Hey all - Mrs T - how did the diy go? Has hubby managed to sell his liver yet?

Well MIL wants to talk to me about the place cards for the lunch we're having at the wedding. The informalnot posh, no-place-card-needed fish and chip lunch we're having. The woman has gone crazy, I swear. I say 'I think we'd like XYZ' and the woman hears 'I'd like you to pick everything, choose everything, and anything we dare choose you must pour scorn upon, including my dress choice.' She's even got......

    personalised napkins

Yes. I know. The depths of insanity. I'm sure personalised napkins would be lovely - at a big posh do with a cake you could live in, 15 course dinner on big plates with small portions and photographs done by the same guy who does the Queen. We wanted something quite informal, friendly and at no point expressed an interest in personalised ANYTHING. She's turned her nose up at everything we've chosen, and basically got to the point now where I don't even want to go to this bl**dy wedding. I don't even recognise it as mine.

Moneywise pretty good today, no spend for me and won a quid on free gala bingo, OH went to get his hair cut though, so he took my fiver for copyig those DVDs. But generally good. Hayfever's playing up, but I'll live.

So short one tonight, hope everyone's going okay. Tip for today (apart from kill your new boyfrien's mother now, as it saves time later) put tennis balls in the tumble dryer to help bash the washing, apparently cuts down on the cost as helps dry them out quicker, and you don't need to use extra softener. I use those spiky balls for the pound shop and they do make the jeans less cardboard like.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Mmmmm I thought about killing my MIL before the wedding... I'm working on the theory that in Spain where she now lives she can't interfere THAT much! It's a theory! :)
Seriously though - it's your wedding chickadee! Put your nimble little feet down and stomp them all you like till she does as you want :)
But ultimately the important thing is that you and hubby to be are happy!
We had a great wedding but we're also going to have a summer BBQ with a hogroast this summer for everyone - because we couldn't afford to invite everyone we wanted to the wedding basically :( And it's a great excuse for another p!ss up! :rotfl:

Anyway - WHERE is MY wedding invite? Huh huh huh? ;)

Mrs T - I sent it - honest!! 'Mrs T, Skinflint House, Tight ar3e Lane, Moneysaving Land.'

I know deep down she's just trying to help, and I don't particularly hate anything she's picked, as she does actually have good taste, it's just not what was in my head. I got my own way with my flowers, and the dress (though she still keeps trying to get me to get a bridesmaid dress instead, something 'less elaborate'). We'll be right in the end.

Today I'm actually able to get to the gym, and have sorted out a load of stuff to get on Ebay, just waiting for the next cheap listing day (not daft, me) so now racking my brains for cheesy 80's tracks with a good backbeat to hlp me get over the horror that is the treadmill. I am in no way a gym bunny, and the only way to overcome the tedium of pounding away is to listen to something upbeat. I love my gym, it rocks, unfortunately my levels of fitness don't.

Cheap day, although it is Bills Day, thanks to the Fran Plan (named after my good friend who invented it, she also rocks) I have my budget done week by week, as we have money coming in at odd times, so I can plan ahead for 'lean weeks' and find it helps. I also have it set up to tell me how much needs to be in the Direct Debit account to make sure I don't underestimate. It's a pretty handy tool, and hats off to Fran for thinking it up.

Suns gone in, but will still attempt to get some clothes out. OH has been told to sort out his warhammer stuff, as it takes over the under bed space. Unfortunately compnay policy says he can't sell any of it until he leaves, as he gets a discount, but that doesn't mean I have to live in a nest of plastic sprues, half built demons and rather disturbing tanks.

So chicks, go outside, have a dance about, get those happy hormones flowing. Todays tip is to cut out a picture, draw it if you must of the thing you're most looking forward to when you get it all paid off. Take your picture and stick it everywhere you can. You might remember my Florida house on my shop till? Well now it lives on my fridge. And my wallet. And blu-tacked to my bank card which makes shop assistants look at me funny. Focus on it whenever you feel like you're no further forward. Because you are, and one day is coming, faster and faster with every penny you pay off.

mrtdress.jpgIs this what you had in mind?

Incidentally this is also how MIL seems to think I should look on my wedding day.
