winter in prticular, this is a real bonus, instead of having wet hair in the cold.

My hair hangs in loose but defined curls on a good day, on a bad day, like today, its a bushy mess, I have tried so many products over the years, all of them just sit on my hair and make it look greasy, my hair is in reasonable condition and about shoulder length, I wear clip in wavy/curly extensions which make it waist length, with a view to growing my hair to this length:rolleyes: I have just noticed it says on the conditioner for dry/damaged hair, I bet I've bought the wrong one:o
