  • I, too, have just had a call from these people, I am TPS registered so I asked for the company name and phone number - the asian man talking (in almost broken english!) apologised and refused to give me the number, saying he had my home number as I was in a car accident! I dont drive, nor own a car, or even go in one these days! I asked for his manager and he cut me off.... their number DID come up, but it is an 'invalid number' i.e. no valid UK dialling code and not enough digits in the number. The mind boggles....
  • Same MO with Number unavailable. When I started to question the same accented male who said he was based in Birmingham he got very abusive and shoted down the phone I was a F
    C--- and a M
    F
    P
    Nice guy.

Hey....we should hold a HOTLIST for who manages to keep them on the phone for longest. I just had them hang up after 52 minutes. I played the Ruprecht 'card' (anyone who's seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrells will know what I mean).......so

WHO holds the record for wasting their time longest?????

Had a text message from the AIB last night. :)

From an accident I don't remember having, and a claim I don't remember submitting for an accident I can't remember having (concussion must have been bad!) I've been awarded £3750. All I have to do is reply to the text with my bank account details.....

    Yeah right.

you can see the other 'marketing' campaigns those call centres are doing here
(the strange 091xxx numbers are the ones):

everything from the ongoing council tax scam, pc tech support scam, and 'fake' credit card charging etc...... Every cold calling con scam and fraud we read about can be found there.
  • I have today had a phone call from an "unavailable" listed number, the caller stating his name is Mike and is ringing from NHS Accident Investigation. He spoke with an Indian accent, and I did not understand him at first. He repeated the information three times, told me he had received information that somebody at this address had had an accident, would I please give him the name of the person. I told him nobody had had an accident, he said "Not at work? Not in the car? not falling over on the pavement?" I said NO, and he became very abusive and shouted at me to just give him the name of the person who had had an accident. I told him not to get shirty with me, nobody had had an accident and he said his information must be wrong. I was very rude to him, and told him where to get off then put the phone down.

I had a call yesterday. As soon as I heard "Someone from your address has been in an accident" I put the phone down.I find it's the best way to deal with them.
