I want a girl :j I have 2 boys and they dont seem to like pink  :rotfl:

To be completly honest, I dont think labour hurts, but I am one of those weirdos that enjoyed it. To me the things that annoys me the most is that once you get quite progressed and have less than a minute between contractions you dont get chance to catch your breath after the last. Its amazing how you can go from having this "pain" take over you then a few seconds later its gone and you feel normal.

But one thing I can promice you, the second she is out and you look at her, every single ounze of pain you have been in will all be forgotten :) Its like a distant memory.

Anyway what you doing up at this time, you should be in bed resting :naughty: :rotfl:

You can buy raspberry leaf in tea or tablets. Also Google 'Blue Cohosh' for info.

First babies can be tricky but labour doesn't stop women from having more children so it's not THAT bad. It's painful but it's only a day (or two) in your life ....... it's character building :).

Don't be scared, your body will do all the work, you just have to relax and breath.

    :)

rasberry leaf tea (you can have it in capsual form as well) is fab, it tones the uterus ready for labour and can also stimuate contractions to begin as its doing this. I took it with my last and I only had a 2 hour labour with him as apposed to 9 with my first and I belive that the rasberry leaf tea.
i drank it with my last pregnancy and had a 30minute labour! as apposed to the 13 hour i had with my son. though from what i have been told this only really helps if you start taking it from around 35 weeks ish all the way through to the end

i have heard pineapple is supposed to be good to, also the majority of midwifes suggest sex though if its not possible i can completly understand i can barely walk at the moment let alone have sex stupid SPD  been like it since i was around 4mths pregnant.
Try going for a long walk, eating spicy foods try the pineapple. Anything which you think may help give it a go you wont know unless you try :rotfl:

best of luck for when it doesnt happen though you wont need it coz ul be fine just remember to breathe ;)

you may find more suggestions on https://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk i have found it a huge help thorughout my pregnancy even though im on my 3rd i didnt think id need any advice but all the girls on there are great and really supportive. ;)

Just to reiterate - if your baby is not ready to be born, no amount of induction activity is going to get her out. Try to relax (yes I know!) and let your body and your baby get on with what they already know how to do.

Maybe your baby isn't quite in the right position to be born yet - let her get there and then let nature take its course.

Yes, labour is likely to be a bit uncomfortable! But staying upright and mobile when your labour is established will help you to cope. Stay at home as long as you can and remember that the same kind of atmosphere that gets a baby made (quiet, dark, warm, loving) is the one to get a baby born.

    Enjoy!
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

Can't really offer any advice as I've had 3 girls and they were all late. Tried everything with the first 2 and nothing worked and the 3rd time I was induced, the first 2 were really frustrating as they were 11 and 10 days late and everyone I saw at the weekly clinic had all had theirs, must be my fault because I loved being pregnant and maybe just didn't want to part with them. She'll come when she's ready, I know it can become frustrating but I would say just enjoy the last couple of days with it being just the two of you as when the baby is born your life changes so much. The transition from being pregnant to being a mum is amazing and it's such a wonderful experience.

I agree with you iwanttosave, I loved every minute of the pregnancy and labour. I was lucky though as the longest labour I had was 5 hours although with my 3rd I had been having mild contractions for about 14hrs. I'd love to have another one but can't afford a bigger house or car, it's just not practical but if I won the lottery I'd definately go for it. Youngest is nearly 3 now and going to nursery so I'm getting really broody now.

Hope you don't have to wait too long to meet your daughter, enjoy every minute of it. The first time she looks at you with her scrunched up little face is a memory that will stay with you forever.

    Good luck.
