It is so rare for me to be that organised -that's why I felt the need to mention it!:o
Up until last week, I had a basket full of un-ironed stuff in the conservatory and another pile hiding in the spare bedroom:o
So I am feeling pleased with myself :j ...

Afternoon All
((((Hugs)))) to all that need/want them sounds like 'one of those days' today.
By the way Mushypeas you dont need to thank us, think we all have been there at one time or another.
Had a nice day as had friends over who treated us all to lunch, it was lovely but downside is that my to do list covers a least three pages and wanted to get loads done by the weekend so can really enjoy the mini heatwave that has been promised. Am drinking strong coffee to hopefully get enough get up and go to do some washing and housework now but really im a morning person.
Hate to say it but havnt enjoyed this holiday with the kids this time, normally i love it - days out and little lie ins but this time they have just been driving me mad. Everytime I try and have a conversation with an adult they interupt me or do something silly to get my attention, every time the phone rings they 'have' to talk to me. Even in the bath the othernight I was bothered about 5 times! Also dd doesnt go to bed as early nowdays so dont seem to have any 'me' time. They dont like going to my inlaws (they are v old fashioned) and my family live too far away. Sorry to whinge but just had to get it off my chest! However I promised them a trip to the pictures tomm and if they dont behave they wont be going to Legoland on Mon (courtesy of Mr T). Anyway rant over. Will sort my in pile in my office then another load in the washing machine and will do some cleaning.
Hope you all have a lovely evening.0 -
Yes please, a gin & tonic would be lovely right now! I've just put a bottle of wine in the fridge, so bang goes my "no drinking at home" rule. Ah well.....needs must. Just had the pleasure of throwing the bouquet of flowers given to me by the garage yesterday back at the manager with all the heads snapped off. Extremely childish & achieved nothing other than making me smile, so it was worth it!
Mozzarella meatballs for tea; Yum. AND I've been to the gym this afternoon :A0 -

Have had a serious cupboard sort out in the kitchen(all down to Anthea! ) but still got a bit to do, but it does look better I must say.
Catowen - have seen my Mum today and she acted as if nothing had happened:rolleyes: but still at least things are back to normal. Hope you get your problem sorted before your holiday!
Am off to a carboot in the morning as we've both got the day off!:j then OH said we may treat ourselves to lunch out at Pizza hut(DS1 just discovered at 16 that he actually likes pizza!:j )
Am enjoying the X factor on Tv at the moment so must get jobs done in time!

Evening all
Hugs to all that need them......Anyone seen Purplegirluk lately??????
Nothing remotely OS today I'm afraid - been to G.O.S.H for DD2's appointment, which lasted all of 10 mins!!!! We've got to go back in 6 months and we've been referred to a orhopedic specialist in the mean time as her spine has started to curve........(he did say he'd try and get a local one rather than keep traipsing to London every few months).
Train fare for all of us, plus taxi fare, lunch and entry to London Aquarium (wasn't organised enough to order some tesco deals) cost us £101  Luckily I'd budgeted for £85.....so not too bad.
We've been in for half an hour - DH has made DD's some nuggets and chips for tea (straight from the freezer) and I'm just about to relax with a glass of wine and a bar of choc.
Hope you've all had a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Evening folks
A bit of a late post as had a hectic day.
Car was booked in this morning for an MOT. Got there at 9 and the mechanic told me it would be a "few hours" and he would phone me when it was ready. So I waited for a bus home....what a nightmare...took an age to get one then I started to feel sickly as I am not a very good passenger at all.
Anyway, got home and ten mins later (what happened to the few hours?!?!?)the garage phoned to say all the car needed was a new tyre :j :j :j :j
One sickly bus journey later and I had my car back and on the way to Morrisons.
Got all my shopping in Morrisons and Lidls (spent a total of £24.26) then my mum treated me to lunch at Frankie & Benny's. We got a mushroom pizza and mushroom pasta from the lunchtime £4.95 menu and split it......yummm.
After lunch had to hunt down black gutties for stepson for school as his old ones are too small. It is a fairly new built school and no outdoor shoes are allowed to be worn indoors.
Finally got home around 4pm and felt exhausted. Had a sit down for a bit then a shower to refresh myself.
Done one load of washing and tidied up a bit but thats me for the night. Now slopping about in pyjamas watching a bit of telly.
Bye for now0 -
Hi all,
Not been around for ooh months - too busy decorating and DIY. 2 months into the new house & I've only just got the kitchen up to my standards - going from 10ftx15ft with lots of cupboards to a galley style kitchen was hard.
jw1096 - a day during the week is lovely. I work from home a lot so I changed my hours to 8.30-6 with 30mins for lunch and now i spend Fridays doing hobbies (well apart from the last 2 months decorating)Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -
Hello. Got up early this morning to have a bit of peace before the kids got up. Went to the local museum today with DD, DS and mother, however museum still closed due to 'essential maintenance' so the kids spent most of the morning playing on the adventure playground, and we had a picnic there as well. Didn't let kids on the bouncy castle - I know I'm a bad mother  so the day out was a freebie, not something that happens very often.
Went to Sainsburys to get some party shopping for DD's brthday (10) tomorrow. Never had such a trolley full of junk in all my life. Didn't read a single label, and chucked the cheapest of everying in the basket. I'm sure the kids won't complain though. The only thing I'm making myself is the birthday cake - a Victoria sandwich I think. Got a few reduced items for pass the parcel and dancing competition prizes from Sainsburys. Work this after, came home and made tea (curried mushrooms and peas) did a bit of ebaying and I'm now refusing to do anything else tonight.
Hope you all had a good day and the sun shone where you are, soba.0
