    Evening All!

Have come on for a yap and a half! I went to bed at 9.00 pm and was having a lovely sleep - then somebody decided to call me at 10.00 pm for a chat. Grrr!!! I'll probably be up until about 4.00 am now!! It's rather annoying as I got up at 5.30 am on Friday having only had four hours sleep and so really, really needed the kip.

My other rant is about that dose of a manager who so rudely commandeered my chair and left me standing there like a lemon for 20 minutes the other day. He came into my office in the afternoon today and noticed I was eating some fruit. Then he made pointed comments about my doing so, ie if I had worked through my lunch, thought I mustn't have taken a break...so petty...he basically disapproves of staff eating whilst at their desks, but doesn't actually say the words, is just sarcastic and embarrasses whoever he catches. I could break his smarmy face (though that is possibly not a great career move).

    End of newsflash from SnowyOwl-Town.

    Morning Guys

Had a really good nights sleep last night so am feeling more with it this morning.

No washing to do today. DW will be out on in a while and toilet is cleaned:D Cleaner was here yesterday so everything still perfect!

I want to go out for a drive today, without visiting a hospital-so will pop a couple of pain killers and hopefully be on my travels:rolleyes: Still got to take it easy though, but sitting in the car shouldnt be too bad and we can take a flask and sarnies with us so we can stop when we want.

Weather is beautiful already here and all the birds are tweeting.

Anyway, going to go and get something to eat as Im starving. Have a great day guys. Hugs to all who need them and those that dont!

    Breakie:Bacon,mushrooms,beans,toast,scrambled egg and sausage
    Lunch:Tuna/salad rolls

Good morning PP! Have lurked around this post for some time, and posted for first time yesterday.

Weather lovely here, too. That's 2 weeks now, so am making the most of it. Barbie last night with some good friends. Bed at 11:30, so plates still to wash. Found that a friend is on ventilator with aggressive leukemia, hence woken v. early today. Will try again to contact her family today, don't think there's going to be a happy ending here.

Our hens eggs are beginning to hatch - can see one tiny beak poking through!

Off to a lovely bistro for supper with my oldest friends tonight - they'll lift my spirits.

    Hugs to you all!

:hello: Gooooood Morning Fellow OS'ers :D:D:D

    Welcome Penelope Penguin :hello:
Sorry to hear about your friend :( difficult times ((hugs))
Ooooh, how many eggs are you waiting to hatch? Are you breeding them?

Morning Penny Pincher, lovely to hear you sounding so positive today, enjoy your trip out today :D

It's a beautiful morning here too, all the windows are wide open and airing out the house. Had the chook out this morning while I had my hot water with lemon, I can't believe just how quickly all her bald patches are now recovering. It's really relaxing sitting outside watching her and listening to the birds and no noisey neighbours (yet!)

All uniforms in the wash, soon be finished so I can get them on the line.

D10yo's world cup tournament at school yesterday resulted in his team (Brazil) coming 3rd. Holland were the winners ;) He's got footie training today so I need to remember to put on the sun cream in case the trainer decides to play skins - which I think is a bit dodgy when they are playing midday in the sun, but  who am I to question? ;)

Feel a need to go to the beach today and feel the sand between my toes (natural exfoliator ;) ) so I need to double check the tide tables. Youngest isn't overly fond of the beach so it won't be a long visit, but having followed some of my own recent advice, listened to a meditation cd and the urge to go should not be denied :D

Welcome back from your chill time, squeaky. Hope you are all refreshed and it has been the tonic you hoped for.

    B: Yogurt with fruit
L: Tuna wraps on the move.
D: not too sure yet :o

Yesterday tried a recipe, or rather my version of it according to what was in pantry, for a chickpea salad. OOooh, it was  Inspired by apple_mints weight loss I think I really should be eating more healthily :o

*Boing* session went to plan yesterday, but to make it less of a task and more fun, I watched a comedy to kerb any boredom factor while I was on the rebounder.

Got some gelatin that is approaching it's expiry date so I might make up a fruit jelly

Wishing you all a super Saturday.

((hugs)) for those who need them.

    Morning!

Hope everyone is well! For those in need of a hug, :grouphug:

Im in need of a lot of :coffee: this morning, ive got to go for work and am not feeling with it today. Im also having a bit of trouble with one of my bosses who decided to send me a fairly !!!!ty email about 'being the only person to kick off about working 3 saturdays in July'. Well, excuse me for having a pre-booked life.

It is in my contract that I have to work saturdays as required, but my contract is also a 35hour contract so by my reasoning - if im doing 35hours, then they should be a little more understanding about me wanting some saturdays to myself - especially since I have just had a meeting with one of the bosses to lok at reducing my contracted hours so I have a better work/life balance, which they apparently hold in high regard.

They seem very happy to cut my hours in the week as they have to look at all requests seriously - but then act like they own me on my saturdays 'because its in your contract'.

Well - sod that - ill be looking for a new job and they can find some other lackey to come in and work full time for peanuts.

Anyway - aside from that, things are good! Ive decided to do a photography course in september at college and am going to be buying a laptop soon to do some editing, and am planning on spending some more time doing various other arty stuff so im feeling generally happier with my lot at the moment. Im very tired though - I went out on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night so I still havent caught up with sleep!

On that note, I must dash - I have to go and get ready to go toil with the other slaves.

I hope everyone has a lovely relaxing saturday!

    Jo xx

    Morning', Queenie!

We bought 12 eggs mail order from down south somewhere, can't remember where, now. 6 Buff Orpington (DS says "size of small Labrador according to Google") and 6 Light Sussex (white with black/white neck ruff). One had v. thin shell and expired before it got to incubator. 2 others were cracked, but we bunged them in anyway. All these damaged ones were Buff O., and all 3 others of these are hatching. 1 LS is hatching too.

Next trick is keeping them warm for the next couple of weeks until they go to next pen in the shed, before joining our 3 big girls in the garden.

Children hoping for hens, as they fully understand that we can't keep more than 1 cockerell.

How are your friend's quail? One of my hens has bald patches around her neck. Think she's the one not laying. She looks pretty perky otherwise.

Is the bald patch due to the !!!! being overzealous with her?

Aw, thanks for asking about the quails. :D Saw them last weekend and they are sooooooo cute (she got her eggs from Ebay!) They are all thriving, thank you :)

Fingers X'd for you for your hatchings and looking forward to hearing the final results :D

    Morning all,
Haven't posted for a while but am refocusing on the money saving. At the moment we have the ultimate bargain - a free au pair! Seriously, we have a French student staying for a month to improve her English. She only wants board and lodging in return for teaching the kids and us a bit of French, some babysitting and a hand with the housework. So far so good - as normally I like my mornings all alone in the house, but it's working out ok.

We're taking her to a car boot sale this morning - a new cultural experience - and am planning a Chinese meal for this evening based on what I find in the freezer.
