    Afternoon everyone :hello:

Welcome to nic82 and BrokeBrunette  Nice to have you here.

I'm now sitting out in our back garden, waiting for the washing machine to finish so that I can dry yet another load of washing. It's drying within 30mins (how sad am I working that out? :D)

OH and I walked down to the Farmers' Market this morning, so we're now feeling really virtuous. Got loads of veggies, sausages, mince, apple juice etc. We even carried it all back! I've also managed to pick up a couple of leaflets for various farm shops nearby. Our Farmers' Market is only on once a month, plus we have a good butcher and all these farm shops nearish by. We're very lucky, I suppose.

OH is watching the football, or is about to. No doubt I will get updates frequently throughout the game. I also have some ironing to do, so I may well do some of that in the second half.

BTW, we've been discussing names. Any suggestions. Currently the cokerell will be Cyril, and hens will be Eco Chick,Compost, and then we're stuck.

    Penny. x

I think you can never underestimate the value of old fashioned names - we are, after all OS!!! Hence my budgies being called respectively, Keith, Derek and Bobby...........

I suggest for the "lay-deees" Ethel, Doris, Mabel and, my names for any chickens I have, Gert and Daisy... (Daisy is also on the list for any children we may have so that could get confusing....):rotfl:
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Yippeeeee, some good news today. XDH has just been round, threatened DS with all sorts of punishment if he doesn't start pulling his wait and brought with him some of the money he owes me and a huge bale of sawdust for the guinea pigs :D

Strewth! Did you threaten to cut off his world cup?:rotfl:

I have splashed out and bought two HUGE lupins ( 2 for £5) that will sit very nicely infront of the ferns we moved. OH is STILL at his wedding (start time for the pick up was 10.30 but apparently the photographer is "arson" around - gets me very time that one :rotfl: - so I have had to start taping the ;) for him.......... hence I am up here surfing ......

Then he is at Asda at 5pm - best get the dinner going then - merely a greek salad with some extra potato salad I think and bread..........

Welcome to all the newbies (((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) to those who need them.

Late posting today we have been at the allotment this morning before it got too hot to work.

We had another grandson yesterday but he is not too well.....breathing difficulties, he was delivered by ceasearaen????? not right I know but cannot be bothered to look it up. So we are on egg shells a bit just now, had a phone call from SS to say that his partner had a fainting spell when they got her out of bed this morning and has hit her head........so another worry..... he is going to phone tonight after he has been to the hospital and let us know the latest.

OH is complaining his chest hurts when he coughs, par for the course, this time last week so did mine, have told him if it is still causing problems on Monday he has to go to the Doctors, till then keep taking the pills. I started taking the fat pills yesterday and so far they have not had much of an effect, will see what happens over the next few days.........cannot weigh myself our scales are having a moody and not working........ but I must admit my shorts are a little looser around the waist.......

Macoroni cheese and salad for supper, have done a shoulder of lamb with garlic pushed into slits in the skin it is now sitting in red wine in the fridge ready for tomorrow, we picked some rhubarb whilst we were at the allotment so I am going to cook it in the micro, its too hot to use the big oven........

Lovely day, nice breeze to help cool things down a bit, our living room gets the sun in the morning, but its nice and cool now, breeze blowing in through the open window, all is quiet, is something going on I wonder?????? We will NOT be watching the FB......cannot stand it.............so lots of books out of the library and when it cools down a bit some gardening.

Cheerio for now, enjoy the rest of the day.....................

    afternoon.

it is still strangely quiet today. There aren't even kids playing on our street, and no sign of the ice cream man yet. Is it some twilight zone? Must be the footie.

Well i'm feeling particularly proud. I have the WM on for the 6th time. :T All DH's stuff is clean, mine has another couple of loads but it's all faffy stuff that i can't just bung in a 40 IYKWIM, I am even going to wash the 2 linen bags. I think that will be the first time ever. Well you've got to take advantage of the free tumble drying. :rotfl:

No doubt DH will bring back enough washing to occupy the same amount of loads, but he would have done that anyway. No doubt he would have done some mucky jobs, and had a bike ride, and probably a trip to the pub if at home, so it would only have been the same number of loads.

I've also rejuiced the car for the rest of the month, and done the food shopping. And around all that, i have made some progress with the marking. One school has papers all bagged up and ready to go back. (I'll not mention the other one.)

I also watched a couple of episodes of charmed. I'm currently working my way through each series via my DVD rental subscription. DH isn't around much to watch them, so why shouldn't i basically.

I was thinking of having a ride over to my parents, but it is too cool inside to go and get in the stuffy car. So i'll try to get on with stuff here, and try and have a bit of a chill out this evening.

Hope you girlies, and guys if Math or squeaky are around are enjoying your day.

Moggins like you, i wonder which camp i fit into, as sometimes i get loads done in the morning, but then other days, i'm still having to work hard in the evenings too. I think i'm more of an early riser though, even if i don't always post then.

    Take care everyone,
    Michelle, xx

    Hello everyone!

Moggins, good news about your ex-OH, am glad he's coughed up. Regards the oil on the sheets, my Soda Crystals leaflet says:

Remove heavy stains on cottons or linens by soaking in a strong solution of Soda Crystals or use Liquid Soda Crystals directly on the stain. Soda Crystals can shift grease, blood, blood, ink, tea and coffee stains.

    It goes on to say:

Soda Crystals are renowned for their ability to dissolve grease. Soak greasy clothes and textiles overnight in a strong solution before washing normally.

It has been a less than glorious day over here in N.Ireland. It was quite cool this morning at about 10.30 when I went out into the garden to munch my cereal. Actually it was so lovely and comfortably cool with a lovely breeze. It has rained a little off and on today, but it seems to be hotting up now.

I was v.naughty and returned to my bed around midday and managed another couple of hours kip, so I have in effect missed most of today. It's like a ghost town around here at the moment. The football may possibly be a cause of it - doubt it though since N.Ireland didn't get too far in this year's tournament - so don't know why it's so quiet. It's nice though, usually there are some kids around shouting and yelling as kids do.

PurplePrincess, well done on getting through the exams and living to tell the tale. They are so flipping stressful no matter how much work you put in! You can relax now and think of other things for a good long while. BTW I've got my results already - got a pass with commendation, whoopee! I was doing an Access course (ie access to higher education) which is regarded as equivalent to 3 Alevels by most universities. To me it was a second chance having blown my first chance a 20 years ago when I first did A levels. My plan is to go to university in 2007, but to relocate to the town where the university is between now and the start of the 07/08 academic year.

Penelope Penguin, I so sorry to hear about your friend. How awful. We don't know how lucky we are to have our health until it goes.

I'm off now to brush Teddy boy, my long haired kitty. See you all later, or tomorrow.

Well today has been a lovely day here - couldnt get any washing done as the paddling pool was placed on the area where the dryer goes

DSD had a friend staying over with her last night - OH had to set up the paddling pool when he came in with them - TM sounds as if it the same as yours -ours is about 10ft by 6ft. They have played in it all afternoon - usually the kids go home about 2pm when their dad is NS tonight but they stayed later and OH dropped them off before work - they wanted to stay again tonight but I said I was going out (little white lie) - I couldnt have faced them all night as they are hyper and I need a little me time.

Going to have a nice relaxing evening - need to sort out loads for WM and empty DW first though.

    b - bacon sarnie
    l - tuna pasta
d - lamb curry and rice.
