Evening all
Hope everyone is well today
PP - hope you enjoyed your hammock
TM - enjoy your BBQ - I defo would taste the screw top bottles as well - you never can be too careful:D
Twink - know what you mean about the AH - the one I take makes me sleep like a baby at night (if I take it at night) if I take it in the morning then I am ok
Elona - hope you dad is feeling better
(((hugs))) to everyone else
Well after work yesterday I got 2 loads of washing done and dried - just hung all the stuff straight from the line onto hangers and put away in the wardrobe.
Tidied up the hell hole that was my bathroom and hall landing - just got to hoover there tonight - toliet cleaned and all rogue shower smellies decanted into the empty shower gel bottles in the shower (the ones with the hook that you hang ). ~Stripped and changed the bed and put the bedding on over night.
Went to bed about 1130pm - woke up at 2.15 then 6.00 then when OH came in from nightshift bout 830 - fell back asleep till 11.15 when someone rang the house - knew by the MO that it would be OH kids - was proved right when they called earlier this afternoon. Hung the bedding out - this is now folded and put away again.
Cats are grounded again because of the littlest one - she killed another baby bird this afternoon and the parents tried to attack her - OH smacked her and she has only just came out from behind the couch (funnily just as OH was going out the door on NS)
The weather here has been beautiful today - if it is nice tomorrow we may go a run and for lunch somewhere
Off to have a little surf now
Take care all and have a lovely evening

Hiya all,
I hope everyone is well? Beautiful sunny day here and, as I had the place to myself I've been rocketing around sorting stuff. (AKA making an even bigger mess than there already was, but what the hell...)
I am so excited! I just checked my home grown mushrooms and my first Shii take ones are ready for harvesting! :j :j :j :j :j I cannot tell you how chuffed I am! Lets hope the chestnut ones come up soon too! Omlette for supper tonight I thinkShame I don't have a hen so I could have home laid eggs as well! II'll snip a little dill from my herb pots for added flavour though and polish my halo in between courses. :rotfl:
TM, screw top bottles absolutely must be tested too in my opinion, sampling every bottle of wine to ensure it is fit for guests is a tough job but someone has to do it! :T
This evening I'm going to have a go at making some more salt and sugar scubs and massage oil blends. I've been reading The Fragrant Pharmacy and it is really facinating. Once I've done that I think I will just have to try one out while I relax in the tub and finish my book. I love Saturdays
I hope everyone has a lovely evening. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

It's been a lovely day thanks to the delightful weather, even though it didn't quite turn out the way I'd planned it! I spent most of the day hunting asparagus (yeah it's a blood sport
) - I mean, I was certain the asparagus season is supposed to last another week or two, but I searched the whole of Welling, Blackfen and Sidcup and NOBODY had any
The last place I tried was a greengrocer in Sidcup, where I asked the lady in the shop who said that there hadn't been any deliveries of saleable asparagus since Tuesday
Anyway, that meant my planned asparagus risotto could not be cooked after all. I have all the other ingredients so will try Blackheath farmers' market tomorrow, then give up.
I have at least managed to achieve a few things in the meantime - like visiting the bottle bank, getting some shoes mended, purchasing a very nice shocking-pink V-neck jumper in a charity shop (£2.50), putting away an enormous mountain of clean washing - and am now in the midst of preparing a salad for dinner - all the ingredients are things which I already had - jersey royals, chives, tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, olive oil, pepper, vinegar - and I reckon it'll make enough for two portions if not three
Wish I was at TM's barbecue

Good evening everyone,
Well, what a lovely day it has been, im so glad that summer seems to be here at last!!!!
Managed to do my mystery shops today, and my children have been incredibly good, as we trapsed around Plymouth doing LOADS of shopping!!! Mind you, most of it was for them, so i suppose they cant complain!!! Im hoping i now have everything we need for our holiday, mind you, i could do with some new sun glasses (which i forgot about) so i might pop into town next Tuesday. The children keep saying 'this time next week' so we are really getting excited now!!!!
DSs team did very well this morning, they won 7 -1 and us mums had a lovely time, sat on the grass enjoying the sunshine. Then, very non - OS we went and bought pasties from the lovely pasty shop for lunch!!! We dont do it often so it was a nice treat for us.
Im letting the children stay up a bit later as its saturday, but have a nice glass of red wine, and am being really tempted with a packet of crisps, mind you, ive eaten so much junk today i should have some fruit, but never mind!!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Evening All
Glad everyone has had a nice day!
Managed to get out in the garden for an hour-but not with my new book. OH helped me onto the hammock and nearly broke my neck:eek:.....getting off was worse;)
DD has been busy doing this and that and helped me with some of the tea. Tea was lovely and as I thought, there is tons left:rolleyes:, but have put in the fridge-so thats tomorrows lunch sorted. Someone is having a BBQ behind where we live and smells devine...do you think there mind if I ask/beg for a burger
All washing has been taken upstairs but havent managed to get up there today, so am hoping when I go up to bed, it wont be too messy. OH & DD have assured me that its tidy.
Have invited a friend round whilst OH is at golf tomorrow, so looks like I wont get much of my essay done. DD is at friends for the afternoon and evening so should manage to get a little in. She is currently having a bath and I will get in after before I go to bed....save on the water:D
Anyway, Id best go. Hugs to all.

Evening all,
Just got in from the garden, have been out there since 1pm!!. Have put up 2 bean nets for my runner beans and peas, planted out my courgettes, done a load of washing and weeding, and have had a BBQ. DH has mown and strimmed both lawns and washed both cars.
Hoping to take DD10 for a long bike ride tomorrow, weather permitting.0 -
What a beautiful day it's been, even the neighbour's horrid yappy dog yapping away all day hasn't managed to spoil the mood!
Dorry Deja Dead is a fab book - I love Kathy Reichs!
Bargain Rzl Re asparagus, I moved into a new house (new to me, not brand new!) years ago and was delighted to find some asparagus plants in the garden! It was so delicious - really fine and tender, not like some of the tree trunks the shops try to palm you off with:A "I love deadlines. I particularly like the whooshing sound they make as they go by." the late lamented Douglas Adams:A

Morning Everyone!!
Hope everyone had a good nights sleep. Ive been up and down all night, so thought Id open the thread today:p
WM is on and will be hung outside again. DW needs emptying and the toilet has been cleaned. Everywhere is clean and tidy still from friday.
Last night at about 9pm, I had the sudden urge to do something and ended up sorting out all my paperwork:eek:....theres loads to burn with personal stuff on it, so OH may light the chimninea (sp) in the back garden later in the evening as he also has some wood to burn. I got finshed about 10.30:cool: Also found the paperwork for the free congestion charge as I have a disabled blue badge. Have to fill in the forms and send £10 admin cheque off but if we ever need to go through london during congestion charging-we dont have to pay.
Am really hoping to get a few things on Ebay today, even if its just a few items. Need to build my Ebay savings account back up as there are some stuff we need around the house and cant really fund them any other way, par from putting on my credit card and dont want to do that.
OH is doing a couple of jobs around the house today, then he's off to golf at 3. He hasnt been in ages and normally just goes up the driving range, but today he's playing 9 holes. He's really looking forward to it and gives him a break from me and looking after me etc. I have his friends wife coming over and shes lovely. They are in quite alot of debt so am going to show her this site and how she might cut back on meal planning, looking for cheaper utilities etc:D
DD is off round her friends for the afternoon and having dinner there, so wont be seeing her probably at all this afternoon. They are having a full roast, so she will be very happy.
OH & I might be naughty and have a take-away later. DD doesnt like Indian food so we may just have a curry between us, a 1/4 tandori chicken, naan bread, mushroom rice and bombay potatoes. They throw in the salad with the chicken-but is only a starter. Should cost about £10....but will tast gorgeous Im sure;)
Hope your BBQ went well TM and that your guest didnt have you up too much boozing and floozing:rotfl:
Breakie:Scrambled Egg/Toast
Lunch:Left over buffet bits from yesterday
Dinner:Maybe an Indian take-away
Have a great day everyone. Hugs to all.
