Hi Again
Just waiting for friends to turn up with their tornado DD-she's 3 and a complete whirlwind:D
Half the decking has been painted and looks lovely, once done I'll get OH to take a picture and show you all. Its amazing what a sulking 11yr old can do with a paintbrush and wood paint;);) She is currently in her room finishing HW-personally I think she's ignoring me and keeping out the way, but when friends DD comes she'll be busy with her...probably watching a DVD.
See ya later.

Afternoon
It's another glorious day here
Church was "interesting" this morning, as our regular organist is away for half term and his substitute was very young and nervous and didn't really know what he was doing. Plus it's Pentecost, which means two of the hymns were really complicated and there's a whole lot of non-standard stuff going on at the end of the service - so the priests didn't really know what they were doing either  I had to concentrate so hard on making sure the organist knew what to play when, when to start, when to stop and so on, all between concentrating on my own singing, that when we came downstairs after the service I was actually shaking like a leaf!
Got given some more homegrown rhubarb by the nice man at church, then I came home via M&S where I finally managed to find some asparagus for my recipe, and at a very reasonable price tooThen popped into the Co-op for some Kallo chicken stock cubes, and Lidl for olive oil and flour. Have nearly bust the budget this week due to needing to restock on basics.
Nelski - bless!
jockettuk - chickenpox definitely seems to be going round at the moment. One of my colleagues' twin 3yo girls have both got it. It's a funny bug though. When my sis and I had it (at 6yo and 3yo) we were both really really ill and suffered complications for several years afterwards. But when my brother had it several years later at 5yo, he only missed a couple of days' school, and that was because he was infectious, not because he was feeling unwell!
VickyA - the way to see inside St Pauls for free is to go there for a service, or (as I did) to see a charity concert that was free entry (though I did of course make a donation for the charity)
tootles and FunkyFairy - ((((hugs)))) and get well soon! Also ((((johanne))))
I am thinking about going out again in about an hour and a half, as it's my only chance to see a certain opera production in a tiny studio theatre in town, where I know some of the cast. Also today is the 10th anniversary of the first opera I ever saw - so I feel like I ought to celebrate with a show! It will be nice if I do go, the theatre is just a little 60 seater above a very nice pub, and there are outside tables for having a lovely summer evening beer in the intervalI've been to things there before, and it's a lovely place.
See you later

Just wanted to say how thrilled I am with the lovely weather we are having! For the first time in ages, I have put all my washing on lines outside! I normally use the dryer(naughty!) but am really looking forward to air dried clothes!
Hope you are all having a lovely day!:beer:0 -

Youngest probably had only about 30 on her entire body. It is definitely one of those inevitable illnesses, you know they are going to get it at some point. Eldest had two weeks off preschool, as the spots kept on appearing for the first week, then we had to wait for those spots to crust over. She now has the faintest scar on her back, where 3 joined together!

Afternoon everyone
Today we all went shopping in Aylesbury. I managed to get some good bargains (including 2 Diadora t-shirts for DD for 1.79 each!!) Some Umbro football trainers for 12.99 (DD is doing a football course in the summer hols) and an England football shirt for 8.99 (reduced from 30 quid), however the best thing is I found some STARDROPS in Wilkinsons :T :T :T for 58p so I bought two. I have to say I wondered what all the fuss was about - but I have to agree it is amazing!!! Everything just.... gleams!! I am now a true convert and now I know where to get it (I have been looking for months) all my expensive cleaners (cilit bang, cif etc) are going - after they've all been used up of course
I did also manage to spend 50 quid in Next  But I did buy a lovely skirt and 2 gorgeous tops for work - I haven't had any new work clothes for 2 years - they're all disintegrating before my eyes
Hope everyone else is enjoying their day.
BTW Penny-Pincher - well done on sticking to your guns re DD. It's all to easy to let them get away with things for a quiet life :rolleyes:Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! Afternoon.
thought i would have a quick break from my work. It's been a funny old day. I've been getting myself orgnaised for the whole half term. I need to do a bit more marking before tomorrow, but i'm just about bushwacked for the day. I'm finding it hard work sitting at the table for too long before i get backache - it is making the baby wriggle a good bit too.I saw a glimpse of my shape in a full length mirror yesterday, and i look very pear shaped. I didn't realise my bump was quite that big.
Thanks for the tips Re: costco and what to look at. I was like a kid in a sweet shop yesterday, and that was just looking at a booklet. Any bargains to be had with the chocolate and booze?(naughty me - i shouldn't have either really at the moment.) It is opening at the end of the month, and i can see us filling the freezer and the garage. Might as well, and then the maternity pay won't have to go as far.
PP - sorry to hear your daughter is playing up. Early teenage stuff no doubt. She'll be ok again by tomorrow. Don't feel too bad.
well, best go and try and do a bit more. Dh is watching the posiedon adventure, and i'm half heartedly watching it too. It's more interesting than what i'm supposed to be doing anyway.
See you all tomorrow.

However,it wasn't the drunken, debauched evening Nels might like you to think it was....
HERE is what Nels got up to last night. Do you think it will ruin her street cred as a hard partying, single girl about town? :rotfl:
If you could read my lips though I was just telling him to scuttle quickly back to his mum with his tweenie book cos there was no way i was going to read it - lets face it, it could well ruin my evil, manipulative image:D . So he thought better of it and went back to mum and i finished off the wine:beer: :rotfl: Meanwhile TM poured herself another glass.......

P.S. I need advice. Mr Frizz spilt a whole carton of double cream last night and despite numerous floor cleans - the kitchen still smells like rank milk! What can I do to get rid of the smell?
Try a solution of bio laundry powderand tell him he's a very silly billy!
