yes have the car we paid the £8,000 then drove away with the new car
Then it's their problem, you've paid what was agreed and they have supplied the car. Once your credit card company have reversed the transaction, then you are back to where you should be. It's not your fault if they think they have made a mistake with the paperwork. They had plenty of time to sort it out before you picked up the new car and scrapped your old one. You were not to know.

I fear they may well try to chase you for the £2,000 they think you owe them, either ignore them or maybe see a solicitor for peace of mind.
  • !chase me could do without that stress after all of this ..how much will a solicitor cost.

the contract was formed when you paid the 8000 and they gave you the car
consideration for the contract is your 8k and the car .
therefore you have bought a car for £8500 they have agreed to sell it for that

if a mistake was made then they would not be able to charge you the higher price later

I do alot of customer not present transactions, they need your credit card number(which they will have from there earlier receipt)your security number from the back of the card(which they should not have)and your house number and the numbers from your postcode(which they will have from the paperwork I presume)
I cant work how they have managed to charge you
