    Hello all

I'm at home at the moment, had to flee from w*** as I got a bit upset. Had a conversation this morning about some spreadsheets I did a while ago, seems they weren't done quite right. After the conversation she went and complained to a director about my attitude so I got a "chat" about that. Thing is I WASN'T off hand!! She was in a grumpy mood because she has a deadline looming and has been doing overtime and so on and is under pressure. I went and confronted her and told her she was mistaken. Maybe not the best way to handle it but I was v.v.annoyed that she didn't tell me, didn't tell my manager, but went straight to a director to complain! She also put the blame on me for the fact that she's about to miss her deadline - I did my bit two weeks ago! Oh gawd I hate that effing place, it is all BLAME BLAME BLAME and pass the buck:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:.

Well, I ended up having a good old blub, and am at home for lunch now (luckily had made an impulse buy of some chocolate yesterday evening). I know that this is trivial, and in the grand scheme of things it is just a little blip. But even so, nobody likes to get stabbed in the back and I felt that I had to defend myself. Sorry for the rant but I am as mad as hell!!!

Phew, glad to get that out and get the chocolate in. I am so cross I am going to have a Mars bar when I get back.

Roz_V - did you take your car to a Ford place or just an ordinary private garage? I used to use Ford in Enfield, thought they were v.good and not too dear, then I wised up...I was paying for their v.polite receptionists and nice waiting room etc etc. BTW if they have replaced any components make sure they give the old ones back to you. I know this request has caught a few places out, ie they fibbed.

PenPen I am so incredibly jealous you're going to the garden party in buck house. Oh you lucky lucky thing!!! A friend of mine managed to get into one of the concerts (the classical one) for the Golden Jubilee, and I was v.jealous then too.

BargainRzl...congrats on getting away from that woman!! Just a few more hours and things are going to be better for you at w***, ya lucky thing!

Oh noooo, no nooooo nooooooo!!!! Gotta go back to that sh*t hole...:(:(

    See you all later.

Just back from yoga - feel sooooo chilled I could freeze a chip pan on fire. Only two more weeks though and then the summer break! THere are continuation slots durign the summer, but unfortunately they will be on Wed nights at 6 and I cannot guarantee getting back from w**k by then, so had to decline

DH home today as he is working from home - then he's off to Wales on his motorbike to play with his biker chums for the weekend. Will miss him though looking forward to having the facial that I booked a while ago, and getting stuck into the FLC.

Happiness abounds. There is a space at the back of us which is being 'developed', i.e. 10 houses put on it. We have objected to one of the houses being position along our back fence. Happy to encourage planned village growth normally, but thought that this one was taking the mick. Gable end of both house and garage would be along our fence THEN they added a link way between the two!!!!!!!!! So going from open aspect to 50' of brick and tile to look at felt a step too far!! Council dragging their heels 0- why do they NEVER return my calls?? Developer too getting fed up and came round to see us with compromise. This morning, they have come back with no linking bit, and garage and house moved 6 m away from fence! :j :j :j Just goes to show - and we have been polite and factual about it, as opposed to emotional and unreasonable. E.g. neighbours who objected to the fact that the new houses were 3 storeys and therefore not in keeping with the village - er, folks and how many storeys are your houses???!!!! Unbelievable!!

Anyway, must get on - have promised to pick up niece from school at 3.30 and then nephew at 4.15 (gymnastics apparently!), then feed and entertain them until SIL can get home. Love these opportunities to play AUnty! It's the reason I moved back to my roots..........

Hugs to everyone whether they need them or not!! Love listening to you all

    Hi everyone!
Managed to get the bedding and towels changed before leaving this morning and there is a white wash awaiting my attention when I get home and more importantly the small person's uniform. How is it that 8 year old boys can get so filthy within 15 seconds of putting anything on....or is it an phenomen exclusive to my small person!!!
This evening we're doing our meal of starters...our contribution is sausage patties with Cumberland sauce and tandoori chicken kebabs. The rest of the meal will be a surprise so am very over excited:T :T
Shall have to go easy on the jungle juice as am back at work tomorrow morning which looks to be a busy one and then strawberry picking. Will also need to gird my loins and face Tesco at some point as OH is off on a jolly next week and will have the thing with a wheel at each corner. It's shank's pony for us next week.
Sunday looks to be a day for sorting out the garden and putting up our new £15composter- that should be fun transferring the compost from the old one:rolleyes: and working up the momentum to start repainting the shed. Then again I may go to my friend's party. Oh decisions decisions!!
    Have a great OS weekend

((((hugs)))) SnowyOwl, I feel bad for you still stuck in your rubbish job when I'm on the verge of dancing out of the office door singing "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" :p Still at least you have a goal in sight with your plans to return to education ... I've got stacks done this morning ... Desk was buried in paperwork thanks to general office habit of copying things to far too many people, meaning that I'm always getting people coming up to me with a little pile of papers saying "Not sure if you've already got these in the files" (which usually I have) "but they're no use to me and didn't want to think I might be chucking out the only copy" ... This afternoon I need to pick up that where I left off, plus getting some letters out and updating some Excel files ... New job is going to be a lot more thinking/doing/meetings and a lot less admin support :j :j :j - BUT I WISH THEY'D GET MY BL**DY PAY RISE SORTED  ... (d'you think the HR dept/new boss might have heard that? :D) ... I just need to know because (a) I'm not having them trap me in a new role and then offer me a tiny little rise I wouldn't accept from anybody else (thing is, every July we get a small increase for cost of living anyway, and I'm not having them calculate my pay rise in "old money" without the increment, which has been known to happen in the past :mad: ), and (b) my whole grand scheme of buying a flat in the near future hinges on it ...:rolleyes::rolleyes: ... Rzl xxx

    ((((((((((((((((Snowy)))))))))))))

I prescribe a long bubble bath and a bar of chocolate!

It's tales that this that make me glad I'm a SAHM now, I remember bosses like that only too well :(

p.s. I am shattered. It took 3 hours to get my parents round Lidl and Tesco and carry their shopping, load the car, unload it for them at the other end and carry it into the house. Then get home and unload mine too and put it away. The lack of sleep from last night is already catching up on me so I am going to pick DD up from school, have a 20 minute nap, dig something out for tea and then catch up with the Challenge this evening.

rebl43 - In those sort of circumstances you can only think - 'everything happens for a reason'.

    .

    Thanks Essex-girl, I believe that as well.:p

To all those having a bad time at work - I'm right with you.

Keep smiling and just think of the money. I know some are waiting for pay rises - so am I. Just make a note of everything you do and throw it at them!!!
