  • You've made me blush, outrageous_monkey :o:D I just like cooking so it's nice to cook for more people than just me, as it means I get to do more of it - AND it gets appreciated! Some of my colleagues have said (in jest) that I should set up a sideline in batch-cooking their lunches - might have to, once I'm living on my own with nobody to feed :D

The social life is all music related and in a way I wish I didn't HAVE to go out every night in order to see all the things that I'm interested in, IYSWIM! It's only normally this bad (5-6 nights out a week!) in June, then nearly as busy in July-September (maybe 4-5 nights out a week) but for the rest of the year it's fairly easy to keep it at around 2 nights a week, which keeps me sane and solvent, and gives me time to do other things :) Of course even if I go to things by myself, and on a cheap ticket, chances are I'll run into loads of people I know and end up in the pub till closing time :o:D I have to budget my money and my time very carefully to fit it all in. I even, um, have a spreadsheet which tells me off when my cumulative alcohol consumption gets too ridiculous :D:D:o (That's sad isn't it? :D)

lol @ spreadsheet (glad its just not us then!) OH has done a family spreadsheet and every reciept goes in, I have learned to hide all mine ;)
And, I'm sure once you are living on your own, you wont be cooking for 1, sounds to me with all the friends (and work collegues) you have everyone will 'just pop in' at lunch/dinner/supper time, lol.
When I was younger (get me, I'm only 36!!), or I should say, before I started having children  , I too was very into music. I love concerts. Best concert was Nirvana, before Smells like Teen Spirit ever entered the charts. When I'm trying to be 'cool' thats the one I mention. Still, my aim now is to have my 40th at Glastonbury. The kids'll love me for that!

    LOL outrageous_monkey :D:D

With me it's almost exclusively classical music, and the reason June is so mad is that the main concert hall and opera house seasons are still running before the summer break, the summer festivals like Glyndebourne and the Barbican's Mostly Mozart series have started up, and the music colleges are doing their end of term productions. So everything at once! (Still, this is why I chose to live in London :D)

My spreadsheet is one of those which I've come to depend on to the extent that if I didn't have it I'd forget who I was! It's separate from my main accounts spreadsheet which lives on my home computer - this one lives on my work computer and I update it every morning when I get into the office (and email it home at weekends!) It's got tabs for everything - a meal planner (of sorts), a spending diary (purely for the cash I have on me at the time, as the rest goes in the accounting spreadsheet at home) which includes projections of likely spending so I know if I'm heading over budget or not, a projection of my progress against my savings target assuming certain amounts go in each month, and a "health log" which keeps track of stuff like my alcohol consumption and what my BMI is and when my period's due (!! :o). I sneak tabs in there for all sorts of things :D:D:D

Blimey I've just read that back to myself and I really sound like a tragic victim of Excel's fatal charms :o:o:D

Don't worry..I'll join you there. I have spreadsheets for all sorts of things as well, although all mine are Financial :p

Website is up and running now :j_party__party__party_ Okay so it's in a temporary home ATM on our personal webspace but the domain is there _party_:dance::whistle:_party_:dance: Suddenly dawned on me before, with some help from OH, I'm now a webmaster  :rotfl:

Right, off to put the washing out and then I'll do some ebaying with OH's help...I hope..guess I had better ask him first :p:rotfl:

Anthea would be impressed with my spreadsheets but it's OK, one look at the state of my abode and she'd die of sheer horror :D

God gave me a liver too, but he didn't give me a spare, and sometimes when I'm out all he time and constantly meeting friends, I don't notice that I've been drinking excessively (I don't often drink too excessively on a "per session" basis, it just adds up when I'm out every night) so I set up the spreadsheet to keep myself in check. I don't plan how many units I'm GOING to drink, but I'll type in a rough estimate each day of what my unit consumption was the night before, and if the weekly running total is more than about 30 units (v. easy to do - for example, half a bottle of wine a night for 7 days would be about 32-35 units depending on the strength!) I might use that information to persuade myself to drink less over the next few days.

That doesn't mean I don't still drink too much, though! :o

Ok, my paddling pool is inflated and is currently being filled, so all you over-heated pregnant gals are welcome to come and paddle your feet - hell, it's about 10 ft long so you could lay in it :rotfl: Well, when I say it's currently being filled, DS2 seems to be in charge of the hosepipe, so I dare say there's more water going on the garden and the other kids out there :D

Tea is going to be pasta and a HM tomato/cream cheese sauce and I never got round to doing the crumble. I ended up going to a garden centre then Tesco's. DS1 needed some new summer PJ's and while I was in there, I noticed there were selling off their world cup type t-shirts for next to nothing. So, the boys have one each and I have 2 - that should wind Mr TM up :rotfl: I'm currently wearng the blue vest top with 'England' in diamontes across me boobs - do ya like it? LOL I'll save the white one with the flag and the red glitter for tomorrow :rotfl:

Well, off to make my tea then I will plant my plants tonight - don't want to watch Germany! Actually, not really into the footie - just like the patriotism (and the chance of getting wodges of money back if England win :))

Just had a phone call from the hospital.

My dad is coming back to his flat on Monday just before lunchtime by special taxi.

Someone will call in morning, lunchtime and teatime to help him.

I will be waiting there when he arrives so I can pay the taxi and will have put some basic groceries in the fridge for him.

    :j :j :j :j :j :j

Lets hope he cheers up when I tell him tonight.
