Hi everyone!
Shez...my burnt muffins are hiding in a tupperware box in the fridge. Unfortunately I didn't get to do anything with them today because of an unscheduled parental visit. All I can say now is THANK GOD FOR MOGGINS AND HER FLYLADY CHALLENGE!!! I had to do some running around getting stuff put away and cleaned but didn't have to do the kitchen/diner or the bathroom because they were both done! I know my mother sneaked a peek into the bedrooms as well, so she saw that my room is perfectly clean and fresh. My little office got a quick spritz with a damp duster and junk was placed in a neat pile so was at least presentable. So Moggins you are wonderful, it is true!
And not just that...because there was a bit of a gap between the call to say they were coming and their estimated time of arrival I had time to bake some scones and a carrot cake, thus covering up any lingering burnt muffin smell. So Moggins and Old Style have conspired to make me impress my parents for about the first time in erum..ewww...30 years?!
Well, I've got to go and freeze the left over scones and the remaining cake - not that there is much left, but it'll do nicely for teabreaks at w*** during the week. Will bring cake in pre-sliced, it's far too dangerous to produce an actual knife in that office.
And just in case you thought I had forgotten..
!!Happy birthday to the birthday girls Glad and Pooky!!
I'm off to have a wee drinkie of wine, I may be back...

Good morning everybody,
Thought I'd come on now before I start my day. Dogs across the road have been barking since 5am . DH has just arrived home and is snoring soundly already. Ha.....Men.
VickyA I would love to contribute but I don't have any pounds, just dollars.
BargainRzl Congratulations on your savings. You must be so proud.
Snowy I'm impressed. :T I always had lots of notice when my mum would come to stay. Mainly she came in the school hols. A major blitz was done the two weeks leading up but I would pin a note on the fridge for jobs I wanted *her* to do.She was a pro at window cleaning, sewing curtains, cooking & gardening. By the time she left she needed a holiday.
Racy Thanks for sharing that with us. Keep us posted and good luck.
England won again. WOW. That's good news. I'd laugh if they got to play Oz. We play Italy next. I won't hold my breath. Oz has never won a game in the history of the cup so they are doing quite well this time.
I better make tracks & start the day's work. The sun is out today. :jDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Thank you AussieLass, I impressed myself too, but the real thanks is due to Moggins as I simply couldn't have let anybody into my house without having done the bit of the Flylady Challenge I had actually managed.
Far from having a relaxed dwinkie since my last post I've been out searching for Teddy the kittie cat. He likes going for long walks, and boy does that turn me into a nervous wreck. My three beautiful kitties which I brought with me from England to N.Ireland all died last year (on the road, kidney failure and old age), and I cannot bear the thought of losing either of my two new kitties. So when Teddy goes out hiking I get anxious in case he doesn't come back. He showed up again around midnight, and I've had a quick glass of vino, for medicinal purposes you understand:D.
Suppose I should go to bed. Have to go to that damn office place tomorrow. Boohoo.
Bye all, though I bet nobody reads this! Ha, talking to myself to go with the fat !!!!!! and grey hair!!

I read it Snowy.
What grey hairwhat fat !!!!!!
. A bit of extra padding for winter is here nor there. Grey hair can be dealt with. It's what on the inside that count's and Snowy you're one Beautiful Snowyowl.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Aww shucks AussieLass, you're a real beaut too! FYI my "extra padding" should see me through winter, and probably right through the next ice age.
Now, who do I make the cheque out to...?0 -
Hello everyone!
It's Monday, and for once I am looking forward to it! This, in case you have forgotten, will be the day that Moggins reveals the extraordinarily significant nugget of information which will help us keep our homes clean, neat and tidy. Ooooooo I can't wait:D.
The only other excitement so far today is that next door seem to be having some sort of competition which involves nailing doors shut and shouting or grunting at each other. I do wish they would shut up.
I had a drop too much caffeine yesterday during the non-scheduled parental visit and can't get to sleep. Even without the racket from next door I'd still be wide awake. Serves me right for having two cups of coffee so late in the day.
Moggins, hope your DD is showing some improvement and that the Lucozade is staying down.
FunkyFairy, glad you were feeling better yesterday, hope that you're feeling better still today.
PenPen...how was Buckingham Palace? Did you see the Queen? What was the food like? I bet it was absolutely fabulous.
So Moggins, what day are we on with the Flylady Challenge? Is it officially Day Seven, or is it Week Two Day One? I'm only on about day four or five due to sleepathon on Tuesday and relapse on Friday. Edinburghlass, what day are you on:rolleyes:?
If I can keep my peepers open this evening I will attack some outstanding paperwork in my home office.
Happy Monday everybody.

Couldn't get to sleep last night. Don't know why....bean just didn't want me to be tired for some reason. As a result I'm feeling completely knackered, and its only going to get worse.
We've arranged to have the girls over in the summer for 2 weeks. 1 week we will be off work and we will take them places, and the second they'll be left to their own devices. One daughter only agreed because of the prospect of 24/7 broadband internet access. Might try to set a few things up for their Dad to do with them though that week. Eg, swimming. One of them is bound to get bored at some point and I want something in the bag just in case.
Breakfast: Very little...not hungy
Lunch: Usual nibbling
Tea: No idea
Yes...I'm feeling very organised today.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Morning lovelies!
Not much OS going on in the house of ancasta at the minute, this wedding seems to be spend spend spend. Not frivolously like, for necessities but we're almost done.
eeeeeeeeeh
Will post back later once my head is in gear0
