  • I'm delurking with a vengeance here!

What about books that have ISBNs but aren't on Amazon? The ISBN is showing on AbeBooks. I'd like to list the book as its in really good condition and I don't want to read it again, I think I could get a good few pounds for it. I can always save it for ebay where I think it should go fairly well, but I'd prefer to be able to set my own price.

Have you tried searching for the book by title/author? Sometimes I find books won't come up searching by ISBN, but they have the same edition (with the same ISBN!) available if you search by title

There are translations of the book into German. Also they're paperback and mine is a hardback - I think I'd be pushing it to list.

Can anyone help me use the Amazon system more effectively?

I get the emails telling me that lisings have expired and go to the closed listings to re-list but when I have done this the item stays there. I want to be able to delete it so that it is only in one place at any one time, that way when I eventually get loads of books on it should be easier to keep track of whats what. Does anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like a very good idea, but at the moment I don't think this is possible.

I just relist using the email link, it takes you straight to the item then & I find this easier.

  • Horns of a dilema - I'm going to an auction tomorrow to get more of the china and antiques that I sell on ebay, that's the easy bit.

I went to view and there were 13  boxes of books, all stacked up so you can only see what's in the top 3 or 4 boxes AND there's a box of around 70 CD's in another lot
    .
The thing is my boy's home from Uni in a 3 weeks with all his stuff from his flat (pots and pans as well all as his usual kit) and all my over-spill space in the garage etc is to be used by him for the summer so space is at a premium.

I'm swinging on a pendulum between thinking how utterly stupid it would be to buy 13 boxes of books that I haven't properly looked at (there isn't the space in the room to get the boxes out for a proper look)

Then I swing the other way thinking that maybe 1/4 are fit for the bin and nothing else (a few looked crumpled) another 1/4 would be to give away to a charity shop so that leaves maybe 6 boxes of books to sell, never mind the CD's and if I can get them for a good price then it will be OK.

Every 5 minutes I change my mind and trying to work out what my top bid should be is making my head hurt.

Someone tell me what to do....please?

Personally, I love 'job lots' - lucky you - go for it - but set yourself a limit of approx 5p per book (if you can estimate the quantity).
