advertising standards try these the more of us that do will just have to make them try and sort it out, they ask you attach web pages but I am not very good at that type of thing so it would be good if somebody could0 -
Had they forgotten that the same item with the same code is in the catalogue? ::)
This would be fine if they hadn't formed a contract, but they have.
They have already agreed to sell a printer for £19.99 by their email confirmation and the fact they took payment.
No use bleating about mistakes now.
Alaisjo, is this the current catalogue?? What page and item number is this???

Does anyone know what 110-085 in the catalogue comes up instore, since there claiming its a USB flash, although it doesnt make sense why you would advertise that product on page 362 of the digital processing, development and accessories section.0

has anybody found our freecom databar on index web site since I have tried and they don't sell the 64mb
this might be the proof we need0 -
Don't have an Index near me so difficult to check instore. However it looks to me like they realised their mistake very early on, and decided to get round it by sending out a pile of the cheapest and lightest items they had available (to keep down on courier and return costs?), and will try to argue that this was a genuine web mistake.
Which might have been OK if they hadn't already got this item in their catalogue with the same code that they confirmed my order for, and the item they sent out wasn't available from them before.
Now awaiting a response from local TS before proceeding. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

Its not in the current catalogue from what i can tell, see page 412/413 respectively and quickly scimmed the rest of the catalogue and i cant see it.0 -
Well that's my letter to Head Office off now, sent by recorded delivery so they can't say they didn't get it, lol.
I had a certain amount of sympathy for Woolies/Virgin/Tesco with regard to the Gamecube thing since it appeared that their supplier was perhaps to blame for their price errors, but I have no sympathy for Index at all.
They compounded their code error by sending out an item which they knew was not what had been ordered in the hope people would just return it and quietly get a refund.
I object to being treated like I'm stupid, they did after all tell me I had ordered the wrong thing, then they said a website error had been made, when the same item and code is in their catalogue too.
They had a 'that's just tough' attitude and are not in least concerned about customer satisfaction. Respect is a two-way street, but I feel that Index are happy to ride roughshod over customers with regard to this and that bugs me.....it's just not fair.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I've just complained to the ASA.
I haven't received a reply from my email to Index as yet.0
