Anyone had a call from Accident Investigation Bureau?

Yes! Just had a call from accident investigation bureau!!
An Indian "gentleman" said he was calling about a recent accident recorded at this address! I was really surprised to get this call as not only ex directory, we are also registered with the preferential call service to prevent cold callers AND have not had an accident!!! He said it could be anyone at this address and any type of accident in the last 3 years. I was in the middle of cooking dinner so he got the benefit of my short temper! I told him that i thought he was fishing! thanked him very much for his " thoughtful" call and hung up!! I realised that I had also had a call from them earlier today as I dialled 1471 when I missed an earlier call!! When I dialled 1471 it said the callers details are not available!! I felt a bit guilty about how rude I was so googled them! Glad I put the phone down. Ps he was very persistent!

Also had a call asking if I have had an accident in the last 3 years.Call from an Indian /Pakistani accent.The telephone number was 0034534567

Be aware that these scam phone calls have resurfaced.

Asian lady cold called me today, saying she needed to confirm my name and address, etc, because of a claim for a road traffic accident. Said she was a government officer phoning from the Accident Investigation Department, Road Safety Office, Wellington Street, Sheffield, S1 4HP, phone no. 0141 628 5599 but Caller ID showed the number as 01392 580994.

She refused to tell me who had made the road traffic accident claim and became very agitated when I asked her to provide verifiable proof that she was who she said she was. Then an Asian man took over from her and again tried to pressure me into giving my personal details. When I refused to do so he just hung up.

I have an ex-directory phone number that is registered on Telephone Preference Service to block cold calls so I don't know how they got hold of it. I've googled "Accident Investigation Dept" and found out that it is a phone scam that tries to get you to disclose your name, full address and bank details.

The UK dialling code 0141 is for Glasgow! Good for you in not giving out any details.

Received call from Accident Investigation Bureau on my landline...ex-directory and only used by family for free calls. Googled whilst on phone and discovered this thread so told caller I wasn't interested and please remove my number from database. Then spent another 10 minutes trying to convince me that I was entitled to compensation, blah blah. I told him I didn't want compensation, there had been no injuries, stress etc etc. I also stated that it was because of 'schemes' like this, that insurances etc were increasing in cost as everyone was claiming for everything: I'm not like that, and asked, for a 2nd time, for number to be removed. He agreed.
Blow me if I didn't get another call just 30 mins later!!
Restated request and hung up.
1471 revealed that number call was made from was 01525 621648.

Now in my list of numbers not to answer!:dance::dance::dance:

If the 01525 code is genuine (which I doubt) then it is from the Leighton Buzzard, Beds area

Just had a call from 01525621648 asking about an accifent that someone in my household had apparently had. No one has and he then gave me anothwr number of 01905570893 which is CHG water services?
This was a cold call, but is the CHG company aware that they are giving out their telephone number?
Anyone had a similar call?
