:hello: Gooooood Morning, PP, Roz and fellow OS'ers to follow :D:D

elona ((hugs)) Hope your Dad adjusts to being in the hospice. The staff are really wonderful and the atmosphere is so much calmer than hospitals. Do remember, they are there to support *you* as well!

Pooky - ((hugs)) and sincere condolences. Even when it's 'expected', it doesn't make things any easier.

Roz_V - ((hugs)) Sorry to read about OH's nana. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate! Time, perhaps, to teach SIL some 'life skills' ;) Draw up a list, highlight those she can do, call it delegation!!

Shez - no sacrificial chooks here ... but I notice PP was up earlier enough to do some Druid ceremonies ;)

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to moggins DD :bdaycake:
Looking like rain here, which is a shame because I have washing to go out, didn't really want to resort to airers, but needs must.

Had a lovely day out yesterday and 'did lunch', bit disappointed with the food, but the act of doing it was great  Friends op didn't go ahead, something wrong with her blood, so she was sent home again and goes back in on Friday. Instead of visiting her in hospital tomorrow, I shall be going over to their house to have a chat about how and where I'll be able to help out.

Popped into a couple of charity shops along the way and bought myself a lovely summer dress (and 4 books :o ). Yes, I know we're all decluttering in the FLC, but it will help me declutter some of the older books to make room for these newer one's.;) And I really, really, really couldn't pass them up because 2 are Readers Digest one's that usually retail for stonkingly high prices and they were only charging £2.50 for them.

Had my morning chook walk but forgotten to take my ankle chain off in the night, and chook decided it looked like a delicious morsel, puts another slant on being hen pecked I suppose!

Going to try a new recipe in the bread machine today to use up odd bits in the fridge, Cottage Cheese and Pepperoni Loaf. Fingers X'd for a lush loaf by lunchtime :D Also need to start a new batch of yogurt. FLC is still kitchen duties today and that will overspill to the utility room. All recycleables will be dropped off tomorrow when I do my visit.

    Enjoy the Summer Solstice :D:D:D

Morning Queenie, Roz and PP, Happy summer solstice; I'm up early today so I can get to work early and leave early as I have a 2 hour drive this afternoon to go and collect OH. He lands midday, but I won't be able to get out that early...I wish!!!

I'm very tired today, but hoping that will wear off by the time I get to work.

I also have two very demanding kitties at the moment, both wanting me to stay home and give them cuddles. I think they are missing OH as he is normally at home with them during the day, no doubt giving them lots of cuddles etc

Well, I best logout and head for the hills....

Hope you all have a great day, and for those fly ladies, keep faith!!! Thanks to FLC I have a tidy bathroom and kitchen :) not bad, but not quite there yet.....

    Happy birthday Moggins DD.

    Good morning everyone!:hello:

Just a quick reminder (pinched from the flylady emails) to all - including me - who have not got everything done they thought they would have by now...
You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are. O.K.?

Simple Routines Do the Trick in 2006!

I wonder how PP is getting on on her holiday? Hope she's having a nice time.

The weather looks ok for hanging out the washing, so I will shortly be off to do that & various other necesary things, like doing the d/w, making the bed (it's airing at the mo - that's my excuse for not having done it straight away - one of the points on which I disagree with flylady) 0h, having a shower & getting dressed would be a good thing to do as well.

    Have a good day!:hello:

Ooh, Chipps, yes I agree with the bed airing! I also disagree with FL's suggestion on that score too.

I've hung my washing out after all, if it gets rained on, I'll simply call it bonus fabric softener :o

    Morning all

Blessed be on this day :)

DD's birthday has started like a storm with the profusion of wrapping paper flying everywhere. The sun is shining brightly on her :)

I have to bake a birthday cake once I've got her off to school, get the downstairs tidy and hoovered and then prepare birthday tea for her and 3 of her little friends. Will try and get as much FL done as possible in between.

Have a great day everyone and thank you for the birthday wishes, she is loving those birthday cakes and says thanks.

Morning all......((((((HUGS))))))) to those who need them.

I NEVER make my bed when I get up, leave it for at least 2 hours, it kills off the bugs etc which we all know inhabit the bed but do not like to think about...................

OH has just gone off to take the car in for service, please keep ypur fingers crossed for us...... last year it cost us over £1000 with things that needed doing including 4 new tyres!!!!! just cannot afford that. We keep wondering if we really can afford to keep the car going, but I would be really stuffed without it, to visit my friend would cost me £5 in busfares and take 2 hours there and back!!!!!! We would also not be able to have my daughter and grandchildren over, they live 16 miles away and have the same problwm with buses etc...... so we struggle on.....just using the car as little as possible.

This morning I am off into town on my free bus pass to get fruit and veg from the market. OH is going to the allotment, we had some rain last night so hopefully he will be able to dig a bit easier.

Nothig much else planned for the day, need to make up bol sauce, the mince is defrosting in the frdige, will do that when I get back from town.

The last of the chicken for supper tonight make into fricasse probably with lemon and parsley cous-cous............

    Have a good day...................

    Morning all - lurker here

been catching up on what you are all doing. I read the FL site yesterday and made my bed this morning, then read all your posts about airing, which is a cracking point....... Only thing is I am at w**k all day today - long day as well, so unlikely to make my bed before I get back into it tonight!! Anyway, I have started the challenge a couple of days late and will have to amend according to work commitments, but raring to go!:j

I have really enjoyed reading all your posts and you do inspire me, so BIG THANK YOU to you all :T . I needed a kick up the b*m but you have shown me the carrot instead!!

I am blessed with a DH who likes ironing AND he does a good job. His mother trained him well and he cannot sit down whilst there are jobs to be done - it does get exhausting from time to time and borders on the obsessive actually:rotfl: Anyway, we score Brownie points from each other by anticipating jobs the other plans on dong and doing them anyway! Sad, but funny sometimes and soooo satisfying when you clock some up. Happy to let him have Brownie points now and again as he is genuinely happy doing chores! On balance, I think I am in deficit :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Opportunity to catch up tonight - I had to do an extra wash - shock horror - on Monday (normally only do one wash session a week and thats on Friday, everything dried, ironed and put away by Sunday lunchtime), so there is ironing to do. DH away on business until later tonight, so I might do some ironing before he gets home :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Sad life or WHAT?!?!?!

    Morning all :hello:

Well, I eventually got to sleep last night...no thanks to Shez ;)

Dreamt about houses....yesterday the vendor who had pulled out on Friday, changed her mind and said she still wants me to buy the house...but yet has one to find to buy so it could be some wait. Now I don't know what to do!! Think I'll just wait.

Roz - you're right I think, writing the list down here keeps you motivated. It really helped me yesterday:

job application done, have to drive for two hours to deliver it today! Then 2 hours back...
clean up kitchen in spirit of FL keeping on top of washing
    make bed um.... :o
job application for own job :(done
Studying: chase up bursary/grant, Disability Allowance (LEA & Uni) chased
Phone student loan company - they have messed it up soo much and have been trying to sort this for a year!! they've received letter, now waiting for response
shop around for cheaper car insurance took 3 hours to look online!
Studying: sort through maths folder no time
sweep of the bathroom (thanks for idea SnowyOwl) done, how proud :D
PO: sold something else on Amazon :D will update sig! PO today
Curry with friend at 1730 - most important part of the day yummy :p

Today I have to drive for two hours, drop off job application, then drive back viewing two houses on the way. Not much time for FL - all I keep doing is looking at the woodwork round the flat. The skirting boards are really dusty and dirty. What's the best way to clean them? When I've tried in the past all the dust just goes into little balls and then it's even harder to clean off!! That's the problem with renting, I just don't care as much about the flat.

Anyway...refocus and back to the list:
    • Proof and print job application
    • Print map for where I am going! and house viewing details
    • Drive for hourrssss
    • Drive back for hourrsss
    • During day phone: Uni disability support
    • During day phone: car insurance companies
    • Make bed!!
    • Clean sweep of kitchen
    • Clean sweep of bathroom
    • Sort out with sisters what is happening with Take That
    • Letter to cancel photography course (run out of time to complete work :()
    • Create document for Maths course tomorrow
Last night, whilst trying to complete the car insurance details online I came upon a grand plan to create a car 'master document' to make it easier when filling in all the details. I now have, in one place a document listing:
    • Driving licence details, when passed test, penalties :o
    • Car make, model, when registered, when purchased, looked at old MOT certificates and calculated annual mileage
    • Insurance; yearly costs (gosh it has gone up!), excess, no claims bonuses, insurance claims; dates and costs
    • List of websites searched and quotes
When I one day have a household folder that will go in it.

Gosh, sorry, just realised I'm driveling on. Hello to all; moggins, tootles, twink, queenie, chips, murtle, roz, PenPen - and all who come along -have good days!
