you have my sympathies Moggins, I had DS2 home last week with exactly the same thing and its not pleasant. I was really worried in case DS1 caught it as he's doing his GCSE's at the moment:eek: but luckily nobody else got it!As its the second time in about 6 weeks that he's had it my Mum said to try him on probiotic drinks which are supposed to build up the good bacteria in your stomach, worth a try if it prevents another bug!

    Morning all!

Bad news yesterday re. the flat - looks like we're going to lose it as the landlord keeps adding on things that we need to pay (ie. a £600/year service charge) when he had originally said bills were to be all inclusive  So we've started the hunt for somewhere else but I don't think we'll find anywhere as nice as this flat within our budget - plus we have to be out of this place by Saturday so I'm not quite sure where we're going to live until we find somewhere!!

Having a fairly OS day - am going to make a sausage casserole for the freezer so that I don't have to cook for the rest of the week as I'm stressed and have a feeling it's only going to get worse. I already have lasagne and cottage pie in there so I think we shall not starve!! I'm also going to wash the bedsheets and have a whip-round with my microfibre cloths...

Only working 15hrs this week and six of those were yesterday so I'm only in 8-12.30 tomorrow and 4.30-9 on wednesday - maybe a chance to get some packing done?!

Anyway, I hope you all have a nice day - the weathers picked up here again now after rain this morning and I think we may be in for another cracker!!

ps. i hope this works - it's the *blurry* view from my bedroom window at my mums in the Peak District, quality isn't great as it was taken from my phone, and the better, more spectacular views I took pictures of didn't come out very well!

pps. the cream thing in the middle is a bucket containing the sheeps' food!!

Thanks for the thoughts, unfortunately the morning (or the night) did not go as planned as DD had me up at 4am. She went to a party yesterday and threw up all over her bed at 4am. I thought it might have been the effects of stuffing herself with rubbish at the party but unfortunately it has developed into a full scale tummy bug and is now coming from both ends :(

She's now curled up on the sofa watching Doodle Do and feeling very sorry for herself :(

cola or lemonade that has been warmed slightly and then allowed to go flat is what you need. this is the advice given to brits abroad when they get a tmmy bug - it keeps your fluid levels up and is easy to keep down. encourage her to drink little and often rather than one big drink, as this is less likely to induce vomiting

Good morning everyone (Good evening Aussielass)

It's been raining here too today but nothing serious like thunderstorms... Might get out in the garden and do some more weeding today, might not.

The washing machine will probably go on (OH professes not to know how to work it), the house needs hoovered (dog spreads her dinner everywhere, luckily it's only rice atm) and the washing up that OH did yesterday needs doing again (imho, chefs CANNOT wash up!) cos theres dumpling mix all over everything.

Thinking of everyone whos having a bad day, hugs are available for anyone who'd like one.

  • Hi Again

OH has taken car for new clutch which was able to be done today by Mr Clutch for £210 inc fitting. My mum is giving £180 towards it as they were going to pay for car hire for a week for us so cant complain!

Taplady-I dont get high rate DLA. My GP & OT have told me to, but havent felt that I deserve it as there are many other people in worse situations than me. I know I should apply and ask them to look again but I hate all the form filling and just dont have the energy. I wouldnt use a motability car though, I knwo too many people who have had many problems. Rather buy myself IYSWIM.

SIL hasnt come or let me know whats happening...thanks sweetie:rolleyes: OH has pegged out washing and done a quick lick of the high gloss sides in kitchen.

Been reading for my essay, but just doesnt seem to be going in:confused:

    Take care everyone.

    Morning all :hello:

Now I have a little more time... :D Whats the plans for today?

    Done :
    • School run
    • Explantation to DD about where Nannas body is  She actually came up to me this morning and said "Mummy, is Nannas body still at the hospital and is she in her special box yet?" Had to explain the whole thing to her. If I don't tell her then she just keeps on asking questions so I find it best to tell her the whole thing but in the simplest terms possible  I'm sure she's really about 90 :rotfl:
    • Shopping at Asda (£29 ) and then naughty me went to Aldi for some treats (Ice-cream, 1 pizza:o and tortillas - also bought a frozen-food carrier bag . Total for Aldi £8ish )
    • Freezer/Fridge stuff put away, but I still need to do the shopping trolley of stuff.
Still to do that HAS to be done today:
    • Update Money
    • Rest of the shopping away
    • Batch of dishes
    • Ebay items to list - greatly reduced amount through, just 2 boxes of mainly bulky stuff to do as I've decided the rest can go to the school, saves on fees ;) Will also speak to OH tonight and see what he wants to do about our old printer and any other bits that we don't need now we have a new computer.
Not so important to do today ;):p
    • Clean Bathroom
    • Clean bedrooms x 2
    • Clean landing/stairs/hallway
    • Clean livingroom
    • Clean kitchen
    • Scan / Shred old papers that we don't need anymore.
I could really do with doing some laundry but the weather forcast is light rain/showers here for the rest of today (70% chance), but nice tomorrow, so I think I'll leave for now. ;)

Need to go into the school at some point and reclaim my money as I paid for the domain name on Friday. Also need to see about taking in 5 bags and a box of stuff for the Summer fair. Might take them in on Friday either first thing, or when we go to pick DD up from school as OH is taking the day off to go to the funeral and I can't manage to carry all them bags around myself :o

Right, off to have a mooch about todays threads and then off to get on with some jobs.

    Hiya everyone :D

((hugs)) to all in need - moggins, poor DD, I'm glad it isn't mine as I really can't cope with sick (altho as a mum you have to at time, I know :()

I've been quite industrious this morning. Got my 'admin' jobs done, SC on (gammon in apple juice), WM on, kitchen cleaned (am waiting for floor to dry) and I'm about to make a start on the dining room and bath rooms.

Thought I'd be ahead of myself last night and hung washing out. Hmmm - did I get woken by some lashing rain or what! Never mind, it's dry now so I'll see if they actually dry before the rain that is expected later. At least the garden got a good watering.

Ok, must dash, things to do before DS2 has to be picked up from pre-school.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.....could do with it cooling down a touch as I'm not responding well to this heat and humidity. OH decided to get a bit ill at the weekend and was sick (not alcohol induced)....and he's still feeling decidedly dodgy. So we're going to have some nice simple fish tonight and with luck it will calm his innards down a touch.
