I accept your argument and withdraw to a darkened room to cry.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Will wait for the bank to refund me now will keep you all updated on this.0

I don't think the OP has ONCE given enough facts in all his posts put together to solve this puzzle..... jeez, like getting blood out of a stone.
I can quite see why people are suggesting he is trying it on.
What was the freaking price in the windscreen??
Did you not even ONCE discuss the screen price before talking about scrappage??
(OP, please don't answer, it will only be another riddle!!)0 -
I used to process card payments over the phone a lot and in the event we didn't have a security code it always went through with just the numbers from the postcode.
I know it's been said already, just wanted to add!0 -

I do agree, I'd like the OP to state if the car was on display with a windscreen price, of course we all know that a dealer can only have so many new models on display and the different versions all have different list prices with all the extras adding even more confusion. But it would be nice for OP to explain the pricing a bit more.0 -

Let's say for argument's sake, the garage did make a mistake and under-charged the OP. Is it the OP's responsibility or duty to point this out, or is it up to the garage to realise the mistake and rectify it in an appropriate way? I don't think making an additional charge on a customer's credit card without their presence or permission is appropriate or even legal, it's down right sneaky.0 -
IF and I say 'if' the garage were right that the OP underpaid, the garage should have called OP back in or wrote to him at home for the remainder of the money.
No way should they have taken it without his authorisation.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
^^ Agree with the points above, but all the responders to this post are making assumptions and guessing.
It would simply be nice for the OP to come clean about it all and say it like it is.0 -

Owes is present tense, paid is past. If the OP paid in his opinion 2k over the odds and the garage say he's paid the correct amount. What does he still owe?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
