Hello everybody - big hugs to everyone and a "crack on" to those of you who need it (i.e.me!).

At work now - still feeling really fed up re yesterday but I may spend today as "grouchy secretary in the corner". DH is building the wall today although he has got some letters for quotes I think to get out for his underfloor heating business. I was appalled yesterday when he took a load of overseas mail for me to the post office and all the rates have gone up  44p for a letter within Europe and 50p for an air mail. Still, I guess when you think that 1st class is now over 30p it's not that bad. And I soooooo like getting letters - it gives me something to do when I'm not working :rotfl: Brought loads more fruit in today and will try and get a nice sarnie to cheer me up. Don't know what dinner will be - omelette and salad?? :D Actually last night I put some brie and red onion in the omelette and it wasn't as nice as the plain one I had - that'll teach me not to go all fancy!! ;) I should really go ot with my Avon tonight as well but I think it'll wait another day until it gets a bit cooler - besides I'm still waiting on some items which are due today/tomorrow (and I'm sticking to that excuse like I'm sticking to this chair!)

I had intended to be in early today as my office gets so warm if you rest your arm on the desk whilst typing it sticks to it and we can't open the windows very far or else they then automatically swing wide open meaning we have to stand on the table and lean out of the windows to close them - and h&s quite rightly go bonkers. I have suggested one of the pole grabby things but so far it has fallen on deaf ears and if they think I'm making one from a coathanger and a broom handle they can think again!!

Right better crack on with last Wednesday's clinic (it's never been this late going out - i feel quite disgruntled about it!!)
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Good morning everyone

Not been here for a while, so probably missed a lot!

PP - hope all goes well today
PenPen - I love Wimpole Hall, too! Have a good day.
    Hi to everyone else, too!

It's raining here with a vengeance this morning. Still very warm though. Yesterday was so hot. We had a day in Suffolk - home educators group - with a visit from a historical re-enactor who was dressed in Tudor clothes, and had lots of interesting artefacts - all sorts of everyday things. He even brought a longbow & a musket & did some shooting - DS & the other youngsters all loved that! The musket was very loud, even though there was no musket ball in it.

Not got much to do today, apart from work (maths etc for DS & housework for me!)

    Have a good day!

If you see any baby lambs (or is it too late for them) can you bring me one, to rear in my Rayburn?
    :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yesterday my neighbours were in the garden trying to inspect the fence I was erecting (under the pretence of looking where to put some new plants, lol). We're having a bit of a clash at the moment, so in a moment of wickedness I announced to my friend (well within their earshot) that I might just get those chickens after all...... :p

To be honest, much as it's tempting as I'd love some fresh eggs, I think it's a lot more work than I could handle at the moment. But they don't need to know that :D

Penny Pincher - I hope all goes well for you today at the hospital.

PC is going really slow today - it seems to feel as I do after my late night! Frustrating as I need to put the orders through from last nights party.
As usual can't work out which of the jobs that seem 'priority' should be done today. On the urgent scale are
Doing accounts for April 05 to present  (Income Support want them by the end of the week:eek:   - thing is they never understand them anyway:rolleyes: )
Shopping - we've nothing for dinner
    Semi urgent
Buy more nails and continue erecting fences (hopefully relieve some of the animosity between me and neighbours which will then bring down my soaring stress level)
Find brown paper to post a package that's overdue :o
Bathrooms are in dire need of a scrub
Plus of course all the usual entailed (feeding etc) when you have three at home (eldest trying to study and younger two supposedly ill but full of energy and disturbing eldest)
Lots of other things I could add - but I think the first on the list will take me all day and more _pale_
I would really like to do my SOA at some point too.
I know, I know, I shouldn't really be on here if I've so much to do and feel I've not enough time, but reading how much you guys cope with inspires me, and posting a bit makes me feel so much better, IYKWIM?
Ok, well off to make a coffee and then try ordering again(and attempt to put a smiley, positive head on :T :D )

    Hello everybody,

I have an awful headache atm. Don't get many of them but DH said that's how his flu started. Bet he *gave* it to me. Will have to find a suitable punishment for him. :D DGS ear infection is on the mend, he was given another script of anitbiotics and EX DIL has to go back in a week's time. By then, it should all be cleared up.

DH arrived home before, he was suppose to start night shift but it was put off and he's back to day shift in the morning. Early morning start, drat, I'm not up to par on cold mornings. ;) Freezing here again tonight. The weather is on and it will be 10 degrees in the morning. I'm off to have a hot shower in a min.

Good luck at the hospital PP & the dentist Queenie.

((((hugs)))) to all those that need them. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good Morning All

Much cooler today thankfully as need to do loads, had unexpected day at the hospital yesterday with OH, everything is fine now but am so behind. Normally get a lot done on a Monday as seem to have energy after the wkend, but as it was soo hot yesterday might not have done much after all.

So will prob be in office all day today which is a pain as have got loads and loads of washing to do and its still tipping it down, never mind it will let me catch up on the ironing mountain before I add to it again.

Dont know what we are having for dinner - yesterday really threw me so will have a route around in the freezer later.

Must go now & put nose to the grindstone.

Hope you have a good day all.

Morning :) ... I've got no paragraphs again and also am very busy so will keep it brief ... It's very wet here today which is a welcome change, wish it would thunder though ... Am not going out tonight :eek::D and have loads of reheatables in the fridge so don't need to cook :j :j ... lots of tidying to do though ... Got some fab bargains yesterday - just missed a train home from London Bridge at about 9:30 so ran down to nearest Sainsburys and got a pack of turkey breast steaks for 99p, then caught train home and found my local Sainsburys was still open and had stuff too - spent £1 which bought me 3 heads of broccoli, a cannelloni ready-meal and a carton of tomato soup :D:D ... Good luck PP at the hospital and Queenie at the dentist, and get well soon to all who are sick ... Breakfast was a bacon sarnie cos I forgot to bring any muffins with me this morning  ... lunch will be reheated chicken pie & peas ... dinner most likely the cannelloni I bought for 20p yesterday, with some garlic bread also bought for 20p from a different Sainsburys ... Right, oodles of w**k to do so better be off ... see you this evening ... Rzl

    (((hugs))) to PP

Am ahead of myself today, got up at 6.45am to make breakfast for Boyf before he went to work, nice, kind girlfriend that i am lol and DD didn't wake up until 8.30 (a miracle!) so i was able to get downstairs tidied and my bedroom and bathroom done before she got up (she likes to 'help' but it takes twice as long lol)

Today we're going to the 'Storytime' hour at the library in town (its free!), then we'll have a walk into town, i promised her she could have a kids meal from Greggs (sausage roll, gingerbread and a ribena) and i need to buy a card and present for my nephews birthday.

Breakfast - scrambled eggs on toast for Boyf, chucky egg and soldiers for DD and tea for me (not much of an appetite today)

Dinner - sausage roll etc for DD, i'll have a sandwich or something when we get home

Tea - Salmon and Broccoli pasta bake, tinned pears and ice cream for DD for afters

    Have a good day all

    Morning All

Have not been around for a few days and have still o catch up. I had a day off w**k on Sunday ( though w**k did phone to ask me to go in but had promised DD and DS as day out) and took the children over to New Brighton for the day. We saw Stan Boardman making the video for his world cup song and DS was delighted as he really likes this song.

I'm so glad its cooler today as W**k has been very very very hot with the fryers and ovens on and no air conditioning   .

Toady before I leave for w**k I've got to clean the house, get the Ironing done and pay some bills. Oh!!my mum gave me her BM last night so I need to buy some yeast, and milk poweder, so that I can make some bread for tomorrow.:D :D

    Morning all :grouphug:

Mentally busy morning for me so far. Flowers & notices from us to arrange. My brain is just not working properly as this is kind of new to me so I'm kind of going with the flow (last funeral in my family was 7 years ago and I didn't have that much input then and just went with the flow as it was an unexpected death). I think everything is sorted now from our position apart from writing the cards for the flowers which OH will pick up from my parents on his way home from work.

DD wrote the notice from us for the local paper. Had to do some editing of it as it was 5 lines nearly of "X will miss you. Y will miss you" etc etc so with her supervising we came up with a shorter and more appropriate notice. (I dont' think "Nanna, have a good time in heaven" is exactly appropriate but I knew what she meant :o ) Emailed that to my Dad at work and phoned OH a couple of times about things.

I can't sleep properly ATM. I'm usually in bed by 10pm (okay sometimes I watch TV until middnight but usually only when its a film or Tuesdays "Crime night") but the past couple of nights it's been the early hours before I've been able to sleep, just laying there in bed staring at the ceiling or at the window. Except last night I went up after watching Mercury Rising and don't remember seeing middnight :j I did see 6.30 when my alarm went off but fell asleep. Again at 6.45 another alarm but I fell asleep. OH coming up for his bath at 7am woke me up again but then I fell back asleep until 7.30 which meant I was running 30 minutes late  :wall:

    My brain hurts :(

Anyway, things to do today :
    • Laundry (not even sorted yet :o )
    • Ebay stuff
    • Money needs updating from yesterday :o
    • Bolognese needs making up for tea.
    • Batch of dishes :o
Not necessary but I'd like to get done:
    • Bedrooms
    • Bathroom
    • Livingroom
    • Hall etc
    • Brass on the front door and sweep the front.
    • Maybe clean the windows - probably just a quick wipe over with a microfibre cloth though as I don't want streaky windows :shhh:
At least the kitchen had a really good clean yesterday, but I didn't get around to cleaning the floor. Should really add that to my list

Right, need to move my bottom *insert bottom kicking smilie* Later
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Hi all, back again.
Been a good girl and done my accounts from April 06 up to today, now just need to continue with last years accounts and write up how many hours I've worked.

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough Aussie Lass, fingers crossed it'll clear quickly.
LKKyour salmon and broccoli pasta bake sounds lovely - is it your own recipie?
Tiptoes Good luck with your breadmaking, mine's been on every day since I had it (except the first two days - I was too ill/hungover to read the instructions. I am now tee total :D)
    Nicki
"Nanna, have a good time in heaven"
That was so lovely, and so sweet. Warm wishes and hugs all going your way. x

Next door are back in their garden and so my stress levels are soaring making it hard for me to concentrate (hence me be back on here 'for comfort', lol).
Feeling a bit better now I've typed this, so going to do a wander 'round the house to tidy up a bit, and hopefully they'll have gone by the time I get back and so can concentrate on my work!
