Evening all
nicki - ((((hugs)))) to you, Johanne and the rest of your family at this time.
((hugs)) to all others out there who are still ill or are looking after orworrying about someone else.
Today I managed to achieve quite a lot. I was up fairly early - 7.20, despite my late night cleaningI've stripped out bed and done another 2 or 3 loads. I have bottomed the living room, including washing windows, woodwork, walls and leather suite (all with stardrops and microfibre cloth) It must have been good - DS2 felt the 'need' to put his hands on the big window !!
I have also planted all my bedding plants, 2 large strawberry pots and another 6 or 7 planters. Cutting the grass can wait until tomorrowI've also managed to do a few odds and sods around the place, helped a neighbour set up her paddling pool, supervised lots of littlies in our pool (which meant my dry washing which I was half way down the garden to collect, needed drying again!) Oh, and I've done another BBQ. In fact, apart from sitting on this chair mid-day to eat a cheese and pickle sarnie, the first time I sat down to relax was at 6.00pm exactly cos I looked at my watch! Phew - and having got the boys to bed, I'm sitting here waiting for them to go to sleep so I can go and clear up outside.
Anyway, it's been a gorgeous day but my skin is complaining about the amount of UV light it's been exposed to. Factor 50 isn't strong enough at timesHopefully tomorrow will be as nice because it makes my spirits soar, even if the skin complains
Right, off to find the summer weight duvet from the attic and re make our bed, put the rest of the garden tools away and climb into a lovely bath, with a book or maybe even just my own thoughts. Catch ya tomorrow.

[QUOTE=QueenieRage - it's so lovely to see you posting again ... you do make me  I'll never hear the word 'arson' and think the same way again
Now I really can't claim that as my own as it's a W&G quote from "The WR" and spoken by the 2nd best support in the film - Peter Kay's policeman (the Vicar is fantastic....). In fact I may have to go and watch that particular scene now....... "it's a clear case of arson.... somebody's been arson around..." :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: oh, calm me down with a sherbert dip somebody..........
Nikki - really sorry about your Nan. Big hugs to everyone. It's never easy when we lose somebody, but remember all the things that she taught you and all the times she indulged you - it's the job of Nan's to do that :grouphug:
and with that I am off to watch W&G - I think I'll have a tia maria as well, oooh what the heck, I'll have TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
((((((((((((((nicki))))))))))))))
Thanks for that Queenie, wish I'd thought of the belated grounding earlier, I love the circusand free tickets too
I actually got the chance to meet my future son-in-law today and he's really quite nice. I've only spoken to him for 5 minutes before when I was moving DD out and I wasn't overly impressed so when she rang to tell me she was getting engaged I wasn't over the moon about it. But he walked past my house today when XDH and I were talking and he's really quite nice. And at least he got a chance to see the size of XDH which would put the frighteners on anyone planning to hurt my baby girl
It's still so hot here. I was planning on getting some late night housework done but it's still way too hot for that.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Phew, just got in after a long hot day out! Have only flicked through thread so apologies if I've missed anything major.
((((hugs)))) nicki & johanne
It's boiling in here, the window's flung wide open and I'm sitting on my bed in my underwear (yes, I shut the curtains:D), but am still roasting. I'll need a shower before bed or I won't be able to sleep. Also it'll be nice as I need to make my bed (stripped it to wash this morning) and it's always nice to get into a fresh bed straight from a shower
Have planned some relaxation into my day tomorrow - that sounds daft doesn't it, but you know what my schedule's like at the moment! So even though I'm due to go to a(nother) concert in the evening, I'll come straight home from church at lunchtime and will not be cooking or cleaning, just having a sit down and maybe a nap. Having said that, if the weather's still like it's been today, it might be MORE pleasant to stay in town, find a shady tree in Hyde Park and spend the afternoon dozing there
Night night :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Oooooo er! Will you be selling tickets, that sounds like a contest worth seeing. Give her hell, sista.
Nicki, so sad to hear your news. Lots of hugs down the wires.
We now have 4 chicks hatched, read all about it on the "our baby ducks are here" thread. Sorry, can't do the fancy link thing, yet, but I'm on the case.
I ought to start a thread for today, but I'm too shy..............

:hello: Gooooooood Morning fellow OS'ers
twink - thank you for the links
moggins - I find the coolest time to do housework is the early morning rather than the later evening. Mind you, if the heat continues, it will reach a point where there'll be no cooler time for housework. LOL @ future SIL meets future FILOne of those times where size matters
Hope you've got your oil stain out.
Bargain - hope you get your scheduled R&R be it at home or Hyde Park
Chicken to be dressed for SC. Already have some washing out and another load on. My naughty furbaby decided to wee on d12yo's bed! He's not allowed in the bedroom but managed to sneak in anyway. He couldn't have been in there long either so I really don't understand it. He's had the no wee-wee's outside litter tray talk now so fingers X'd we don't get a repeat performance!
Had an early morning sit in the garden and I noticed my rambling rose, Paul's Scarlet, has burst into bloom and the white flag iris has followed suitBeen so wrapped up in the other half of the garden that I'd failed to notice before now, it does look lovely.
Need to renew my batch of yogurt because I want to use a batch to make some yogurt cheese.
Uniform ironing to do shortly, better to get it done earlier rather than later, the thought of sweltering over an iron on hot days does not appeal.
Other than that, I have no other plans and I'll simply let the day unfold as it will.
Have a relaxing Sunday.
