Washing is on the line - dishwasher is whirring - cups are in solution to remove tea stains and kitchen bin is bathing in Stardrops and bleach solution.
Going to take DD (12) to Glasshoughton to see renovated discount centres and to cinema to see Mission Impossible 3 unless we see anything else that we fancy.
Will treat ourselves to lunch as well as I feel really guilty that she has been sidelined due to Grandad being in hospital.

Hope that you are having a better day and that your specially adapted caravan is suitable for you.
Grandad is hoping to leave hospital next week and be "assessed" to see what level of care he will need in the future. Fingers crossed for him but feel torn as although he wants to be independant I feel he will need more care and professional supervision than he thinks.
Lovely day here."This site is addictive!"

It's summer! There is this funny coloured sky.... only blue, not a cloud in sight... bright shiny thing up in the sky.. strange feeling of warmth...
D/w is emptied & started the filling process all over again
Washing load no. 1 on line, no. 2 in WM
I have even started cleaning the dreaded conservatory blinds. I love the look of the blinds, they are dark wood venetian blinds. But you can't dust them, because bits of duster just adhere to the surface & add to the dust, you can't wash them cos they are wood. I even bought one of those things that looks like a hairy tuning fork, but doesn't work. So it's a wash with a slightly damp microfibre cloth... takes ages! I am doing 1 at a time (a la flylady "you can do anything for 15 minutes") I have 9 blinds so should keep me busy for a while. I want to do some gardening as well.
Have a good day!0 -
Lovely morning here in the East Mids but I am still in bed, had a very bad night woke up coughing about every hour, think a visit to the Dr is called for on Monday if I have not improved. My chest feel sore with all the coughing, but nothing to show for it, if you know what I mean.
OH is out planting up lettuce and tommys in grow bags in the back garden, although was have an allotment there are some things we need a little closer to hand........
Have a good day and ((((((((((HUGS))))))))) to those who need them.

Morning
It's gone 11am so I spose it's time I got out of bed(well, maybe when Saturday Kitchen's over!
)
Will be off to Lidl shortly to see if they have any asparagus at a cheapo price. I printed off a recipe for a delish-looking asparagus risotto from the BBC website yesterday, and I quite fancy making a batch of it for tonight's dinner and the freezer. Need lemons for the recipe too. Question: if I can't get unwaxed lemons and I need lemon zest, is there an easy way of getting the wax off first?
Need to get the WM on and do some tidying, but in general I'm aiming for a relaxing day, as I may or may not go out tomorrow and Monday evenings, then for the next 3 weeks after that I'm out nearly every evening! So I need to think about meal planning around not cooking very often, while still having enough portions for 2 meals a day of microwaveable/non-cook items. Today's lunch will be a lovely healthy salad, with tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and new potatoes - plus I think the quantity I've got should be ample to keep some for tomorrow
Right, off to get dressed

Afternoon Peeps
The weather is lovely here today. Washing is on the line thanks to DD and my supervision;) OH has just finished mowing the front and back lawn and DD has trimmed the edges. DD has also done her room and fed her dragons.
OH is dropping the mower off to his brothers in a minute and stopping in at Lidls for a few esentials as we are running low and DD back at school monday for packed lunches. Only have 2 yogurts left:eek:
Thinking of doing a buffet style tea tonight. Have some new potatoes, 1 boil in bag rice and a few odd peas than can be added, ham , eggs etc that need using up. Whatever we dont have tonight can be eaten tomorrow for lunch. Might do some HM pot salad. Can be counted as a free meal as we already have them in:DHave a ton of eggs needing using, so will get the pastry I have in the freezer out later and ask OH to knock one up tomorrow when the meat is cooking for dinner. Have mushrooms, onions, cheddar, ham etc-so that will do a few lunches too.
Im going to go out in the garden later but think I will have a snooze first as my head keeps going funny:rotfl:
Anyway, take care all.

Hello again
Well, today's plans are out of the window. Due to having our summer today, the BBQ is being dusted off, the kitchen is now full of assorted meats/salad/bread rolls and of course, I've blown the budget on wineJust had to buy a couple of bottles of other things too - can't have guests round and nothing else to offer them
So, chatted to friend this morning - upshot is they are bringing their toothbrushes, some steak and some (more) wine and we will party all night (alright, sit in the summerhouse, drink the wine, eat the food and have a darned good natter
)
Better go and change the spare bed, hoover the carpet and start preparing the salads, potatoes etc. Might just have to open a bottle before the guests arrive. After all, I have to sample everything in case it's corked(Erm, does the fact some of it has a screw top mean I can't sample those too? .....<innocent wide eyed grin> )
PP - I wish I had a hammock - I did have a swinging bench seat thingy but it's brokenMust save up for another one - I adore them.
PS If any one's passing, pop in for a burger or a vino. I live at .....0 -
Afternoon all
What a stunning day....even better that we didn't wake up until 9.30am! DD's are staying with my parents for the weekend so the house was silent...bliss.
We cut the back lawn today - took ages...DH strimmed whilst I cut....emptied the mower box 8 times!!!! All looking lovely now though.
Popped to town for some suncream (savers had it half the price of anywhere else) and some fruit and veg in the market, they didn't have a huge range today but got a carrier full of plums £1, a carrier full of grapes £1 and a carrier full of cherry toms £1....going to roast some of the toms with garlic and shallots to go with a jacket potato for dinner, the parrot is tucking into the plums and grapes that were just past their best for me.....he's looking quite cute with plum all round his beak.
Did pop into a clothes shop on the way back to the car (naughty me) and got a lovely skirt, long dark denim, reduced to £8 and a pair of turn up jeans and the nicest pair of shoes I've ever owned....small thin heel with a t-bar and ankle strap...very dainty and even better for being reduced....DH managed to get the cash out before I'd had chance to feel guilty....he said it was an early birthday pressie
The rest of the day will be spent having a surf for pate reciepes for the slow cooker and watching one of the 4 dvds (free trial) sitting here....such a hard life!
Hope you've all had a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
[STRIKE]Morning[/STRIKE]Afternoon all!
It's glorious here also (sunny south wales). Late night last night as working, but still up in time to get car to it's Mot, and took the boys to a lovely 'park' while it was done. Sat and had a lovely cuppa & milkshakes next to the boating lake. It was quite expensive, so next time will take a flask. I did resist buying cakes though. I always feel that I should spend money to make it special???
This hols they've not spent much time together as eldest is studying/doing paper round/at gym and the middle is busy with his new mates so it was nice to have all together. Won't be long before they all fly the nest....
Great news - car passed it's Mot 1st time. Not even a single 'advisory note!!'. I sooo love my Volvo. Did another taxi round and took youngest to a nice 'country park' with his bike & dog, came home & fell asleep
Tonight we have 'cawl' with fresh h/m granary bread. Going to have to come up with a new menu now the nice weather is here, it's a bit warm for the curry's and stews I've been making
Well, I've woken up a little now so I think I'd best work out how I can best make use of the rest of the day.
I hope you all have a good one,
