Morning all:hello:
Wow, Queenie, you never cease to amaze me with how much you get done so early. Your avatar reminds me of another site I use called 'flylady' and it's so apt!
Catowen - Hope you get your ironing done today, I'm forever intending to do mine. When I was working it was allways done on a Sunday eve, now I never seem to 'get round to it'!
Broken wings - that recipe sounds tempting.... daren't try it though as I need to lose weight!
Bargain Rzl - yep your return (paragraphs) is working great today. Fingers x it'll stay that way!
Tootles - glad to hear that you're feeling much better. Shame your OH has it now, but as you say - probably man flu ;-)
Seems odd to log on and not see a post from PP on the daily thread. Hope all went well at the hospital.
My day went pear shaped before it began. I had been looking forward to a day of cleaning (yes, I was looking forward to it - when the place is really bad it makes me feel better to get it done). However just as I was off for my early night eldest DS decided he'd study at home
As his room is small it means he studies in the dining room which is an extension of the kitchen. I just find it so hard to get on when I know he's supposed to be studying. Problem is I enjoy his company so keep wanting to talk to him - but I know I shouldn't keep disturbing him
I did manage to crack on and clean the kitchen/dining area so once the floor is dry he'll be able to study in a nice clean tidy enviroment. In the meantime he's studying on the sofa - hence my being on here so I don't disturb him!!! :rotfl:
Had a call this morning from hospital to see if I could take a cancelled appointment tomorrow - jumped at the chance!!! It's to see a diabetes/endocrinology specialist. Not sure if it'll turn anything up, but I sure hope so as this frequent tiredness is making me feel pathetic and worthless. I'd love to go to college next year....
Hopefully the floor is dry by now so for the rest of the day I would like to:
Clean the bathrooms
Clean & tidy L/room
Put my bedding through wash & dry
Unpack boxes from yesterday
Update 'business' accounts
Attempt to find surface of desk under paperwork
Cook dinner!
make banana cake (2 very brown bananas)
Make sure veggies get watered
Get more grow bags and plant on corgettes
Plant more lettuce seeds (only done once so far  )
Loads more I'd like to add to this but best not!!!
Hope you all have a good day - and PP, thinking of you and hoping it goes well for you ((hugs))

Hello everbody,
Just off to bed shortly. I've been on DH laptop playing CSI game. Can't quite crack the case yet, I might have to resort to asking DD a clue seeing as she's done it.
Been busy today with house cleaning, ironing & some spreadsheets for house costings etc. I went for a walk this arv. It was lovely, the tide was in and I walked near the water.
Off to the hairdressers tomorrow. I hope it all turns out ok. This is my first try with one here. Oh well, it's cold enough to wear beanies if she makes a mess of it.Will grab a few groceries from Aldi before going as the h'dresser is close by. She'll probably be dazzled by Wally.
Ex DIL rang today. Her & DGS are arriving here on Thursday night & staying until Sunday.I'm not complaining but they were here only a fortnight ago for nearly 2 weeks. I will have to go and get the cot, high chair, nappies etc from the shed at the block again. I've only just packed them away.
Queenie The first day my kids use to go back I use to wander around like a lost sheep. Talking of sheepI wonder how KiwiChick is going.
Mushy Don't be scared, get even.
Tootles Glad your feeling better, my DH has the flu again. I've been giving him lemon juice & honey and he reckons it does wonders.
Enjoy your day & (((hugs)))) to those who need them. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
AussieLass - I hope you dont mind me asking but how cold is it where you are now? I always wondered what Australian Winters are like.0

Hello all again
Back from the shops and I've managed to get some more barginsI left for the shops straight from school not realising that JJB doesn't open until 10am :wall: so I decided to take a wander around the other shops.
I ended up going to McDonalds and getting a small diet coke as I was boiling hot (my forehead is BRIGHT red from the sun  ... literally!! :rotfl::rotfl: ), then took a wander along to Comet.
I've been looking at MP3 players for me to use as I walk alot further/faster when I've got music on but we haven't got any personal stereos anymore  Wasn't too shocked to find the cheapest was £49.99 but then I spotted a one ( here ) reduced from £44.99 to £29.99 as it was the last one :j So I'm happy as I'm now more likely to go for a long walk around the park on my own without feeling like a plonker
I then went back to JJB and looked through their clearance section. So I ended up coming out with a pair of Nike Jetstream 3 RRP £39.99 reduced to £12AND Kappa Serve RRP £29.99 reduced to £12. I bought both pairs as I wear trainers so much and it can be really difficult to find female trainers in a size 8
But then I was naughty and went into B&QI managed to spend £29 on gardening stuff
:o:o £6 on a book, £3.50 on slug killer (I'm giving in with salt as they're too good at hiding under the pots!) as I needed one where DD didn't have to stay away, another £3 on a sharperner for my secateurs (cheaper than constantly buying new ones and easier than trying to sharpen them with sandpaper or a seperate block ) and, apart from some seeds which I couldn't resist
, I bought some proper DEDICATED garden scissors. I'm figuring that although they cost £7 ( ) they'll be better than the kitchen scissors I have been using
After all that, I've walked home as well but had to make a pit stop at a shop to buy an ice-cream as my stomach was making HORRIBLE rumbling noises really loudly and I was way too hot. It cost me 65p for a Feast  I remember when they were 45p
Well I better go and get on with the washing (managed to drop the chocolate centre from the feast down my top as it broke off  ) and I have dishes to do as well as the school website which is almost finished. :j
Mind you I'm still hungry so I may hang around here for a bit while I eatCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Back to normal.
DS and i are eating quiche i made this morning and it is lovely a friends recipe uses youghrt instead of cream.
I dont think we are going to make it to wimpole so we will do something here.0 -
:hello:
It's a lovely day here at the mo, even tho I feel cold I know its warm really.:rotfl:
Have just had a phone call from bank about content & biuldings insurance which is due for renewal, they offered £15 M&S vouchers if I would continue with the policy, which was fine with me as after searching this was the best offer anyway ( not very often that the bank is that generous
Queenie I had the same problem with my credit card bill every month especially since my memory has gotten worse so I set up to pay the full amount each month by DD & hey ho no more probs.
We too are going away this weekend for 2 weeks (even tho we will be coming back to visit mum in hospital as she has no other visitors) have just ordered a new wheelchair & hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow - old one is not too comfortable for any length of time & as we are hoping to be able to visit a few places I need something with a bit more comfort
It looks lovely outside at the mo but unfortunately I can see how much needs doing now. But with working as a nurse, looking after me & visiting mum in hospital poor DH doesn't have time for the garden at present.:sad:Love to save & love a bargain0 -

I don't mind you asking me at all.Australian winters are pretty cold. Not as cold as yours of course but our homes aren't built for the colder weather. We don't have any heating on other than a small heater you can put in the lounge. Our houses aren't central heated, etc. Well not in Qld they aren't.
The temp atm are about 7 in the morning warming to about 20 during the day. It will get down to 0 shortly. I"m sitting here in winter pj, dressing gown, socks & slippers. :rotfl:Very very sexy I might add. When everybody thinks of Oz they think of hot weather but we do get colder weather. No snow though here where I live.
I found when we holidayed in Scotland during winter the houses too hot and stifling. I felt sort of claustophobic as we dress up in winter clothes with no heating on. The air being hot felt really dry. Me & DH would go for walks to feel the cold fresh air. They all thought we were mad.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Funky fairy - don't envy you with all those little uns running around fighting. I know someone who once hid in a cupboard to get a moments peace when she'd invited a few of her daughters friends 'round. The quiche sounds super yummy!
Aussie lass - hope the hair cut goes well. I thought it was allways warm on your side of the world. That said I thought Canada was a hot country....
Scruffy - good new about the vouchers, hope you get something nice with them.
I've certainly got a bit more energy than normal today thanks to my early night. Apart from cleaning the kitchen (includig floors!!) I've go a lamb 'cawl' in the S/C, a bolognese simmering for tonight and a loaf of seed & nut in the B/M.
Oh, and the bedding's just finished in the W/M. Pretty good for me!!
Best go do some lunch for DS and see if I can get some more done.
