Oh Im listening to all your fantastic tales but MOAN my books arent selling. I have had them on AMazon for a few weeks and thay are at the lowest price. They are mostly academic. Have only 7 books listed but not a peep,( bought them for a £1 each at borders clearout ) sigh. I sold only one book since I started which was about two moths ago.So Im really scared of buying more books in ! eek
    Im a scaredy cat !!!
  • cat - try your hand with some really cheap bootsale ones, have a go at the self help ones, they can be pretty good, once you sell a few of those it'll boost your confidence.

Don't forget that the academic books will be needed after the summer hols so hold your nerve

BTW is your cat a Burman? - it's just wonderful, mine are all moggies, 2 are 'homemade'

Hi Cat, I'm thinking that it may not be the best time of year for academic books - at least I'm hoping September will be better as I've also got a few listed that I'd like to shift. I'm beginning to realise that for a lot of books its quite a long-term thing on Amazon and not a quick way to make loads of cash unless you have really sought after items or else do bulk buys of books at auctions or on ebay etc. For smaller amounts depending on the subject, I think it may take some time?

Good luck with them though Teapot
  • Pretty soon we'll be up to the 1000 post on this thread and it'll be time to start a new one (mse have a guidline that when a post gets up to around 1000 posts it's a bit unwieldy and a newcomer might not even bother looking so it should be started off again)

The first post with the help to get started is full too, there is a limit to the characters you can have in one post and I've had to delete and edit when I've wanted to add new info so I know that it's pretty much full and I can't add new bits to it

    so -

I was thinking that I should extend that post into another one and the extra one (section two) will follow on from the first section at the start of every new thread ....

What I was thinking was if anyone can think of things that are missing from the opening post, either something that we keep getting asked about by beginners or something that you needed to ask when you were brand new, if we put our heads together we can make sure that there aren't any gaps.

Example - one of the questions we get asked about a lot is about the 'navigations' needed to make a refund or see where the trasaction details are, there is certainly no room in the first post to add all the -' look here, click there' info so this is the kind of thing that would go in section two and then if a newbie misses it and comes on the thread to ask the first of us on the scene can suggest they look at the 'first post - section two'

    OVER TO YOU

Let me know what needs to be added and I'll include it
