    Morning all :hello:

Woke up fairly early this morning because I got a text message at 4am from my best friend who's in America for 3 months - she can be the blondest of blondes at times and must have forgotten that I'd be in bed!! Anyway I was contemplating getting up when i duly fell back asleep... Finally woke up at half seven when OH dragged the duvet off me and started nagging at me to get a move on as I had to drop him at work then take the Ka for its service

So now I am ka-less for the one day that I had planned to need it  and also have to spend the day waiting for the call to say that it's ready so that I can dash down and hopefully get some of the stuff done that I wanted to!

Had two nice bits of money-news last night - the first was in email form from an agency who I rented a house off almost a year ago (I moved out 7 months ago) saying that my deposut cheque for £250 was now ready and waiting... Well it has only taken them 7 months and twice as many nasty emails from me to get it sorted!! And then a couple I used to work for at a campsite cafe in the Peaks phoned me to ask if I'd like to work 3 weekday mornings for them over the summer holidays to cover them whilst one of them Cash n Carries... I'll need to check with my other boss that he can rota me in either evenings or on the other mornings, but even if it only works out that I can do 2 mornings at the cafe it'll be fab because I love working there (and also I get free food  )

Snowy - I started tidying my temporary office space yesterday and wished that I had never started!! In the end I gave up, packed it all into a box, and vowed to sort it when we finally move into the new flat!

Queenie - We say the same about PMT and, in fact, I'm sure men are worse than us girls with it!!

Michelle - Sounds like a busy day - don't forget to factor in some "me" time or you'll just get yourself wound up and not get anything done!

    Essex-Girl - I love the circus - have fun!

Chipps - Don't forget to "get dressed to shoes" when you've finished shining the sink or you may suffer slight embarrassment upon leaving the house! ;)

Skystar - Can only repeat advice offered above to talk to your mum to find out how "open" the secret is. I'm sure you won't act wierd around your cousin if you know exactly who knows what.

Moggins - Wrap your OH up in cotton wool and bubble wrap and leave him on the sofa under strict instructions not to touch anything sharp or breakable!!

TM - "own clothes day" used to be the bane of my life when i was at school - especially if someone else wore the same top/trousers as me!! I've been known to go home and change if that happened!! :D

And good morning to anybody else who has posted whilst I've written this...

Off to enjoy a cuppa with some chocolate and caramel digestives that I've got stashed away :shhh:

Hope you all have a good day :)

    Morning All

Another bad night with DD, she seems to have got a habit of waking at 12 and not wanting to stay in her cot after that. Last night we had another bout of hysterical screaming before I relented and put her in bed with me. I really dont know what to do so any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Today we have to go and view a house with my sister at 2pm. Its in Blackpool so a good hours drive. Before that I intend to do my house blessing for the weekend.

Better go as I have just noticed that DD has managed to take off her nappy.

Morning all ((((((((HUGS))))0 to those who want them.

Its funny how things come out isn't it, I had a great aunt who I uderstood to be the yougest daughter found out after she died that she was in fact my second cousin, she was the daughter of the eldest daughter of the family and had been brought up by my great grandparents as theirs!!!!! Her father turned out to be the brother of my great uncles wife, convoluted ay??????????

Tesco this morning, I am visiting a friend this afternoon and she asked me to get some shopping in for her, she lives in a small viallge and has no transport since her husband died last year, so I shop for her when she needs bulky stuff.

Not a bad morning here the wind has dropped, sun is out, but cloudy IYKWIM.

    Off for now....................

    Good morning everyone!

More hugs to Shez and Moggins (and moggin's DH for sore ribs). Hugs to skystar, joanna'smum, and anyone else who needs one.

LOL at PMT Queenie!!! :rotfl: thats exactly what my OH has!

Well, it's my long weekend off......Avoided a nasty confrontation with a confused old resident (she found my releif before she found me!) and have now taken the office phone off the hook in the house and locked the door. Peace til 9am Tuesday.

    So, the plan for today:

    *FL the bathroom
    *FL this room
*take the dog for a LONG walk
*find a suitable savings account for trip money
*find at least three jobs for OH to apply for
*get OH to agree to budget for next month

    that's enough for one day!

hope everyone has a good, productive day!

    Hello all
I have been reading about the FLC for a while now, intending to start it, and then decided that today was going to be the day I start (as DH has informed me that he is having a "works barbeque" at our house next wednesday- 40+ people!!).
Then yesterday I fell on my arm, ended up in A + E, and now have to wear it up in a sling for a week!!
So all the good intentions I had are wasted.

  • Hi Joanna's mum,

Am butting in on the daily thread (which I love and try and read as often as poss - I find it relaxes me!) to let you know what Supernanny said on Richard & Judy for the exact same problem (child would sleep for 4 hours and then wake up refusing to stay in cot etc..) Supernanny said (!) you must be tough - the child has learnt that if she carries on for long enough she will get her reward i.e. a warm bed and cuddle with mum. She said it will be tough for maybe 5 nights but that should crack it.

Good luck - no sleep is horrible for you!

Sparkly (hope I don't sound bossy!)

    Hello everybody,

Still raining here. Had our tea. DD missed the 7pm ferry home, so will now be home on the 8pm one. DH at w***. I am just about to have my shower & give everything a good swish around. :D I made a Weetabix Cake today that was posted here not that long ago. Tasted lovely.

Off to the city tomorrow with DD & friend. DH will be sound asleep. Might have a nosy around at some clothes & shoes. :D:j

Hope your DH gets better soon Moggins. So fess up, you pushed him down the steps didn't you. :D That'll teach him. ;)

We made it though the next round in soccer. :T We next have to play Italy.

I better make tracks as we will all want to use the b'room shortly & with me first I get most of the hot water. :D

    Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  Just had a call from the car servicing place and I wish I'd never answered the phone!!!

They need to fit new brakes and fluid
    Swap some tyres around ()
And do the general servicey things...

It's going to cost £265.07 inc Vat! Plus the rear bushes(?) have started to go and will last OK until MOT time (next June) but will need doing then or will not pass... Wouldn't mind but it's 2 years old and only done 17k miles. But then I guess that's what happens when you let an 18YO boy drive a car - it gets "ragged" :rotfl:

Oh well, at least I'm not paying - I've only been driving since April and OH and I agreed that he's paying for this service and then anything in the future we split as I haven't really had time to damage the Ka yet (so he thinks :shhh:  :rotfl: )

Just thought I'd let you know as I'm a bit annoyed at so much work needing doing on a 2YO car

LOL at the PMT for men Queenie - I too have PMT symptoms today (already shouted at DD for kicking me in the eye with shoes on!! ) so just hope I can remain calm for DH when he gets back - he has gone out to work today to finish off then he can rest and recouperate. I have to be careful what i put on here, i think he may view this thread sometimes to see what im saying- either that or he's wanting some x-stitch advice!:rotfl: - no he's usually on the technie board.

is that the time already?? no sooner have i dropped off DS at nursery its time to go back and pick him up! where does the time go???
