Ticklemouse, I know that Groundhog day feeling. It's like a never ending treadmill, just never getting anywhere!! I think that's the problem with this cleaning lark, it's so samey...that's no fun, I don't want to be a specialist in anything I want a variety of skills and repetitive cleaning will destroy that!!!

    Afternoon (just)

Very quick flying visit today. Am now completely behind with FLC - was called out on urgent business yesterday and soon as that was over had to pick up OH from hosp (had minor op) then cook dinner, after that watched the football and then was only ready for bed.

Today just managed to get 1 load in wm, then just finished some urgent banking & buss paperwork and have got to go out for business again - am also out all day tomm. So will not be 'flying' at all this week - not beating myself up about it - these things happen so will be on for the next one.

Right off now - just got to straighten my hair & go. Had toasted pitta bread for lunch and having salmon, new pots (from the farm at the end of my road) and peas for tea.

Hope you all have a good day.

Just found out I might need to w**k Monday and/or Tuesday next week - was supposed to have whole week off but it suits me really, as it's the last week of the leave year I'll be allowed to carry forward the days I don't take (not normally allowed but it's for reasons of business need so won't be a problem) ... always nice to have extra available leave going into the new leave year ... Also, w**k is for beloved ex/future boss rather than despised current one :D;) ... The only thing is I had been intending to have a blitz on the house Monday & Tuesday. Oh Well. The rest of next week I won't have a chance to get any housework done as I'm off to visit Nelski & TM :D:D (no rollercoasters this time ;))

Went to see Dad and he seems a little bit better but very tired.

Went to see where StLeonard's Hospice is and it looks really nice from the outside- really peaceful and dignified.

Told Dad I would be there on Friday morning to go with him to the hospice and to get him settled.

Thanks to evrybody for the support.:T

    Quick question : Nicki

Are eggs BBE 10 June okay to use? They've been kept in the fridge since I bought them

agree with Chipps - make sure they are cooked.

I was once told you could tell if an egg is still fresh by just putting the end of your tongue on the more rounded end. Even if it has been in the fridge, it should still feel warmer than the rest of the egg. I think it has something to do with the fact that there is an air pocket there normally, so presumably when it is less fresh there isn't?

Lots of you are washing bedding today. Brilliant idea, gonna get all mine done too - it will get me ahead of thursdays task - the bedrooms.

Best of luck to you and your Dad. My dad was cared for brilliantly by our local hospice. They made him feel like a person again and not just a patient in a hospital bed.

I read an old recipe book of my mum's which said eggs can be kept at room temperature for six weeks. I figure they'll last much longer in the fridge and often use eggs a month out of date (cos I buy the 18 boxes). All I do is crack it in a cup and smell it first. Never had a bad one yet.

Afternoon everyone. Hugs to Roz, elona, pooky and tootles and anyone else I forgot who needs one.

PenelopePenguin, I think it was 150 posts. Didn't notice til someone else said that they'd just got another star!

Mushy, confused.com is great, but watch because they don't search all the companies...have you tried Sheila's Wheels? They've done me a very good deal, I moved from Lewis to Aberdeen last year and changed my insurance co and my premium actually went down slightly!

jan59.. can I borrow your OH???? You can have mine in exchange if you like :)

having a nice lazy lunchtime, then will be frantically doing things at work. 'They' have a chip supper night tonight that I have to set up for, then some hoovering then some more of the unending weeding!

    enjoy your day all!
