    Hello Kaminari :hello:

I had the same problem when I got over a certain size. I now add a location to the sku (stock keeping unit) field when I list a book. So, bookshelf no, wardrobe no, loft box no, shed box no, garage box no etc Now you know where I keep them all ;)

Every sku must be unique, so you may want to use something like Box1Book1, Box1Book2 etc.

It's not infallible but it does help narrow it down. I still have problems when I haven't put a book in the box I listed it in.

I was just looking at a sellers rating who has a book next to mine. They are 74% with 4 ratings, one neutral which says "Seller met all the criteria, and look forward to doing business with them again"!! rating 3/5! How gutting must that have been. Wonder if they could have got that removed???

  • Look at the bottom right hand side of the Amazon 'Welcome' page - they are listed there. Apparently it is updated hourly.

I've looked at a few of the top 100, and they seem to be priced just below Amazon. If people were buying enough to get the Amazon free delivery, new would be cheaper. Do you think enough people just want to buy one or two books so it's cheaper to pay the £2.75? On the occasions I've bought from Amazon, I've tended to wait till I have enough for free delivery.

I have sold 'used' when I have been priced the same or close to the Amazon new price. Amazon are known to be quite slow these days and if your feedback reflects fast delivery times I think that can be a factor.

I'm like you, I try to wait until I have enough for free delivery, unless I know and like the seller.

    Yahoo all,
With your help, I have netted £152 in 1 week:beer: . That is a quarter of the plane fare I need for India. I love it. I bought a book in a charity shop today on a ladies medical matter and the amazon price comes in over £50 - I got it for £1.50 (I know its not sold yet...).
The self help books and the older british videos seem to be doing best.
Thanks you again... May I apply to be an Amazon Sellers Club member please?

I take it the 'sku (stock keeping unit) field' is something that is on Pro sellers listings but not everybody's?

I just logged on here to ask the same question. I have been sat at the PC for two hours listing. I now have two huge boxes of books/videos on Amazon (77 items) but I also have a few on Green Metropolis and some which I need to see if they are ebayable (too heavy for GM/Amazon).

I was wondering if you sell on all of these places how do you keep a track of what you have listed where or you no longer have (item sold).

On a plus note, I've sat here for two and a half hours weighing and listing/sorting books. One of the books has sold already, fingers crossed for some more sales.

  • Hello VSM,
I am famous for not being able to direct people anywhere but i will give it a go...
    go to http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/
at the bottom of the screen you will see a list of all of us who are online - your name should be first. click on it and your profile will comeup - i think you go to 'user CP' (its a heading) and there is a column where you will see 'edit signature'. get that far and have a play - you can use the smilies or different colours but there is a limit to how much you can write. its good fun and helps me stay focused!

You're right, SKU's are only available to PM's, I became a PM so soon after starting to sell and before I needed SKU's that I had not noticed it was one of the 'benefits'.

I sell mostly on Amazon, I have a few books on GM which I listed last week as a trial and only occasionally sell on Ebay, so keeping track has not been a major problem ... yet. I can see that it could lead to some problems though if you forget to delist a book and it sells on one of the other platforms.
