No, any credit to the account qualifies, regardless of where it comes from.

I thought that internal transfers (e.g. from savings accounts, though not sure of the type) didn't generate the reward, although share transaction payments did.

I'll have to double check my statements.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to ring them, surely they can oblige if me & the wife are moving all our business away from Barclays to them, they should welcome us with open arms!

We would need in total -

4 current accounts - 2 each, one for salary and one for spare cash (these would not have to be a reward account)

2 joint current accounts, one for bills and one for food shopping.

I can't compromise as this has worked very well for us, we know exactly what we have each month.

You can try by all means, but I think there is a limit of three current accounts per customer, joint, sole, reward or otherwise.

They have become strict - you can have only one Reward joint and one Reward sole account in you name i.e. 3 Reward accounts between 2 people. However, you could open an Everyday a/c which does not give you £5 and does not have £1000/month funding rule. You can manage all these account online with a single login so it is all very convenient.

The Reward account limit is one single and one joint per person, so this would cover three of your accounts.

The other accounts would have to be Current Accounts - identical in every way to the Reward account except that you won't get the £5 Reward. Still, you'll get £15/month between the two of you, so can't complain too much!

Thanks guyz, that's great! I'll go in the weekend into a branch to do this. once open, i'll put some money in as advised and leave for a few days and make sure it's all up and running, then i switch the DD's, salary etc next month as most come out on the 1st-4th of the of the month.

No I don't think there is any overall limit.
I certainly have more than 3 current accounts with Halifax.
