MIL was most put out when I didn't go for a bridesmaid dress. God forbid I should look....bridal....

Nope, for those 'does my ar3e look big in this?' moments....

Moly, my old fruit, how's you lady? Good look in the race, Go Moley! Go Moley! Move those buns!! You haven't missed much - troll, trolls goes away, I post some rubbish about my mental life and me & Mrs Tine yelling at Alan Sugar.

Still waiting for the post, and this amazing letter from Rossendales. Will let you all know what the scumpigs say, although my psychic powers tell me it will go along the line of 'You owe us money, here's some numbers we got the office junior to pick from thin air, we've added on a million quid charges, pay us now or we'll repossess your spleen.' My answer will be 'prove it, or face my wrath'. I'm perfectly willing to take it to court - I'm tired of being pushed around by people my daughter could outthink.

Going out to see Indina Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Catheter Bag tonight, bless you have to hand it to Old Fordy - going out there, doing it for the codgers. See, old people do have a part to play in society - gathering long forgotten treasures & forming queues at the Post Office. Mind, I'm biased, as my hatred of grey-haired old dears is well documented, and well-deserved.

So apart from a budgeted for night out, cheap day. Got a loaf on, washing out rather than tumbled and storecupboard tea.

Have a good one, my friends!

Tip for today - sort out a drawer, or a cupboard and ebay everything that's not essential in it. Essential as in can't get rid, not essential as in 'it might come in useful one day'. It won't.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Can you narrow down "it might come in useful one day"? I mean I have a few nailvarnishes and I'm trying to decide just how many I can justify keeping till the day they all turn solid and need to be chucked LOL

How many nailvarnishes does a gal need?

Will stick load of second hand bra's on fleabay or thriftstoreUK... *sigh* Back when I didn't know what boob size I was and bought loads of 34EE/Fs... turns out I am a 32GG... not out by much then!!! :rotfl:

Received this email below, no sign of this 'letter' so presumably another lie.
    Thank you for your email.

I have contacted the council this morning and obtained the following information.

The NNDR tax is for XXXXX for the period of 01.04.06 - 30.06.07.

A letter was sent to [my old home address] by the council. The council did not receive a reply to or the return of the undelivered letter.

On the 12th December 2006 a further letter was sent out advising that the account would be going to court. The letter was sent to the same address and again, was not retuned undelivered or replied to.

A summons was then sent out and the account was taken to court on the 25th July 2007 and a Liability order was obtained.

The council then sent out a pre bailiff letter.

The council have then instructed us to proceed for £332.20. Our costs are currently £42.50. You are required to make a payment for the full amount or an offer along with a full financial statement can be considered.

Please contact the council for any further disputes regarding the account. We will continue to proceed on the outstanding debt unless or until we receive payment or the client advises us further.

I am writing back telling them as the matter is now in their hands, they have to provide more porrof than this - I'm especially bristley about this 'we will proceed unless we get payment, you talk to the council' bullcarp. So they're telling me they dont have to proe anything? Bo11ocks to that. Think I'll send them a bill for £269,067.46 and when they query it tell them I'll still recover it, and don;t need to prove the debt to them, see how they like it.

Any ideas on how else to proceed? I'm pretty sure this is all bullcarp, as when I clsed the shop I asked if I owed anything else and they said no. Plus I neve got any of these letters, never received a court summons or anything. And as for £42.50 costs they can suck my butt!!

  • Hmm second hand bras...the mind boggles. Although I have it on reliable authority that fermi has a T shirt which will cover this..*cough*

As regards to the toilet paper, AKA, your letter, i really don't know as surely the council can be dealt with directly????

See i knew you should be on the apprentice..apparently one of the candidates wanted to, "suck the lips!" off one of the interview panel...she says looking suspiciously for further proof:rotfl: :rotfl:

I tried before to deal with the council once they put something to Rossendales, this particular council seem to like to save the trouble of writing to you, and go staright to Rossendales without usually informing you first, hence me querying it. They just tell you it's with Rosesendales and they won't handle it any more.

But it proves that they lie to you - where's the letter I was promised yesterday? Not paying £350 on an email, especially as the 'debt' is apparently nearly 2 years old! I copied the letter someone posted elsewhere about the OFT and their recommendation that action whislt it's being investigated is unfair and deceptive, so will hit them with that. If I owe it, I owe it, if not I'm not paying up! Don't think it's unreasonable to ask for some proof, especially if I'm being charged for the pleasure of dealing with Satan's Butt Munchers again.

Well chicks, get ready to add me back to the ranks to the DFW.

Today the postman brought me a letter from the solicitors that dealt with teh failed house purchase last year. Completely forgot about them in the whole 'find a place to live and have baby' thiing, and the balance of their bill is still owing - so together with this Rossendales thing that's crawled out the woodwork (which I'm still not convinced about) mean we now owe approx £830. Every time you think you're straight.....

So today I'm back on the band wagon with a vengenace. The failed house purchase was the fault of the mortgage company, who spent so long messing about the seller pulled out - so I'm going to write to them and see what they'll do about it. We have it in writing that they admit liability. Then I'm going to write to Tomas Cook and see if they'll refund the £300 deposit we paid but had to cancel when we found out about Ash. They can only say no, right? We did give them over 6 months notice, so I could try the 'well it hasn't cost you £300' tack. Plus the ex landlord (the one with the mouldy house) is dragging his feet providing his bank already proved we had paid at least 80% of what he claimed we didn't, and I'm confident his statements will show the rest of that money, as I KNOW I paid it).

So bang goes any idea of a honeymoon. My week off with new hubby will be spent ebaying and Amazoning, possibly a carboot sale. Luckily we've still kept to our DFW wys, so it's not going to be a terrible shock. Might even be a bit fun. I can feel better about my £2 coin thing, and work on increasingly complex spreadsheets.

So, tip for today. Never give up. One day you'll be debt free, but the skills you gain from this experience will stay with you for a lifetime. You may never owe another penny again, or something else might pop up, but you know you can get through it, you've done it before. So smile, enjoy the here and now - the end of the journey is great, but the actual process still needs to be lived.

    Awww chickadee how annoying!
I'm still miles from being Debt Free so don't worry bout it too much. But I bet you could do without all the hassle for the wedding!
Have you managed to get all that you want for the day (and booted you FMIL far far away from the organisation?) or is there stuff still to get? If there is let me know - might have stumbled across it whilst looking for my wedding a month ago!
Seems a shame you can't have a honeymoon though :(

Well, still have to pay for DJ, lunch for 20 (fish and chips so not too bad lol) Tiara, veil and shoes, DS's outfit, OH suit, pay his mum back for his waistcoat, plus fees on the day. We reckon another £400 to pay out, luckily already got that saved. So going to try and cut this down to get more onto the debt. Luckily cupboards are looking pretty good, and there's plenty of stuff lying around to get rid of - the joys of moving into a shoebox!

I'm entering loads of competitions for holidays, plus we're not that far from Cleethorpes, so plenty of opportunity for a beach holiday witht eh benefit of your own bed at the end of the day lol. So no worries chicks, I'm dandy, just pee'd off that I'm still paying out for the bl**dy shop!!

I am so sorry to hear that. life has a nasty habit of biting you in the bum. As regards to solicitors, if it didn't complete then they really can't charge you that much, as all they would have done is typed up bits and the land registry isn't that much. How about a fair and proportionate charge tack with them...
Maybe someone on the mortgage board may know about this.

Fish and chips sounds great for the meal, just make sure you have a big bib covering your lovely dress. What about fleabay holidays? There may be something in there which would give you a nice break.
