Hello everyBne! Bargain Rzl...yes, here i am, back in front of my lappy in NI. I got back last night, and I am still v.v.tired. I had a fab time in London, caught up with lots of people but now feel a bit homesick. I went to Windsor to see the Queen's exhibition of photos - I'm not that much of a royalist, but I really enjoyed the exhibition. Unfortunately you have to pay into the Castle (£13.50:eek:) to see them rather than pay a separate cover charge just for them, so I had a v.rapid whizz around. I also did some baking at my friend Lucy's house - Banana Bread (using Penny Pincher's recipe) which was a big hit with everyone, a carrot cake and some scones. All was devoured v.quickly after exit from the oven.
Now that I'm back I have to get myself organised - sorry I haven't managed to catch up on what's been occurring here never mind do any London washing. I want to mention that the mini-meet was really good fun, and it was fabulous to meet Catznine (and v.funny OH), BargainRzl and Shez. Catznine - Hope your conservatory look stunning and have a wonderful time on your holiday - you are giving Judith Chalmers a run for her money these days, aren't you!
Ooo I am soooo tired, could do with anothe r40 winks.
Bye for now everyone

Hello everyone! Yesterday was somewhat busy even though it seems I achieved nothing
. Spent the day as a taxi, and today looks like it'll be the same, but somehow I have to squeeze in cooking for tonight and getting my 'kit' packed for tonight (Party plan - not the 'naughty' kind
)
I haven't even had time to read all the daily posts properly so I hope everyone is well and ((hugs)) to everyone who needs them. I'm going to have to find some time to give some serious thought to establishing some routines and order in my life, as well as deciding whether some things I do are really worthwhile. It's not that I do too much, just that these bouts of exhaustion mean I get behind with things. Yesterday after ferrying the kids around for over 3 hours with one break (long story) I was totally wiped out. Managed to shove some Naan bread ingredients into BM and crawlled into bed. Got up hour later only to discover that I'd measured out water - but not added it
Ok - off to continue the taxi round.... somehow I think £25 for fuel won't quite last this week.......
Missing reading all your posts, hopefully get to catch up soon,

hello all
((((((hugs))))))) to everyone who's under the weather or just having a bad day.
VickyA - have a great time at the ceremony. I've never heard of that award before. why was your dad given it?
not much happening here. had my weetabix breakfast with some vanilla sugar (i used the seeds of half a pod in a cake last night and popped the pod in the sugar bowl. the sugar takes up the flavour, it's quite good). Have washing out on the line and should really put another load in, but i'm feeling lazy. it's bright but cloudy here. maybe i'll go for a nice long walk with little furry monster here. but in the meantime i'm just lazing around.
hope everybody's day gets brighter.MFW Newbie - #17. (#116 in 2019)

Anyway, time for me to get on with trying to find the desk from under all the papers that have appeared. Not to mention the washing up, and the huge pile of Ebay stuff that needs photographing, weighing, and writing up:eek:At least I know everything I want to declutter will be out of the house by 23rd June at the latest as thats the date of the school's Summer fair and I always send my "left overs" there :T:rotfl:

Hi everyone!
Haven't posted for a few days as it's always a bit manic in my household during the holidays [not that I'm on hol I'm at work!] but having been lurking during my lunch time as I need my regular fix.
Had a day off earlier in the week for the small person's 8th birthday....he asked me in the morning if I thought he looked any taller and looked quite disappointed when I said no!:rotfl:
Anyway the elephant cake was well received [once you got past the unattractive gun metal grey icing] and we all enjoyed a jaunt over to Chislehurst Caves.
Seem to have done a lot of catching up this week. Have made my quarterly trip to Lidl [it's not that local and so not cost effective to go more regularly] and now the cupboards, freezer and my extra storage space in the garage are chocca!
Finally managed to get my windows done and I think I'm going to have to force myself out into the garden to tidy that up. May visit a bootsale on Sunday to see if there are any plants. Not very OS but never actually been to one before.
Pleased to report that the BM is working again..took it into the repairers and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Think it must have had a loose connection which sorted itself out when it was joggled around in the car.Typical!!
Made some of my own Earl Grey tea last night following the tip on the board- am v.pleased with the result.
Am having a very un OS chinese takeway with friends tonight and then other friends over to dinner tomorrow. Weather looks like it should be fine so will have a BBQ...OH made some HM baps last night [BM is solely his dept!] and I shall make some salads and a ginger and lemon cheesecake which I'm trying out tomorrow for the first time. Have also got the tough assignment of visiting one of our local gardens [Leonardslee] to drop off a piece of OH's miniature furniture that they've ordered for their permanent dollshouse display. They've sent us a free ticket to deliver it and I only felt that it was fair that I should volunteer to do it!!!:j :j
Have a great OS weekend

Aril would you mind me asking what name your OH sells his furniture under? I collect hand made British miniatures, and you never know, I might have some of his stuff!0 -
Hello everyone!
Didnt get to post yesterday, anyway......I have been in the charity shops today and got a bit of kitchen kitsch - one of those ceramic hen you put your eggs in!!!!!!! in very 70s brown (lovely  ) am I sad or wot???
Also got a set of old fashioned scales with imperial weights plus little apron for DD and toy truck for DS2.
Glad to hear you enjoyed windsor/London trip snowy.

Woo-hoo, Friday afternoon! :j Am I glad this week is over. I woke up this morning & for a split second thought it was Saturday, but then the clanging bell of doom (AKA alarm clock
) brough me crashing back to Friday reality.
On the plus side, the weather is nice, my washing is blowing on the line & I've just found a long-forgotten mars bar ice cream in the freezer.
Dinner tonight is chicken something or other & plan for tomorrow is either a picnic or barbeque.
I listened to Martin on Jeremy Vine at lunchtime, v amusing. He's what my Nana would have called a contrary bu99er!
Well done on the freecycle laptop ageandjo & congrats to VickyA's Dad on his freedom of the city. Hope all of you that are feeling under the weather perk up in time for the weekend.0
