Banned!!!! Gosh that is a bit scarey - am I allowed to sell it then? Yes it is George Robert Elford. There are two on e-bay so I think I will wait and see what they sell for first.

    Thanks for your advice.

They are always on ebay. Its worth picking your moment as the price they end for varies. I would list it on Amazon personally. I can't see eBay sales being great with the World Cup, Big Brother and all this sunshine. I'm not 100% sure which ones were banned. The Sonnerburg (sp?) Run only makes about £20. There is Devils Guard 1,2 &3. Three makes the most money.

    Hi all,

A few days ago, I sold a DVD box-set. Today, I received an Email from the customer requesting to return the item and get a refund. This is because he has "realised that he already has a copy".

Am I obliged to give a refund? If not, would you accept the return and give a refund?

    Thanks,

    PPJ

That is not a reason to return an item. If it was sealed then you can accept it back if it is still sealed, but the buyer would still have to pay postage costs both ways, as it is their mistake, not yours. If it was an unsealed DVD set then I guess it's down to you really, but either way, you should not lose out as they will still have to pay the postage costs both ways.

Just make sure that if you do let them return it, you check it thoroughly upon receipt BEFORE issuing a refund.

P.S Netty, make sure you send it Special Delivery so that you are insured if it goes missing.

Not to sure about special delivery, It is quite an expensive service, and even 1st class has £32 insurance, as long as you get proof of posting. So I'd say go the cheapest route. I would only use Special if it sold over £50 personally, but that's just me.
  • You can have the parcel insured (not breakable china etc) if you send it Standard Parcels, this will cost £1 extra

Gosh now I am really confused about pricing it. Maybe as it was banned I Should keep it as an investment for the future??

    Hi guys,

I have been handing out the amazon 'buyer waiting list' to anyone that has PM'ed me (about 15 people so far) and I am happy to continue doing that but I thought I would fill you in on my success.

The list has 23,000 books on it that people have pre-ordered
What I did was sort the excel file by price and then went through each book starting from the top and searched on the internet for the book at a lower price than the buyer had pre-ordered it at. I was lucky to have come across a book at £20 that someone had pre-ordered and it sold straight away for £80 thereby making me a lovely £50ish profit (after fees), for just one book this makes me very happy so I thought I would share.

I know that some people have said that the list is useless due to it being so huge but if you do what I did you may get lucky, I know that one of the people I gave the list to has found 3 books on the list that will cost her 1/3 of the price the buyer will pay, so it is possible to make some money from this list.

Sadly you do have to give the refund inc original postage paid but you don't have to pay postage for them to return it to you. Make sure you ask them to send it back via a trackable source though (Recorded or Special).

With Amazon you are obliged to refund any item regardless of why the buyer doesn't want it - providing they return it within 7 days of receipt.

    Hi all

Just after a bit of advice really. I have recently started selling my books on Amazon and my mum and great uncle also gave me some books to sell for them. A lot of books are on for 1p so have decided to give anything under a quid to charity. However, one of my great uncles books called Kizilkar isbn number 0450056929 is on Amazon at a minimum of £75.00. I really don't know how much to put it on for and am a little confused. I would say the book was in acceptable condition to be fair although in perfect reading condition. Is this book really worth this much? It is only a paperback copy. I really want to sell it as I have loads to get rid of now and they are getting in the way but not sure what to put it on at. Obviously the money after costs will go to my uncle so I want to get as much for it as possible - any ideas the amazon pro's out there?

    Thanks in advance
    Netty

Hi, if I was you I would list it at a similar price to Kenworthy Books - they are quite an 'established' Amazon seller and I would trust their judgement. You can always reduce your price over the period of a few months.

Looking at the 'completed' listings on Ebay, one sold at about £10, but I noticed that Hard2findbooks4u (not sure if I have remembered that right) are listing their copy on Ebay (BIN) and on Amazon.

On https://www.bookfinder.com there are very few copies around on the more 'popular' sites for much less than £50.

    Good luck with the sales.

    Hi

Thanks for having a look for me, I am going to see how much they go for on e-bay first and then decide. I have tried completed on E-bay but no results came up for me.
