Did you ask them how they managed to charge another 2 grand to your card?!
Post #37 they wouldn't tell him.
Maybe you could photograph the invoice and show it? Was this invoice the only paper work you got?
I think at the end of the day, it may be a !!!! up, but as you have possession and have paid for and driven away.... Although they claim that you are "pulling a fast one" whilst that may be what they truly think you are doing (although you do not agree). As they are the professionals in this contract it is their responsibility to ensure all the paperwork says exactly what it should say. It is ultimately their fault that all this has happened. So I hope it all goes in your favour and it becomes a hard earned lesson for them.0 -
yes this invoice and a reciept for the deposit £500 and a reciept for the balance £8000. Both signed
Im worried about how they can use my card without the CV number.....0 -
*Edited my previous post*
One more thing... If you had turned up to collect your car and they had said
"Balance to pay 10,000, can I have your card sir?"
What would you have said?0 -

this is a load of ar5e.. according to the OP, the invoice makes no mention that they agreed to a 2k part ex value.. The balance is the balance is the balance which was £10000.
OP knows they owe the 2k, i'd put his new car on it.0 -

If you read the threads correctly you'll know the OP doesn't owe anything.
It's another issue that he may have paid 2k too much.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
he still would have had the oppurtunity to refuse the contract had not been formed
He might have complained and they would have said "we'll keep your deposit" (as they always do) Then he would now be fighting to recover his deposit.0 -

Errr no, i read it fine thanks.. I'm saying he owes the 2k that they took on the sly.
He can try playing silly !!!!!!s all he likes, but would wager that even if he gets a charge back done he will end up paying it eventually.0 -

And he just gave them his car for nothing when they had agreed to pay 2K? If he was to take the new car back to cancel the contract due to illegal withdrawl of money, what car will they give him back?
Anyway its not the amount its the way they Took the 2k which was dubious at least and possibly even unlawful. Taking this without permission should lose them their means of taking card payments.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

AFAIK...no. security number is always required for a cardholder not present transactions. I have no idea how they could have taken the extra 2k without knowing that information.
OP.....Can you check the bottom of your cc receipt...does it say "cardholder not present"...it shouldn't, if it does then they have used the terminal incorrectly and may well have your security number.
Hope you get it sorted.
