Good morning everyone:hello:
smokey112 - ((((hugs)))) hope things continue to improve for you
VickyA - have a good day in London. Could your dad advertise on freecycle for some sheep? it seems a pity not to have the chance to chase them round London with a dog & a whistle.....:D
Hi to everyone else here today, too.
It's still cloudy here, but the washing will probably be okay. I have actually done the unthinkable thing this morning: cleaned the oven:eek:
The d/w is emptied & everything put away, washing done & awaiting being put on the line... what's wrong with me at the moment?
Maybe I have more energy to do things now I have lost about 1 stone in weight? Anyway, I am not complaining!
....on the other hand, neither am I offering to clean anyone else's oven:rotfl:
Off to home ed group in Suffolk today, with a WW2 theme. Last night DS made some cookies with grated carrot as one of the ingredients, from a WW2 recipe book. Actually they were quite nice, so will take those along for people to try.
Have a good day, everyone :hello:
edit: (((((PP))))) sorry to hear your day hasn't started too well0 -
morning everyone
well yesterday wasn't quite as i planned it. I got far too carried away with my shopping trip and spent too much money
All my own fault of course, but at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Still managed to find the perfect outfit for tonights party for a lot less money than i used to spend - and now i know that i can wear it to all the other events i have this summer and change accessories easily etc. However, the new shoes were expensive - having small feet means pretty much buying what fits as opposed to the best buy. Oh well - I am veyr happy with my purchases.
a bit annoyed as work hours have been changed at the the last minute (Again) but it does mean i have two hours to blitz the house - which is where i am off to now.
Birthday party tonight (although not my birthday till next week) so that's something exciting to look forward to, then the 5km race for life on sunday. Fingers crossed i get my time under 40mins.
have a good day xxxxxr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
smokey - hope you get the sleep you clearly need and are soon rested again.
age - Wow, a laptop via freecycle sounds wonderful!! Glad you are feeling a little better today ((hugs))

somo1 - Have a good day at work and I hope your delivery tonight is successful
Jo - ouchie! Hope the nail varnish washes out and your finger isn't too badly injured.
skystar - crikey, your dh couldn't have put that more clearly, could he! Good luck talking it over, sounds like a good chat is in order
Vicky - have a wonderful time at the ceremony! Looking forward to reading about it when you get backGreat job on the ushers gifts and the candle votives sound lovely!!
Chipps - :T Well done on the oven :TEnjoy the HE group today, the WWII theme should be very interesting!! Well done to your DS on his carrot cookies, they'll go down a real treat today.
PP - enjoy your rest day.
Well, finally, *finally* the permanent run is now operational :j :j :j Got a good deal on the pebbles at B&Q plus, Wickes has bamboo edging at half price so it all looks very feng sui-y :rotfl: I was getting quite worried Wednesday because the area (once a lovely retreat corner) looked worse than a builders site once all the plants/shrubs/climbers were taken down and I confess to shedding a tear or two and wondering if I'd make a horrendous mistake. But, by sundown last night, even though there still needs to be some climbers to soften the concrete wall that adjoins the neighbour, the area now looks much betterThe frogs were not too happy at having their mobile homes moved - 2 huge one's lurking in some pots! - but I think they will be happier in their new position too. All I need to do now is clean out the pump on the pebble fountain and my garden retreat will be useable once again for a few tranquil moments (probably when the neighbours are either asleep or away!)
D12yo has been invited to a sleep over on Saturday and youngest & I are going to friends to do some smoking - really looking forward to that
Today's list:-
~ pay online bill
~ complete paperwork/advertising commitment
~ shopping
~ laundry
~ spend some Q time in the garden, chilling
Both boys are now officially in footie training for a local team, which is brilliant news because we've had the devils own job finding a club for them to join. Thursday evenings and Saturdays will never be the same again
D12yo informs me last night that he has learned one thing he didn't already know from his books (only *one*??? ) he now knows what flavoured condoms are for! :rotfl: :rotfl:Speaking of which ...

Had a bad start to the morning today. I just feel knackered and drained. I suppose I have bean to thank for that. I am really looking forward to the weekend as I can have a nice lie in. But knowing me I'll wake up first thing in the morning all bright and perky.
Not looking forward to 13th, as that is when I have my blood tests, and I'm a bit scared. Actually I'm very scared....as I hate needles and have a tendency to go into a panic attack and faint. Must go through it though so I'm trying my best not to think about it too much.
Breakfast: cereal
Lunch: eaten throughout the day to keep me going
Tea: partner talking about a take away (fish & chips yum)
I'll just go back to sleep now...night folks.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Morning all :grouphug: I've not read the thread through yet as I will save it for lunch time
Rather pleased with myself as yesterday I did all the ironing :j When I say all, I mean ALL, the only things I didn't wash/iron yesterday were the clothes we were wearing (and already done stuff obviously :rotfl: ) so I have a fresh start today. Still haven't managed to catch up with all the washing up yet, but the last long-term-sitting-there dish is in to soak as the sauce was too stubbonly stuck on to wash off last night. Only greasy dishes and breakfast dishes to do today :j
Have to go post a parcel for OH today and I need to make a quick stop at Asda for some fresh stuff, otherwise I have nothing planned. Got to go and get DD washed/dressed so ...
Laters :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning
... This bl**dy formatting problem my office PC gives me on MSE is really annoying, so have decided to improvise in order to make my posts easier to read ... Was quite organised this morning, making my own breakfast (toast with salmon pate) so saved £1.20 I might have spent on a bacon sarnie ... Lunch will be reheated cheese & mushroom ravioli, plus I have got some clotted cream I picked up reduced a couple of days ago, it went out of date yesterday so I imagine it's still ok, and so I'll be off to Borough Market at lunchtime for some fresh fruit to go with it  ... Not sure about supper as I'm off out tonight and won't be home until 10:30 at the earliest ... ((Hugs)) PP - never mind about the zoo, it sounds as if your DD's well on the way to creating one in your garden shed as it is
... Jo I approve of the plan for an extra day off - does that leave you working 4 days a week or 5? - I know you do often work Saturdays as it is ... Well done on getting the chicken run finished Queenie ... SnowyOwl, are you back in NI yet? And have you seen the pics from Sunday yet (see Monday's daily thread
) ... Skystar  ... Everybody else, hope you're OK
... Catch you later ... Rzl xxx

Morning!!
Achy this morning as i fell asleep on the sofa  Was ironing at 1am this morning...(dont ask) switched the iron off and sat down for 2 seconds while it cooled so could be put away and clunk! i fell asleep.. hehe:o
So far this morning ive made some breakfast and had a bit of a potter doing odd jobs about the house.
Also spoke to OH on the phone for about 20 mins which was great :jLike i think i said yesterday hes in Cyprus on holiday with his dad and im lost without him
We hadnt spent more than a day apart in the last 2 months till this holiday (Makes u sick doesnt it?! lol) Got a 5 minute chat with his dad too :rotfl: I knew his dad first you see (hes my superior in scouts) so he always likes to say hello when hes with OH and i call. Bless him! Was telling me about his scooter.... hes 70 and quite disabled so finds it hard getting about without his ride on scooter which hes took on holiday with them... already "run over" OH 3 times apparently! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Rest of the day involves:
- finishing the ironing
- washing last nights dishes
- emptying the bins
- hoovering the hall (raditor paint is flaking off all over the carpet  )
- Going the post office
- Going the bank
- Going the docs
- Going round the bend :rotfl:
- buying some curtain wire
- visiting my mum to drop off some things
- ringing up about some jobs ive seen advertised
Phew.... longish list...
Better get on with it eh? :rolleyes:0 -
Morning all,
Thank goodness its a short week this week. I'm in w**k again today but I couldn't face getting smartly dressed up so I'm in combats and a jumper. The bosses are off and in my head I have already left. I'm just physically working, but in my head I'm doing other things. Its hard to stay motivated but I'm trying my best. I brought some compost in this morning and have just potted a couple of spider plants that grew as runners on a bigger plant in the office. More fulfilling than spreadsheets anyway!
A new Netto store opened nearby yesterday (their 150th I believe!) and they had some special offers on so I went down yesterday evening with DS to see if I could get some household things for the new house in Wales. I bought a steam iron (£4.99) a very sturdy ironing board (£14.99) a 16-pce dinner set (£4.99) and a set containing kettle, toaster, sandwich toaster and kitchen clock (£29.99). I was really pleased with myself. Its a really nice store as well so I think I shall be visiting it more often!
OH is back home tonight :j . I have really missed him this week. The area of Wales he is in has a really poor mobile signal so if I want to talk to him in the evening it is really difficult as the phone keeps cutting out. When we get the house sorted we'll be getting broadband so I think we'll use Skype to keep the phone bills down. Does anyone else on here use it?
I watched Anthea last night on TV and felt shamed in to action. I managed to overcome it though!I'd love to have a house as clean and organised as hers and when I am off work during the summer I am determined to make it happen.
Washed one load of washing this morning before work and had it pegged out before I left home. Its clouding over a little though, I hope it doesn't rain!
DS is at Grandma's again today. He was a bit bored yesterday but my sister is there as well today and they are going to Asda this morning so I hope it will be a bit better for him today.

((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) to those who need them
Afraid I am under the weather, the sore throat has turned into the same cough I had in December when I was so ill...........so I see a trip to the Doctors on the horizon.... OH has gone to the allotment, needs to get some of the stuff planted.
To add insult to injury last night I broke my bridge with my front teeth on (LONG story involves braces cemented onto teeth as a teenager) I kept my old bridge so am having to use that until I feel well enough to get to the dentist and get it sent off to be fixed........
Lovely day, am about to venture out in dressing gown to hang out the towels to dry........
