I'm suggesting that the endless hassle over trying to find cards that work with Ryanair, with the endless comparison between cards and problems with booking - is it really worth 10 pounds per person for the time wasted?

Oh, you're back. I thought that you wouldn't want to show your face around here again, after your previous blunders. Either you have no shame or your face is made of sandpaper.

Your comments appear to be motivated by your hormones rather than actual common sense.

This forum is for people to share ideas on Money Saving, not for you to have someone to attack because you can't control your day to day irritations.

Try a psychologist. I'm sure we'll rally around to help you find the best value.
  • I dont know what all the fuss is about, we can still use our electron cards for free for at least another year?
Ryanair are not introducing Visa Electron charges now, next week or even next year.

Ryanair says they will accept a Prepaid MasterCard.

Actually Ryanair say they will accept a Prepaid Mastercard DEBIT!

Wonder if this is more sneaky stuff from Ryanair and there is a subtle difference between Mastercard Prepaid and Prepaid Debit?!!

I look forward to hearing the outcome of Neteller's discussions with Ryanair's payment provider...
  • JPD23 - is there actually a difference between a prepaid Mastercard and a prepaid Mastercard debit ? Since a prepaid card is by definition not a credit card (apart from special circumstances when the merchant doesn't need to get validation from the bank because the amount is very small), doesn't that make a prepaid card into a debit card by default ?

Not sure I'm afraid, I was just wondering aloud about possible reason(s) for Ryanair currently classing the Neteller card as a Mastercard (credit) not a prepaid...!

    Polishbigspender is spreading misinformation.

Ryanair will be charging fees on flights booked with Electron from January 1st, 2010.

I'm guessing that Max was simply reminding PBS of one of her past transgressions.

Has anyone applied for the ICE sterling traveler`s card yet, with the only charge being a 2% load fee but can be used nearly everywhere in the UK and how much info do ICE require from you?

Applied last night. You need to open an account first with your personal details, password etc. Then when you go to purchase currency or a card , they want either passport details or driving license details. Used UK passport, full number (the long number at the bottom of the ID page) and expiry date. Loaded it with £150 (cost £153) now waiting for it the card to arrive. PIN apparently arrives first, within 12 days then the card follows a day or two later.

As I never pay more than £10 per flight I should save at least £72 when booking Ryanair flights using the ICE prepaid rather than any other payment method next year.

    Very easy process.

Have just purchased FairFx card via MSE link and got away with only loading £10 rather than the £100 stated in the MSE article.
  • Well. I would not recommend anyone use Neteller. While it was simple to setup an account, the virtual card DOES NOT work with Ryanair. Ryanair's payment system does not recognise it as a pre-paid mastercard, it see's it as a mastercard CREDIT card.

I brought this to the attention of Neteller support and they "looked into it" and came back to me yesterday, asking me to contact Ryanair. I'm not calling a premium rate number to sort out Neteller's problem - and they're still advertising on their twitter account that their virtual cards work with Ryanair?

    THEY DON'T!
