MSE News: Ryanair to charge for Visa Electron bookings

I can't believe Ryanair are trying to cheat on this as well. It clearly says that Net+ is a Prepaid card, but I guess Ryanair only want to accept their own brand card, that's unethical, I think.Been trying for the last hour to book a flight on ryanair.com using my Neteller Net+ virtual pre-paid mastercard.
It does not work. Ryanair does not recognise the card number as being a pre-paid mastercard. As a test, I selected 'mastercard' as the payment method, and it recognised the card (but would not let me purchase as the mastercard €10 fee pushed me over the amount of funds I have on the Net+ card).
Neteller said Ryanair.com wasn't even ATTEMPTING to authorise the card.
Anyone else had this problem? Infuriated that I have missed out on a return Dublin>London flight for €15!0 -

Hmm I wasn't suggesting that at all :-)
I've seen people on here say they've booked using the neteller prepaid, so I think it's just a glitch on their payment system tonight, as their booking system is offline for maintenance right now.0 -
Well, the booking system is working again - but still rejecting my prepaid mastercard saying it's not a prepaid! GRRR.0

nbaki82 joined the forums only yesterday and has only posted on this subect about 12 times.
Up to then probably no one had heard of Neteller.com.
It now appears he/she has a vested interest and therefore this is posted on the wrong board.

A Google search shows he/she also joined other forums specifically to post about this product, and even spammed the comments column of a Guardian news article about these Ryanair changes (now removed and comments closed)0 -

Board guides take note (if there are any)
Whilst I am dubious of nbaki82, your comment regarding neteller is far from correct. I (and many others) have used neteller for matched betting for a long time.Gone ... or have I?0 -

This is because, unlike banks, the company maintains over 100% of deposited funds in separate trust accounts, separate from its operating cash, i.e. all of the customers cash is on hand and available if they all wanted it at the same time.

Whomever wrote that is a liar and a scammer.
And a salesman.0 -
Can anyone confirm the 1st 4 digits on their prepaid Mastercard? These, I believe identify the card type. To avoid anyone thinking I am a scammer my PPMC begins with 53380

I have contacted Neteller's support and they promised to get in touch with Ryanair to solve the solution.
You can accuse me of advertising Neteller, but what have I said wrong?
Ryanair says they will accept a Prepaid MasterCard. It clearly says even in Wikipedia and the award that was recently given to Net+, identified it as a prepaid card.

The fact that Ryanair is again trying to have double and triple standards for recognizing as prepaid card only the ones they choose is the issue of Ryanair, not Neteller.
I am still of a view that Neteller's Net+ is the best Prepaid MasterCard and hard to beat in terms of fees.0 -

I have no idea why you include a quote by me, as the content of your post gabbles on about a matter unrelated to what I said.
Until this post, people would have been unaware of any dispute between Neteller and Ryanair about accepting the card (if that is your intended meaning).0
