yesterday I called the helpline number then immediately pressed "1" to get through to the website problems helpline - otherwise if you hang on you get a message saying they are really busy because of the success of their Xmas sale, then they cut you off!
I'm going to contact my visa company and ask them to suspend the payment - that'll pee Index off.

u say 'the ball is in index's court' but they are littlewoods and there is absolutely nuffin they will do.  They have taken money from u and unless u fight for weeks on end u wont see a penny of it back.  Sitting back and waiting for some miracle is going to get u nowhere.  At the moment they dont care about u, they dont care about what is on this board, they dont care about letters sent to them.

Ive been here before, i was billed for items at twice the price I had on my order confirm from them.  I still havent had the money back and this was in october.  And not a single day goes by that I dont either write them a letter of complaint recorded delivery or phone them.

Small Claims Court - or threat of - sent to CEO/Director by recorded delivery usually works a treat in these circumstances.

I've done it myself with almost instant results!

Don't issue idle threats, though - and make sure you are in the right with all the facts.

    Hi

went into my local index today and found on one of the shelves a weekly amendment sheets book dated 6/01/05 its got listed all mistakes in catalogue .

in current cat in shop it shows printer with the cat number for the usb thing at £19.99

in this sheet it states incorrect catalogue number and price printed to order please key in 110-185 correct price for this item is £89.99.

i have this sheet if anyone needs/wants a copy

    hth someone?

If you dont mind holding onto it it, I think it may well become helpful to a lot of people. Dont spose u have a scanner?

I'm wondering if the issues are getting confused here a little?

Getting a refund was never a problem....Index are happy to collect the item from you free of charge and to issue a refund.

I don't want a refund though....I want my printer. I am holding onto my USB thing for the time being otherwise if it is returned and a refund is issued, then Index will argue that the contract has ended.

They are welcome to keep my money for the time being.

The differing advice we've been getting is apparently down to whether the contract was formed under Scottish Law or English Law.

It also has nothing to do with where Index is based but is dealt with by whatever law applies where the customer is based, so I'm told.

Personally I think the law of Commmon Sense should apply and they should just send us all printers! ;D

Great deal with a great price
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots
  • You pay £19.99 for a printer and get a £5.00 memory pen, NOT such a great deal! :o
