Went down with DH to Dad's house at 8.30 a.m. to get him packed ready for ambulance to take him to the hospice at 9.30.
By the time I got him settled in and details recorded, chat with doctor etc it was about 1p.m. so nipped across to tesco and got roast chicken, salad veg and rolls.
Need to get his washing from last night and this morning ironed and then go bacl to the hospice.
He should be there for about two weeks while they assess and treat him and then a decision should b
e made as to what care he really needs. Hoping decision is not taken out of our hands - but it is a lovely place and he was looking a little brighter when I left.
DH then decided to tell me how I should be looking after myself - going back on diet etc etc.
I know he means well but at the moment I just do not have the time or the energy!!!!
Thanks for the supportive p.m.s. l"This site is addictive!"

Afternoon.
Thank god i've got through another week of w***. Do you think bosses are predisposed to be mean? As we all seem to have one with a nasty streak. Mine turned up today with all his deadlines met, after taking a day off to catch up. Lucky him. Wish we all had that luxury eh? I'd get loads done if i was at home for a day.
DH is apparently working for most of tomorrow so i will use that for doing school work and catching up with the FLC. Then i can go for a shopping spree on Sunday. :j Fab idea as i no longer fit in my PJs and it is a bit indecent.
Roz Just thought i would reassure you about your ka. The rear bushes go frequently on cars that drive around Sheffield due to the hills and pot holes in the road, not the driving. Every car we owned while there had that problem, although since moving it hasn't been a problem. It's not that expensive to fix.
Just sitting with the 2 cats and catching up here, and watching a charmed dvd. Will do more tomorrow. I promise Moggins. Hope you haven't been too put off today by having your DH at home.
Hope you can all put the carp week behind you and have a lovely weekend. Hugs to you snowy as your day seemed particularly mean, and congrats to brzl on the end of an era.
Hugs,
Michelle, xx0 -
Joannasmum - Have you read toddler taming by Christopher Green? I think all Mums should be given a copy to save their sanity! Most libraries have a copy (some have a few).http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0091875285/026-7303407-4774004?v=glance&n=266239
Pen Pen - Is the party being shown on TV? If it is, are you going to wear something that gives us a clue (lol - or should that be not wear if flylady forgets to tell you to dress )
Moggins - thoughts of you whacking OH with that bat made me chuckle. Does he not realise that yesterday he came close to it even though you could see it was him????
It sounds as though quite a few of you are in need of TLC today, so virtual hugs to everyone that is doing their best to cope with difficult situations and I hope things improve for you soon.
I've had quite a lazy day today as was shattered last night. Couldn't bear the thought of DS2 playing and me not being there to watch so I did stay for the Gig. Strobe lighting and heavy metal music not too good for my headache!!!
Did a little shopping this morning and came home to nurse aching head on sofa. Made a lovely pizza for dinner and shortly need to taxi 2 DS's to various places. I would like an early night but I'm likely to be needed for collection also..... Still, luckily they are old enough for me to be able to try and have a lie in tomorrow (It'll be your turn before you know it Joannasmum)
Tomorrow I have to make a picnic to take on Sunday (taking DS3 to westmidland safari park) and plan the route. Hopefully I will get an early night then as I have to drive both ways and I'm taking a friend and her daughter (who tends to be rather 'excitable' IYKWIM)
Maybe I should call into a sweetie shop for one of those huge gobstoppers....

Me again ,back like a bad penny!
I think there must be lots of families with secrets.
About 8 years after my father died ,my mother had a letter from his Granddaughter!! Her mother and Aunt were his twin daughters from his first marriage(my mum knew nothing about it at all!). I did go on a visit with OH and they were lovely people with their own OH's and lots of kid's but it did feel odd to meet them knowing my dad was their dad. We didnt keep in touch as it just felt like intruding into someone elses private life.
This morning I managed to find the floor in our bedroom , Bag up some old clothes for DD to 'make stuff with' and chuck out some ancient PC mags, make a new batch of yoghurt and get a wash in and out. OH is back at work today .
Last night while stroking the cat ,I found he had a Tic (ewe!) and we had to cover it with vaseline to smother it. I think it takes a couple of days to fall off. Today in consequence I went around the garden with the shears cutting down any long grass where tics might lurk ,our garden is about 240 ft long and about 55ft wide so it took a fair old time.
DS made spag bol for tea and we had the strawberries and redcurrants that grew in the garden ,with yog for after .
Have a lovely relaxing weekend everyone,

Evening everyone
Well, it's now the end of a very long week! It's been "World Cup Week" at school and each teacher has done an activity linked to a country of their choice in the afternoons with the children moving around the pool! I'm now fed up of singing the same french songs................ Luckily, each class that I had were relatively well behaved.
Nothing exciting happening this evening, other than OH will be cooking supper (ie sausages, eggs and beans) whilst I put my feet up with a glass of wine. I don't drink anything during the week for the sole reason that I am completely useless the following day at work - even after one glass!
Oooooh, forgot to tell you all that as two of us teachers are getting married this summer, the other members of the staffroom are holding a second "hen do" for the two of us.Everyone is providing buffet and booze, whilst one lady is providing her back garden for us to party in! Bless, they're so sweet. I just hope that the muppet that is the (male) head doesn't decide to turn up................

Love your Signature Pen!
If you spot a camera zooming in on you while you're there don't forget to tell your lovelies to walk in line and waddle so that Kaz can recognise you !
Hope you all have a fabulous time (as if you could do anything but have a good time there!)
Your DD has good taste - I love Monsoon, though have never ever found anything to fit me in the sale....
Mushy Peas - sounds like a lovely freebie evening! As for going back to work, are you having a staggered return? Took months for me to be back working my full hours, and the bonus was I was payed full pay as soon as I went back. Sorry if I've missed it in another post, but preferred you think me a nincampoop than not make sure you new about it!!!

Feeling very satiated right now, just finished supper, spag bol, garlic bread and half a bottle of Chianti????? is that how you spell it?????Strawberries and cream for dessert.
Went to my friends this afte, she had bought a new DVD player, I fixed it up for her and she gave me the old one......have to get one of those 4 gang scart thingys and a couple of leads, but should be able to fix it up to play DVD's on the TV in the sitting room instead iof wtaching them on the lap top or on the kitchen TV.
We have been offered a one bedroomed flat in a local developemnt, we have to wait till Monday to arrange to view, I am in two minds, it would save us £100 a month on the rent, and a lower council tax band as well, but living in close communion with quite a few other people????????????? not sure about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We would have to have an everything must go sale as it only has one bedroom,we have two here, my sewing room would have to go and I would have to take out my machines as I want to use them, here. no garden??????????? not really sure about this will have to give it some considerable thought......................We could keep the allotment and I suppose grow some flowers there as well as veg, but we would have to leave the implements there....... the sheds often get broken into, so we tend to leave nothing there of any value..............ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what to do.
Starting to look at where to go in October for a break, fav right now is Heligan in Cornwall for a week, but hanker after a trip to Paris, we had to cancel one earlier this year when I was taken ill the day before we were due to leave..........
