  • There was a theory on the Amazon discussion boards a little while ago that doctors, teachers and other academics tend to give 4* rather than 5* when leaving feedback - there's obviously a feeling of 'could do better'

  • I've just spent a day re-grouping all my books into new see-through plastic crates with lids. I've got nearly 800 books etc now so I thought that I had enough to put genres together (until now they have been grouped in boxes by size more than anything else because that made the best use of the space if all the same sized books were together).

I had a brainwave as well - I bet the everyone else does this but didn't think that it was worth mentioning because it's so flippin obvious - before I put each box away I took a digi photo along all the books spines in each box so now I know where to look with exocet pin point accuracy rather than having a hunch that it's in this box, or is it in that one...lol.

I printed the photos out so now if I ever get really bored I can check that they are all actually listed for sale, I know that in the past I've put in a pile to list and for some reason or another they didn't get done and then a few weeks later they have all been amalgamated into the stock and I've lost track of them.

I feel so Anthea Turner today!!!!

Well done apprentice - a good job jobbed!! My hubby put some shelves up in the garage for me and mine are all in genre's in alphabetical order on the shelves. Mind you I only have about 370 listed so it's ok to do this - not sure how I will go when I hit 800 like you - might have to pinch your idea!!

okie I know we have done the refunds business to death but i do have a slightly odd one here (And i really hope the buyer isnt one of the regulars - im sorry if you are here)

But I sold a video (brand new - never watched as it was bought by my other half and wasnt my cuppa tea) two months ago
Today I get an email asking for a refund as it is faulty (apparently it was a fathers day gift and they only watched it today)

Now normally Id refund without question but its been so long since it was bought - Im just a bit confused by the time span - if I bought a video as a present from somewhere I would check it out asap just to make sure it worked fine (i just didnt want to break the cellophane and therefore sell as used)

plus i now see people are selling the same brand new video for £5 less than i sold it for too

    Everything’s alright tonight

And another !!! Annie your a star !!! lol

Seabuscit - How long ago was it since you actually sold it ?? Was it 2 months ago ?? If so I would say it has been a bit too long for them to claim a refund.

If it was 2 months, then why would they have bought it that long ago for a Father's Day pressie?! It can't've been a great not-to-be missed price, as it's now £5 less. So I think they're just making an excuse seeing it is now £5, and thus I wouldn't refund.
