Has anyone scanned the Index book?
I didn't, but I did 'scan' the amendments sheets...nothing!0 -
whoop-dee-doo -I'm not giving up either.
To MOST of us its only £20.00 . However, from Index's point of view I think this is going to really bite them on the*rse. They've been caught sleeping a lot of printer have been sold and it's going to cost them. Ultimately if they don't cough up the goods (which I believe they'll have to, EVENTUALLY) they will be shown in a very poor light.0 -
Snowboarder I disagree. As I recall Littlewoods is still effectively a private company, which means we can't affect its share price by whinging to Watchdog or Trading Standards, and we can't go along to the AGM and give the Chairman merry Hell.
I believe they couldn't give a s*** what we think or do. "You ain't getting the printers so !!!!!! off!" seems to be the message so far.
We could always bombard their customer services email system with messages and reserve huge amounts of stock instore on a Friday night, thereby stopping them selling it on the Saturday. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Biglugs
It's not always about the chair, the CEO or even the stakeholders. We as members of the general public are renown for having short memories. By that I mean we are too forgiving, we return to unreliable/unscrupulous retailers, like eeer o'yes INDEX, time and time again. However, if public dissatisfaction is highlighted, as in this particular instance, and brought into the public domain via the media and word of mouth through forums like this, then for that short period of time Index and companies like them may see income fall and their profits reduced. Then in time they MAY come to understand we are NOT the mugs they take us for.
If my memory serves me correctly Ratners was also a non public company. Now what happen to them again and WHY?
Anyway I'm climbing down from my BIG soapbox and going to bed.
;D ;D ;D0 -
as anybody heard from watchdog? my trading standards got back and they were a waste of time.
I am going to send a letter to index with copies of printouts and my bank have witheld payment so I will just wait and see what they do next. What I can;t
understand is if the store corrected the code 9th dec why did'nt they update the internet ? I ordered 6th jan
is'nt that false advertising?0 -
they knew we were not going to receive a printer they should of told us then we would of had a choice,we would of respected them for that, instead they led a lie and carried on with it, in fact they were not going to tell us at all, even the confirmation email was for a printer and not a usb, so theyre at fault and should not be let to get away with it. they dont actually sell the usb they sent to us, so surely this in itself should raise questions.
this is what i wrote to them
i feel that on this occasion you attempted to diddle me knowing full well that i would not receive the printer and carried on and sent something i did not order anyway.
THEREFORE this item was totally sent out of the blue i did not order it and neither did i expect to receive it!!! Therefore i am accepting it as an unconditional gift and want my account credited accordingly.
will wait now for their excuses.0 -
just got this back from my local trading standards
We have your email.
A trader is not obliged to sell anything to anyone unless he wishes.
However, if a contract was made between you and Index, they would be 'in breach' were they to fail to supply the product which they agreed to sell and you agreed to buy. In such a situation you would, at first sight, be entitled to more than 'just your money back' although you may be forced to take a county court small claim action to enforce your rights.
We advise you write to index claiming that they agreed to supply the item ordered and, as it appears they can not do so, suggesting that you are entitled to more than just your money back. Keep a copy of your letter and get a certificate of postage.
Whether there was a contract depends on more than an order by you and a confirmation by Index. Their website's terms and conditions would also be important.
Depending on Index's reply you may wish to seek further advice. Please feel free to contact us again.
For some reason we do not have the confirmation attachments to which you refer in your original email. So, if you return to us for further advice, we would ask that you send those again.
We hope this information is of use.
DUDLEY TRADING STANDARDS.
if anyone has 5mins to write them a reponse i will email it to them (i woudl bet have a load of work on thsi week)0 -

i totally agree .... if they had of sent an email cancelling the order like they did to some people i would have been content with that but because they took the money from me ,confirmed my order etc.. then sent me 2 crappy things that i do not want, i ordered 2 printers one for me and one for my brother inlaw its his birthday tomorrow should have known it was to good to be true0 -
Hang on, so if we do just get a refund, the delivery costs of £4 will not be refunded?
Thats just outrageous!0
