    Hi Obi

I always read your diary even if I don't post.

My heart goes out to you chuck. Here's a hug:grouphug:

Is there anywhere local to you that does alterations that might make the dress more to your taste?

As for the reception - it is your wedding after all! I think you should put your foot down!

The sister of a friend of mine had similar problems when organising her wedding (some 15 years ago now) - it was getting out of hand and was becoming not her wedding. So she went to the vicar, said how soon can you fit us in - 6 weeks time on a Thursday. That way those that really wanted to be there, made the effort to be there. Those that didn't, weren't.

You can't please everyone and it is no use trying!

Hope it goes well for you. xxx

Mrs T - you are an absolute bucket of stars. Remind what sort of size your dress was? If I can't get sorted out tomorrow, I may just be taking you up on that offer.

It' just like everythign else about my wedding - not eyebleedingly ugly, but not what I wanted either. Sigh.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

size 14/16 but I think the dress could "accomodate down to a size 12...I'm fairly busty at 32GG and it might benefit from a SLIGHTLY smaller chest (hell all non 100% custom made wedding dresses seemed to...)
Also height is about 175cm (do the conversion yaself ;) ) and I had about a 1 1/2 - 2" heel and the length was fine for me. It has some shoulder strappy things too somewhere that I took off as I didn't like them but I can try to dig 'em out if you need them.

I'll PM you my msn address so you can add me to MSN tomorrow if you need - I'll be in the office so might not get on MSE... ALthough hoping I can sneak off early - hurting all over... I forgot that when dismounting your horse it is infact advisable to do so only after the damned critter has stopped! And not straight after you thought it would be a super idea to hop over a 3 foot fence on the back of said critter... ouchie...

Off to bed - try not to worry too much chickadee! We'll get ya sorted!

    CRISIS OVER EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Due to uncontrolled sobbing, general hysteria and a crazed muttering, OH insisted I put said shapeless sack on for him. Despite not wanting to show it before the wedding I did so.

He pulled it in a bit on my hips, and did some boob-hoiking. And guess what??!!

It's not the dress - IT'S ME!!!! I'VE LOST WEIGHT!!!

Due to lack of mirrors in household, I couldn't see it properly, so he got a spare mirror that needs hanging and held it up for me, and if I get it taken in a bit on the hips and around my norks, it'll look fine!! He fluffed up the ruching on the front a bit, and that I'm sure can be salvaged by removing the invisible thread holding them down.

So todays tip chicks, is to take a few breaths and look again at something you thought was a massive problem. For it probably isn't.

For now I love dress - embroidery is very well done and with a bit of twitching will fit a dream - OH starting tearing up, so I think it's a hit.

Thankyou all for your kind offers - MrsT and Toto you're both stars.

Thinkng about it, if I had't lost wight after 3 weeks of spinning class, treadmilling and doing battle with The Evil Gym Bunnies I'd worry.

This post was written wearing the Dress. I may sleep in in now I know it's my body that's odd shaped, not thedress.

Arent DFW pepys lovely though eh...Toto & Mrs Tine you are both stars and I hope one of them comes off cos the bride must feel at least blushing even if the guests are selfish t****....cant you just tell em to stay home with the dogs - at least that would save two meals lol!! Hope you srt it soon - try & focus on the purpose of the day rather than the inevitabe family ructions that only weddings seem able to create...whichever family you belong to! Big hug for you & so sorry it feels crap right now...

Tomorrow there shall be photos of me in the actual dress, looking less murderous than I did when I got it out.

Just need to work out how to remove it rom OH's memory now.
