    Morning Chickies,

    Urgh.

    Mwuh.

    Zsdfjsndfjsdrfsdb.

That just about sums up how I feel this morning. Not sure why - could have been the screaming fit DD had when put in the bath (some bizarre aversion to having water anywhere near her face). The screaming fit that woke her brother, who was then WIDE AWAKE until 9pm. Could have been the snatched meal at 9:30pm in between DS wearing himself out, and DD waking up because 'she can't sleep'. Might have been the Hubby's noisy return from roleplay at 10.30, which woke DS up again.....

Hence the feeling that not even the biggest, strongest mug of tea will sort me out today. Shoud be seeing business person in half an hour, but thanks to last night's panto, got nothing to show her! House is a mess, so strong words are being said about Mummy not being another word for Slave. It's like staying at home to see to the kids, and working like a horse half the week on a fledgling business isn't a proper job, and so he shouldn't have to do housework, because he's been at work all day.

So today will be a day for pottering, for taking a nice bath, catching up on my newfound love for competitions (aim to win xmas pressies for this year) and for hoping the mental blockage on my business plan will dissolve. Odd - wrote a 25 page stunner in one day for OH, but come to my own and I'm floored.

Everything's on target, no overspends so far and the ipoints are racking up for the next set of Keith Prowse vouchers - reckon I can at least get DD's Disney ticket paid for by the time we go.

Today's tip - on payday go to the bank, and get your money over the counter for small things that are odd amounts. For instance - we have £8 put aside for a bus ticket every week - but if you get a tenner from the machine the extra £2 'disappears'. So if this happens to you, make the effort to wihdraw over the counter, and get just what you need. The change will not then 'fall' into the till of the paper shop...

  • Hey Obi, we all have days like that. The good thing is that they are few and far between and little ones will only ever remember that you were there for them, which is good.

That and ten cups of tea sort me out at times...lol.x

    Only 10? You lightweight!

Today my chickies I had excellent plans. I had a list. I was going through them, and just got to the bit where I started adding more roducts to the website when....

Jehovahs Witness's at the door. Now don't get me wrong. I am very open-mindeed about the whole religion thing. Not keen on the whole killing-thy-neighbour-because-he's-not-like-you thing, but most religions have their uses. I was genuinely interested, as JW's aren't something I know a lot about. I wasn't prepared for the hour talk on the book of revelations, and the fact that basically we're about to witness Armageddon. But hey. It's good to know someone's keeping an eye on the thing, right?

So the whole ending of the Earth sort of derailed me. It took me a while to get back into the stride of the day, and now I have to take DH his tea (manager has gone to a meeting in Nottingham, and so he's having to pull a 12 hour shift to make sure the late-night opening happens) so he doesn't feel tempted to buy a kebab. Why his work can't buy a microwave I don't know. Would make my life easier. Getting sick of running down to town (half hour walk) so he's got a hot meal. Anyone else go above & beyond for their OH?

So for the rest of the day I will mostly be doing laundry, changing the beds and putting some more stuff on the website. Not glamorous, but a worthwhile job.

    Evening chicks,

Whew it's been a busy few days - got some nibbles for a get together last night, so over budget :( but other than that not too bd - another couple of books sold on Amazon, so thats another 12 quid to come. Points balances are lookin good (apart from pigsback - that pig is sooooo mean) and the change pig is getting quite heavy.

Tomorrow we're at his mum's, so no chance to make any soup with the leftover veg from our veg box - guess that's tonight's job then. DD had one of her famous screaming fits and woke up her brother, so I'm being serenaded by the 'come and get me now, I can do this all night' cries of my son.

I'm trying to enter more competitions, but I'm finding it tough going. Have actually sat down tonight and worked out a schedule for myself - I'm a terrible procrastinator and this is one way I'm hoping to overcome this terrible habit of mine. PLus I tend to 'pop' on here for 5 minutes, next thing I know I'm missing 2 hours.

So how's everybody else's new year going so far?

    Hi Chickies,

Busy few days at the Obi household, I have finally gotten around to doing myself a schedule - crazy, you might think, but as I work from home, have a household to run, plus am about to start an OU degree, time is going to be short around here, and I know I have a major weakness for 'I'll just do this before getting on with XYZ'. Hubby has complained that I never use the Wii he got me for my birthday, but I know what a time-suck it is, so until I have a slot where I don;t have anything that needs doing, it's tempting fate to 'just have 5 minutes'. 5 minutes turn into 3 hours and then you get the whole guilt-thing for not doing XYZ.

We've gone for a new house, te one we're in is simply tooo small. There's 2 bedrooms which I swear are too small to be classed as bedrooms - DS's can fit a cotbed, a child's wardrobe & a childsize bedside cabinet and that's it. So I'm currently sitting here in every DFW's situation - will my credit rating b*gger things up? I declared my CCjs on the form, and the estate agents say that at the moment they see more and more - the landlords can't turn away people with 'blemishes' as they'd never let their houses. It's got a dining room (oh the joys!) and 2 lounges, so DH can finally have a space to put the World's Largest Warhammer Collection. There may even be enough room to swing the proverbial cat - a feat you'd be hard pushed to even try in the current house.

One day, my chicks, I will be unfazed by the words 'we'll just run a credit check' I will smile sweetly, and not nervously. I shall print out my credit report and plaster it on a billboard for the world to marvel at it's spotlessness. Until then, I shall sit here wobbling slightly and daring to dream of cream paint and where to source half a million cardboard boxes.

Today tip is to think about your own time. How much of it is wasted, and makes you feel bad? Start out with putting a list of stuff you never seem to get around to on the fridge, and work out half an hour (or more if you think you can stick to it). This time may not be taken up with Ricki Lake, laundry or gardening. It is the time specifiaclly set aside for this list. Sewing on buttons, sorting out your wardrobe, anything you'd like to do but never squeeze in. You'll soon find your list gets smaller and smaller and you'll feel better.

    Morning Obi :)

You're doing fine! Chin up my chick and carry on regardless as the Beautiful South song says :)

I'm having one of them days with really painful hips, the beginnings of a snotty nose and dry throat and I feel like going back to bed. Certainly not like making a start on 3 dyas worth of carp from work over nothing actually important other than other peoples own job justification moans - they feel the need to make noise so that their bosses think they are doing a job and shouldn't be got rid off... and thus creating way more work than they ought to... Typical!
Ah well... gonna call Docs in a minute and see if they can make me a new 25 week appointment and speak to him about feeling a wee bit down as well as my hips being very painful and needing to get my MATB1 cert... joys

Oh, the paperwork that comes with babies - we generate paperwork before we're even born.

Have you tried a nice warm bath? I found that helped my hips. Be careful what flu remedy to take as well - don't want Roo popping out addicted to Beechams!

Tell your colleagues to s*d off and get lives - you can get away with it as you're all preggers-like. Blame the hormones.

Right, cup of tea (only 5 so far, doing well) then must crack on with some work. Never mind the wii, this site is just a big as danger!

LOL seriously tempted to tell them all to go away... been run down since last week before I left for the funeral and I'm coughing up phlem too... joy!
I haven't taken anything for it though other than upping my fresh fruit consumption for the vitamins. I hate beechams etc at the best of times so just making do with paracematol and hot chocolate if it IS a cold...
And will have a hot bath round lunch time I think... try and ease the hips a little...
