I know its a long shot so please no sarcastic coments!
Is it worth asking other forums if anyone has bought the printer at full price using the the code from the catalogue. It would prove that it was just a pricing error and not an incorrect item code on their web site and Index are just trying it on by sending the memory sticks
Already been asked before. Someone already tried the code instore the 110-085 and its belongs to the USB Databar, but that item would never must sold much since the code in the book gives a different picture, so noone knew about it.0 -

Fair comment but I doubt anyone has. Although the 110 085 code that we ordered shows in the catalogue as the printer, the amendments sheet dated 09/12/04 at the back of the instore catalogue state that this is incorrect. The in-store stock checker also had the USB stick under our code as well.
As regards the ASA I don't think they can go any further as the £19.99 was not on the catalogue page they ask for and the instore catalogue is properly amended, even the catalogues you take home, say to check the instore catalogue before you buy. This is a website issue that ASA can't get involved with.
Not to despair though, there is still Trading Standards, Watchdog and goodwill people power!0 -
Ow well it was worth a try.
I didnt actually buy the printer but I have been following this thread from the beginning.
Very frustating for everyone who ordered
And Im sorry Aliasojo but its also funnier than the argos thread ;D
Apart from MarkR and his pink handbags of course ::)0 -
I assume when we get our refunds it won't include the postage costs? You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

If we have to accept a refund I hope they include the delivery charge as well. It was their mistake not ours0 -
They made the mistake not me!
There's no way I'm going to be out of pocket for their mistake.
I don't give a toss if it is only 3 or 4 quid for delivery, there's a point at stake now!Herman - MP for all!0 -
The £3 or £4 postage can be cover by giving us the storage pen FOC ;D0

Hang on a mo people, I wasn't saying it's over.
As an earlier poster mentioned, the ASA were not going to be a lot of use anyway in these circumstances. This was always a trading law issue.
We have only found out these instore facts after we placed our order, received a confirmation & acknowledgement and Index have taken our cash. Anyway, sod instore, we placed an internet order.
Although Index's T&C's state that a contract is only formed when they despatch the goods (i.e printer), I doubt that would stand up in a brothel let alone a court. Purchases sometimes read along the lines of 'Title to the goods remains with the supplier until paid for in full'... we have done that.
As for Index not refunding delivery costs, don't make me laugh.0 -
Has anyone scanned the Index book?
My scanner isn't working but I did take a couple of digital pics of the page which I've offered to send on.
I need to go log off now, it's Gale force out there tonight and the weather is making my electricity suply flicker. Computer has already lost power and switched off so I think I better shut down for the night.
See you all tomorrow. ;DHerman - MP for all!0 -
