Another way of knowing you are getting older (and sounding like your mother) is when at a party and hear yourself saying "that music is a bit loud isn't it?"

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Also - do you find that when the suns out people suddenly become deaf?? - cos why is it as soon as its a nice sunny day their radios get turned up really loud in either their garden so you have to put up with what they are listening too all day - or in the car??? thumping loud??:rotfl: you dont get it in the winter do you?

mushypeas - why didnt you contact me and meet up when you were down last weekend??? was I that hideous in bargainrzl photo's???? I'm sorry I dont quite look like davina yet!!!:rotfl: I could have popped along to the southbank, picture thing at the National sounds good.

nuttyrockeress - Yogalates???? was it any good? did davina again today, legs feeling it now! know how you feel about losing weight - I would lose weight if i stopped cooking/eating bread pudding! but at least the exercise will burn fat and start toning up which does make your shape better and feel slimmer.

Well today, I sat in garden with kids in paddling pool, then took them for a walk to the City Farm and then park, tire them out abit then home for dinner.
Salad - so no whopping carbs on plate (good).
Am making the most of the sun this week before I start new job and will be enclosed again inside an office!!!!

Thanks AussieLass for your reply - it does get quite cold doesnt it. Not having central heating must be much better for your health and the enviroment.

Its been lovely here today but is quite chilly now so think will go to bed. Am currently watching Big Spenders and its driving me mad!

I must have missed this. ROBBIE WILLIAMS. Oooooooooooooooh you lucky thing. He's coming here in December to Brisbane. :j:j:jI'm not too sure whether we'll still be here and not in the UK then. I'm sort of dithering with buying the tickets. They go on sale very shortly. Decisions, decisions. :D Mind you, I want a detailed second by second account of the concert. Don't worry if it bores everyone else to tears, just type it. ;)

Had an awful night's sleep last night. Note to myself: must not eat leftover cabbage salad before going to bed. :D I'm sure DH will agree to second that. :D

Well I will get going and get myself organised to go out. Good night everyone. Nice day here too. Sunny but crisp.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Gooood morning one and all :hello:

I'm awake! Far too early for me but there we are. It's another gorgeous day here so I thought I grab a cuppa and an hour on here before the masses wake up. I have made DS1's packed lunch but that's as far as it goes :D

My friend is picking DS2 up around 10am and he'll have lunch at hers then she'll deliver him to pre-school with her DS2 this afternoon. It means I have a good few hours to crack on in the house. It's a reciprocal arrangment - she's has a lunch to go to tomorrow so I'll be having her DS2 then. I am intending to use my time wisely and clean this house - I seem to have got behind this past few days :( Never mind.

Good news last night - I've sold my old car that my BIL has been using. Got a good price for it considering. This will go towards the rather major purchase I made in the tv department yesterday. :D (sort of budgeted for but purchase brought forward a little)

Anyway, I'm not going to do anything constructive just yet - it will wake the boys (my excuse and I'm sticking to it) Once they are up I shall wash their bedding. SC will be going on with some pork chops and I'll put BM on later - we have enough for now. I really need to get on and make DS2's blackout blind smaller so I can fit it and he can go to sleep at an earlier time too. That can go on my "to do urgently" list.

Ok - (((hugs))) to all in need and have a great day :D

I don't usually post on this thread but have been following for a while and thought I'd join in (if I'm allowed?! )

We have the makings of a beautiful day here at the moment so I'm just enjoying it before the traffic kicks in and my OH wakes up - also rain is predicted later which is typical seeing as we've arranged to go to a BBQ

I'm on holiday from work this week, and OH has booked today, tomorrow and friday off so hopefully we'll be able to spend some quality time together, and maybe even pop out into the Peaks for a stroll...

I have some tidying up to do, and I need to dust, hoover and change the bed this morning, and then I'm going to walk into town and whilst my OH is having his hair cut, I'll wander round town looking at all of the things I wish I could afford! Then I have to take OH's friend up to the hospital (oh the joy of being the only one in the group with a car!!), and this afternoon I'm going to finish work on a present for my sister - she's starting at St. Martin's Art School in September and is totally unprepared and lives in her own little world so I'm making her a "guide" as to what she needs to take and what she needs to know, along with some money-saving recipes collected from this site.

Sorry for the ramble - hope you all have a lovely day

    :grouphug: if you need one!

    :hello: Morning OS'ers :D:D:D

Welcome Roz :hello: glad you have joined us :):D Enjoy your walk today.

moggins - wonderful news!!! It must be a weight off your mind. ((hugs))

scuzz - hope your dinner out was just the tonic you need. Henry Allingham's an amazing man/story!

michelle - bon voyage to your dh for his cycling trip. Is this sponsored or competitive or simply for fun?

skystar - hope you've fully recovered now ;):D

Shez - I know just what you mean! I've often thought of bulk buying headphones and playing Secret Santa around the neighbours. :silenced:

AussieLass - :rotfl: @ cabbage salad.

somo1 - aww, your poor dd :( It's not fun wrestling with a dress when everyone else is all changed and ready, poor mite. It's one of the reasons I was so against communual changing rooms in shops ;):D

JackieO - good luck with your law GCSE next week and I hope the shoulder is out of it's sling.

tootles - glad you are on the mend, pity your dh now seems to be coming down with it though, sounds rather nasty to me.

Kazonline - not so amazing really, I get up anytime between 5.30 - 6.30. The chicken takes moments to do in the morning, but the full clean takes a bit longer. Feeding her is a matter of filling her bowls. The muesli is a very straight forward effort of opening the big tub, throwing in approx portions of ingredients, shaking the tub and voila! ready to roll ;) Using the Easyio to make yoghurt takes less than 5 mins to prep. All 5 minute tasks and not arduous ;):D

Get Well Soon wishes to all who are unwell or have patients in the house.
Looking very grey out there this morning, which is just as well as I have a stack of photocopying to do and some other Admin tasks today. Really must think about resiting the computer and getting a proper computer chair now my admin time is going up. Need to get some baking done if the weather is going to be cooler today too. Must make a jelly for tonights dessert too.

    B: Yogurt & fruit
    L: Cheese and tomato sandwiches
    D: SC chilli;

Have a great day, everyone

Good morning everyone. I thought I'd join in today because I've got a head start owing to being awake before 3am and already having showered, got the shopping in, tidied up a bit etc.

Plans for today are simply to get the washing up from last night done (I fell asleep watching a film before I'd done it.) Catch up on the laundry. Cook some spinach to make a pizza, learn how to make one of the salads on my thread on lettuce, cucumber and tomato, take a picnic to the park, drop in at the library to change some books and wash the fridge.

And try to stay awake past 9pm.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
